This is Day 1 of the 21-Day Journaling Challenge held in Nov 2011. The challenge is now over but you can do the tasks in your own time. Visit the overview page for all the challenge tasks.
Hi everyone! Welcome to Day 1 of the 21-Day Journaling Challenge aka 21DJC!First off, I’m blown away by your enthusiasm for the challenge. Many of you jumped on board upon the opening for sign ups three days ago. Some of you have experience journaling in the past, while the rest of you do not journal but are keen to give it a shot. We now have an amazing 428 official, registered participants and it’s increasing as we speak! For the 428 of you who have registered, I want you to give yourself a pat on your back. Because you have put your name up for the challenge, you have sent out the intention to the universe that you want to grow. And trust me — it’s going to happen in this 21-day journaling challenge. As long as you commit yourself to journaling the assigned questions every day, you WILL grow — in your consciousness, in self-awareness, and in your connection with your inner self.
Seriously — what would you do? Would you save them in a bank? Would you use them to buy stocks? Would you share them with other people? Would you invest the money in your business? Would you give them away to charity? Would you quit what you’re doing and start a whole new life? What would you do with your million dollars?(Today’s question can be found in #45 of 101 Important Questions To Ask Yourself In Life.)

Read: 8 Tips To Excel in 21DJC
I’ve written a list of 8 Tips To Excel in 21DJC in the announcement post. Please make sure you read them and follow them to a tee to get the best out of the challenge. Please Use Proper English
Because this is a journaling challenge and there will likely be long passages of text, I require the cooperation of everyone to follow Tip #6 in particular — which is on using proper capitalization, punctuation, spelling, and grammar in your answers.I noticed some registrants using chat speak when signing up (e.g. “i did all d thing wid ney email id”) and some registrants using full caps (e.g. “I LOVE THIS IDEA AND I WOULD LIKE TO SIGN UP FOR THE CHALLENGE”). While it’s only a small handful of registrants, it’s enough to ruin the experience of the challenge for everyone. We’re doing this as a community, so let’s be considerate to everyone who will be reading our answers. Use capital letters if it’s the first letter of the sentence and small letters for the rest. Use proper English words that you’d find in a dictionary, not chat speak. Punctuate accordingly: use commas and semicolons where necessary and avoid run-on sentences. Do a quick scan to make sure your spelling is right before you post your answers. Let’s make this a positive experience for everyone taking part!(For participants who do not comply with #6, I’m afraid I’d have to remove your posts for the benefit of the community. I seek your understanding on this. Thank you!)With that said, let’s now move to our first question, shall we? ;)21DJC Day 1
Today’s question is a simple, age-old, yet powerful question:What Would You Do If You Have 1 Million Dollars?

Your Task Today:
- Reflect and answer today’s question. Like I mentioned in Tip #4 of 8 Tips To Excel in 21DJC, there’s no word limit – whether minimum or maximum. Write as few or as many words as you want. It’s all up to what you want to express!
- Share your answer. After you are done writing, copy and paste your answer in the comments area and post it there.
- Check out other participants’ answers. Other participants will be sharing their answers too, so feel free to read and reply to their answers. This is a group course, so let’s support each other in these 21 days.

If i had one million dollars i would invest half of that money in to my future and i would use half of that money just for traveling, learning, expanding my horizons, making other people happy and for sure i would invest some of the money to charity.
First i would buy a nice ranch out in the country, with big house and a lot of land so i can grow organic vegetables and fruit. Since i live in a small Eastern European country that would not cost much over 200,000 dollars. Second i would give 100,000 to my closest family so they can start their business or buy an real-estate. Than i would invest some of the money in my own business plan that would involve inspiring people for the lowest fee possible, i would need a venue and first years cost for everything i need, so that would take at least 150,000. At least for ensuring my future i would invest 50,000 dollars just in my education and getting coaching and NLP certificates that i plan on obtaining. I would also attend writing class because i have a burning desire to write a book that will inspire people in my country and further to live their dreams.
Second half of that money i would use as i sad to expand my life horizons and to face my fears and mostly to travel. First i would visit some spiritual place like Machu Picu where i can get more insight on my life purpose. Than i would take a trip to India to relax and to reflect where i can work on my book and share with people all that i saw and learned during my travels. That would cost at least 200,000 dollars to visit and experience everything that i want the way i want to experience it.
I would also spend about 20,000 to a big party to which i would invite all of my family and friends and give them one phenomenal night where i can show them that dreams do come true.
I would spend about 80,000 dollars on inner journeys with coaches, spiritualists, teachers, healers etc. who can teach me something more about me and my life purpose. I would use also those new learned experiences in my book.
About 50, 000 i would just splurge on everything i love to do and that make me happy. And another 50,000 i would use to make every person that i love and care for happy for at least a day or more if i can and know how.
And last but not least i would give away 100,000 to charity for children in need and i would start up charity organization who would help children with money, material goods and emotional support.
If I had a million dollars, first I would make it safe. Then, I would use some for my immediate needs as well as the needs of all my loved ones, also whoever I come across and are in the same boat. Wherever I go, I would not want to see any suffering because of poverty. Everyday I would be busy spending my time and money helping and teaching poor people how to fish and support their own basic needs. Life is so full of abundance and they just have to learn to depend upon themselves. If I need any help myself, I will pay with the money I have! By poverty, I mean people who are less privileged, handicapped, where there is unrighteousness, all who are suffering, physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, etc. like the millions of people in countries in Africa, North Korea, Middle East countries, etc. where millions are suffering, while the few on “top” are storing and living in riches. I feel very sorry because my million dollars are not enough, just a drop in the ocean! Can continue later…..
If I had a million dollars, I’d start by paying off my credit card bills, and then I’d buy a 2 bedroom apartment. (my one bedroom is too small.) After that, I think I would put away a small sum for my savings, about 100,000 and the rest would go to charity. I think I would give most of it to a program that’s working to keep music programs funded in public schools, especially those that are in lower socio-economic areas.
If I had a million dollars – I’d pay off all debt, which is basically just my house; and my kids’ college loans; I’d tithe 10%; I’d get a car built within the last year or so; I’d keep working, but I’d be more relaxed about it; I’d be a fabulous aunt and help out my nieces and nephews; I’d be a good daughter and sister and help the folks and siblings too… I’d fix up my house with new floors and furniture; I’d invest 10% in something stable; I’d take a really nice vacation and put whatever is left towards my retirement – which I would take as early as possible!
What would I do with 1 Million Dollars?
Firstly, I would invest in myself that is, learn to speak different languages, get a diploma in Human Resources and relations, do billionaire boot camp, go on a long overdue holiday and fix my teeth. Jeeze… My list is huge here already just for number one. WOW
* But… I have a few more to do as first things but in general invest in myself and improve.
Secondly, (I believe this may fall into no.1 “Invest in myself” is to donate to various charities that I believe in and use my holiday to be involved in aid work.
Thirdly, I would seriously help my family and put money away for them into a trust fund or into investment to invest about $10,000 each.
Fourthly, put value into my blogs, business and do more training that is, marketing, affiliate work and forex (currency trading) and more…
My fifthly thing for a million dollars is to set myself up for life that is buy a new house, do investment properties and sixthly get myself out of bad liabilities that are holding me back and do some financial training with the best people like Donald Trump.
Last but not least, seventh, I would seriously love to spend time with Chris Howard and Anthony Robbins to help me grow as a person and be better. But I would also like to help others by being more educated in being a life coach with personal-power and influence.
* I believe this about sums it up for me.
xx Ezzy
I think about this all of the time.
I would first pay off my car, credit card and student loans. Then I would quit my job and finish my degree.
I’d set aside money for my mom. Then invest some of it so it’ll grow long term. I’d travel. And live within my means so that I could continue to live off whatever is left for as long as I could :)
There are many things I would want to do, but I would definitely give some of it to my parents who have worked so hard all their lives to raise me and give me better education by moving to a new country, learning and still struggling with the language of English, and working in jobs they are obviously overqualified for. Money can’t express my gratitude, but I want to see them live a comfortable life and maybe go on a nice vacation after many many years of not having one.
I definitely want to keep some for myself and want to travel around for a few years, meeting new people and hopefully volunteering in different countries. I also want to use that money to start something (a business?) to earn more money…and make donations to charities of my choice to fund students to go on international experience, or help low-income families…something that will have impact on someone else’s life.
Absolutely Iris. I love your direction and passion. I believe you should do this even though you do not have million dollars or have a millions dollars. Either way follow your dream and help others. xx
To start off, that’s a lot of money. I feel excited thinking about that thought but nevertheless, it occurred to me that i am not prepared to have that large sum of money. Why did I say that? Because i don’t have concrete plans of where to put or place that big amount of money. Ironically, these past few days I am so bored on my job and constantly would wish I do something else. Then the thought of having these big amount of money, i can’t think of where to put it. I mean, saying putting portion of it in business is one thing but answering specific questions such as what kind of business, how much of the money, who will manage the business?
Anyway, to clear these random thoughts running in my head, I will answer the question first. The first ten percent will go to Unicef. Beginning last October 2010 I started working on putting 10% of my income away as a gift or contribution. It is a way of giving back. Well, i am not yet into the full ten percent but i am working my way on that. I already pledged a constant amount to this organization as I believe in their cause. I want to work on increasing my income flow so that the amount i donate becomes larger.
The next ten percent will be placed in mutual fund, insurance and stocks. Since this is just a one time income flow, i want to secure my and my family’s future so investing in in mutual fund somehow gives me a safety net.
The next ten percent will be used to purchase a house. This is one of my five year goal that i have listed during the 30DLBL. Having one million on hand will help me easily write off that goal from my list.
Now, i still have 70% left. Too much money. Hehehe. I can’t decide spending a portion of the million dollars on travel just because i don’t feel it as a wise decision. So for now, I guess i’ll put half of the 70% in stocks as I am an active stock trader and the remaining portion in bank (though it is a bit difficult to accept given the low interest rates). After that, I will have to think things over and decide what activity I will enjoy doing for the rest of my life (not being employed) and put my money in there.
What would I do if I have $1 Million Dollars?
Well this will fit right in with the vision of $77 million which I will somehow receive or make! I’ve been reading and trying to align my dreams, wishes and realities …and so to start with the first million , a portion will go to taking care of my mother’s needs and my sister who is her caregiver. That is definitely my priority!
Of course finally writing those wonderful checks to clear all my debts and return to those who have been kind to loan me in my time of need. I’ve been working at it…and so I know that wonderful feeling of sending that final check to my debtors would be wonderful and it won’t be much…but I truly would get such pleasure and joy of doing so.
I know the practical part is also saving something for my retirement as I need to catch up….so I’ll definitely put aside for my retirement…but what excites me is the pleasure of sharing this gift. The experience of giving to those in need…directly or anonymously gives me such great pleasure, joy and memories for a lifetime. This is truly what life is all about!
I’m now working with our parish and hoping that I can invest some monies in our community, whether it be a kitchen or a warehouse so we can build a large kitchen for catering services, classrooms, daycare and small stalls for businesses and farmers to sell their produce, something wherein we can incubate these small start ups and hopefully be able to help with the unemployment in our community. Whether our community barter services or sell on a cash basis….I’m thinking a big chunk of this money can go a long ways to developing capacities and truly bring our community together.
I’d be remiss if I didn’t include an idea my son and I had. This past summer, a few of my siblings and our children were able to attend a family wedding. The best part of it was time out for our family at a bungalow with a tree house and kayaks and lots of swimming and boat rides. It was so memorable that the day we arrived from our vacation, my son gathered a couple of his cousins for lunch and together planned out our entire vacation for next year!
Of course I must include that my oldest son is getting married and hopefully, I can plan a wonderful wedding for them and have enough money to invite my extended family.
A million dollar gift will definitely allow me the pleasure of having that gift keep on GIVING and paying it FORWARD!
Have a wonderful day!
I would love to say I would do something unique or daring or drastic with a million dollars but the reality is I know my practical nature would take control and force me to be responsible. Ideally, I would like to buy a house but right now I live in an egregiously expensive area of the country and a million dollars won’t get you very far. So I’d resort to plan B.
I would pay off my credit cards, the pesky student loans that are ruining my life and try desperately to remain debt free forever. I have never traveled, so I would certainly make sure to spend some of it on a long trip in Europe or Asia. I’ve never been outside of the United States and I know there is just so much more of the world that I need to see but my financial situation has never permitted me to do so.
I would buy one pair of ridiculously expensive designer shoes in a supreme act of frivolousness and I would take my entire family to Disney World. Mom, sister, brother, sister-in-law, my nephew and I would have an absolutely amazing family vacation. We have never had a real family vacation.
Lastly, I would put the rest of the money away for my mother’s health problems and my younger sister’s and nephew’s education. My mother has terrible albeit insurance that does not afford her very good health care and my sister is only in 3rd grade and my nephew is 2. I shudder to think what college will cost when they are of age.
That is how I would spend a million dollars.
How to answer this question without being materialistic and cliche? But then I realised that materialism is a part of the question itself. So I’m throwing away any insecurities and I shall be as honest as I possibly can.
Truth be told, I don’t really know. What I have right now are all the things that I could have possibly need. I’ve got a good working laptop, an Ipad, a cute mobile phone, an Ipod. I have enough money to survive my day to day life and if I need to spend a bit more, I can afford to. Maybe the fact that I am student also means that I do not have to think very much about the hassle of paying bills, council taxes and many of those other legalities that require you to pay.
But I guess if we put aside all these and truly focus on the fact that we have one million dollar to spend for ourselves and on the people we choose to, is there something that we want so badly? Is there something that I really, really, want?
Right now, what I want is to pay my family back for their trust and their support for me. I want to see my boyfriend who is half way around the world. I want to give little presents to the kids I helped teach (English) back in my hometown. I want to travel the world with ease. I want to do well right now in my postgraduate studies and I want to write an amazing thesis, too.
Ah! I can use that 1 million dollar after all. :) I guess I can treat my family and spoil them. I guess I with that money I can fly my boyfriend here besides me. I guess I can give those kids big presents after all. I guess, I really CAN travel around the world, luxuriously. But I guess, not all of it is payable. If I want to do well in my studies, I myself have to strive for it, right? If I want to write an amazing dissertation on my own, I myself will have to inspire, articulate and write it.
The main question, however, is how will I get that 1 million dollars?
If I had a million dollars…
I don’t like money. I really honestly don’t. It’s not because I have over $60,000 in student loans or that I have a small credit card debt. It’s because of what a large amount of money represents to me. Unnecessary. And I’m currently trying to purge my life and house of the unnecessary and become a minimalist. (Mind you it’s very hard. I’ve become quite attached to my clutter).
So let’s backtrack a bit. As a child, we didn’t have extra money hanging around the bank accounts. As a single parent, my mom spent every dime she had so we could experience a little bit of everything. I remember taking voice lessons, piano lessons, dance, tumbling. I took them no longer than a couple of months. Every time I started a new class, I knew that eventually I would have to give them up due to the fact we couldn’t afford anything long term. We were lower middle class. We were barely surviving and my mom didn’t hesitate to go further into debt to maintain the life we led. I would give up candy at the grocery store knowing that it is only one dollar, but it’s a dollar that could be better spent.
So back to the question at hand, if I had a million dollars what would I do? Personally, I would use it to pay off student loans, my credit card, get a car with better gas mileage, and maybe a two bedroom house. Yet, that wouldn’t be all of the million dollars. So I would donate some of it to a couple of nonprofit organizations that I believe in. One organization I work for, which recently had to start charging a small payment for one of their services due to the lack of funding that’s trickled down. And finally I would give some money to my mother who took care of my sister and me regardless of the debt that she accrued.
The left over money I would invest. After all, I would still want to work until I retired, and I would like to retire early.
A million dollars is a lot of money when you don’t have any. I think I would first pay off my student loans and look to take other classes that interested me. Secondly I would give an equal portion to each of my seven kids, who have had to do with out many things while they were growing up.
As a Veteran, who has been homeless at one time, I would do all could to help some of these unfortunate heros. Being a female and victim of Military Sexual Abuse, I would also donate significantly to these women who feel alone and suffered PTSD as a result of the violation. i am older now and in failing health and would donate some of this to research in the areas of my health concerns, cancer, failing liver among other issues. With so many in veterans suffering from different mental health issues, I would try to fund programs to offer extra help in rehab. Alcoholism and drug abuse ranks high in veterans and they could use some aid there. I have three boys that have been in the military with one who was in Iraq, I feel that offering them help is worth a bit of my money.
I know that a million dollars will not go far, but I would like to see if I can double up on some on the funds that I will give to these people. I have one son incarcerated and now that programs that help ex offenders re-enter society and not be inclined to repeat the offense by offering hope trough programs geared towards a trade and productive living that will give them self esteem. Especially if the charges were something originating from youth drug addiction.
I really have no reason to keep the money except to offer my self some additional skills that i want to learn before my bucket list comes to an end.
Part of it I would give to my family! The remaining part I would spend as follows:
1. Travelling around the world to all parts of it and meeting different people, learning different languages by living in different places for several months.
2. I would spend money to do all hobbies that i wanted to do in order to find what exactly i want to be doing in my life and maybe invst in something that could grow as my own business.
3. I would change my job (move from my department to HR whereby I could be able to communicate with different people every day).
What Would You Do If You Have 1 Million Dollars?
This is an easy one. I would first pay off my debts. Then I would be sure that my children had their educations paid for for, a home and a vehicle. I would buy my homestead and get myself set up to live off-grid, and pay off my mom and stepdads vehicles and land. I would also give each of my siblings a set amount of money. The rest would be split in half. The first half would go toward charity. The second would be what I would live off while building my freelance career.
It would be lovely to unexpectedly get a million dollars. I think it would mostly give me peace of mind. I would continue to live as I do know; but with the peace of knowing emergencies would be covered and long cherished plans could be accomplished. What an excellent question, it has made me do a lot of thinking. Perhaps it wouldn’t be so hard to accomplish my dreams. Thank you for this inner reflection. I am just realizing that with a little more effort on my part, I could indeed achieve my dreams. There is really no need to wait for me to win the lottery.
This is such an interesting question. I’ve never been someone who desires having a lot of money. Don’t get me wrong it would be nice not to have to worry every month about how the bills are going to be paid but I have never been someone who would put being rich on my wish list. I know you need some money to survive in life, and a little more than what I get would be nice. But I remember as a teenager when the lottery was first introduced to my country that I would will our family not to win millions and millions. I didn’t want our life to change unimaginably. That sounds silly now; the chances of winning are so slight.
But if I were suddenly to have a million dollars right now the first thing I would do is make sure my parents and brother were financially secure and more. They have helped me out so many times when I have been struggling, even though I have never asked them directly for money. Although they never expect to be repaid if I could afford to, that would be the first thing I would do. I would want them to be able to relax, and for my parents to enjoy an early retirement knowing they had money to travel to the places they had always dreamed of.
I guess next I would make sure all my debts are paid off, student debts and such like which would take me years to clear otherwise. I would also do the same for my boyfriend and friends. I know what a weight off my shoulders it would be so I would like to be able to do the same for the people I care about most.
Then, I would invest some so that I would know I would never have to rely on someone else helping me out again. So that when the time came and I wanted to buy a house I could do so.
I wouldn’t want to give up work I would find it hard not having a reason to get up every day. But I would take some time to do some voluntary work. Ideally I would go to Tibet or Dharamsala to work with the Tibetan people. But I would be happy volunteering with people and/or animals anywhere in the world, wherever my skills would be needed most.
Of course I hope that having more money would mean I have a little more free time to devote to working on improving myself and becoming a better person, getting involved in more challenges like this one!
After all that! I would wait and see what new paths there are for me to follow.
I’m investing the money in myself! I’m going to take some great courses for personal development, a personal trainer and a personal economist. And I’m going to buy my mother a MiniCooper <3 just like I promised when I was young(er)
I agree investing in personal development classes would be a top priority.
$75K: I would seek medical help for a family member in the United States.
$650K: I would use the money to invest in real estate to create future income streams for myself and my family. For example, purchasing 5 small apts and using the rental income:
– to develop my coaching and positive discipline activities
-purchase an apt to live in
$200K: I would create a Montessori/Waldorf like school in Paris equipped with a team of speech and occupational therapists.
$25K: Purchase original art
$30K: Do an Africa safari and long trip to China
$20K: place in the bank
I have never imagined (until now) having 1 million dollars, but if that opportunity arises through chance… I will be able to effortlessly afford buying a flat, take a year off work, so that I can pursue further studies and allow myself to feel more relaxed in taking risks. I have a ‘distant dream” of founding a cultural centre, where people can experience and familiarize themselves with foreign cultures. I guess having such an amount of money can help towards realising this intiative.
If I had a million dollars…
I would become debt free.
I would get a new home.
I would get a new car.
I would help my parents.
I would help my brother.
I would save the rest for travelling and whatever else I would like to do.
A million dollars is not what it once was, as Dr. Evil and Number 2 will tell you, but it is still significantly more than I have now. I would like to think that I’d invest at least half of that and tuck it away for retirement, but is that the point of a thought exercise — or are we to throw wild ideas like buying ponies and the like out there? If it’s more along the lines of the latter, I’d say buy a modest house (one big enough for my wife, our two cats, our rambunctious puppy, and me); pursue a graduate degree in future studies, history, or law; and take a long vacation to Europe — and invest the other half!
Is it 1 million dollar dream?
Let’s list what would be my actions:
-buy houses for myself, brother, sister, grandpas
-create bank deposits for funding my family health
-travel around oriental countries for spiritualism and opening my mind to the world
– startup my business
– invest in my education to a better person
That’s all
If I had a millon dollars I would keep it a secret and continue on with my regular life. First I would put aside $200,000 as emergency money. Then I would purchase some kind of modest property – condo or townhome under $500,000. (The average home price in my city is over a million dollars)
Then I would purchase season hockey tickets for my boyfriend, Dad and brother and take my mom and grandma to the spa. I would save the rest for a future destination wedding and a volunteer trip to Africa and my future life.
What Would You Do If You Have 1 Million Dollars?
Hi Dear All,
If the bank system does not crush and money still has value.. ;) I am into:
Spending some money for charities (education of children in undeveloped countries, especially in Africa, help for women from around the world who are abused and aggressed by their husbands, boyfriends, etc.);
Buying some presents for my Family and Friends (rather “experiences” than new belongings);
Going for a trip around the world and interviewing local people for us to know their deepest truths;
Investing in my capacity to change the world for the better: learning foreign languages, taking part in various workshops from the field of self-development, coaching, human skills, mediation, etc.
Learning to dance at the professional level the African dances and go a few times to Africa for as to dance with local people during their celebrations;
After a few research and experiments, I would love to write a book about how to communicate effectively, or about conscious, optimal living, wisdom, etc.
I also dream of making a blog on those topics;
I would like to work in business, for various companies, for as to help them both grow financially and make their Employees happier in their workplace, I would like to co-create a safe, stimulating and positive (emotional, social and material) environment for people in business;
Other things that I would like to experience are: encounter shamans and understand or experience their vision of human beings and the world, learn to surf, kite surf, snowboard, make some courses in the Monroe Institute, participate in the NVC workshop with Marshall Rosenberg, go for the Vipassana retreat…
And many more, to sum up I would like to have a comfortable life, full of growth and adventure, sense and love and share my happiness with others. Money would not make me stay at home, it would make possible all my deepest and craziest dreams come true..
Love,
P.
1 Million Dollars…
First off, pay all the debts, return all favors I couldn’t so far.
I will build a house for my parents and a little cottage for me, near by.
I will take my parents to best doctors and seek treatments and improve the quality of their life. I will invest in their talents, mom with painting, dad with literature and books.
I will take all educational courses i want, including how to start a business and make it profitable.
I will travel more and visit my online friends.
I will help a old person to have a better, comfortable life and a poor little kid to have a chance to go to school.
I will buy few things to the men I loved, a sophisticated photo camera for Julian and a cello for Adrian.
and I will remember how happy every little thing on that list makes me and use it in the future.
I would pay off my mortgage and my husband’s mortgage, than I would buy one more property for long term investment. I am sure I would quit my job and start career of travel and food writer. Rest of the money I would:
-Share with my mother
-Donate some money to wild life protection charities
-Save in a bank for future
I would pay every single one of my debts, large and small—I am now debt free!!!
Next, get another car—new, reliable!
Make needed repairs to my present car!
Take a needed vacation back home!
Go over my list of people/things I’ve been wanting to give money and GIVE MONEY to all those who need it!!! Yay!
Plan, then take a European and African vacation!
I would leave my unfulfilling job and open up my dream business. Follow my passion.
What Would You Do If You Have 1 Million Dollars? This is such a great question!
Today when I went to get gas a man asked me If I could spare 5.00 for his gas tank. I gladly gave it to him. Despite the fact that my father gave me the money for my own gas tank. Thus, I left out the 5.00 from my tank. It was my good deed today.
Then I was going to Sears for my dad to buy something and I was listening to the radio. I was in tears as the story unfolded and the ministry below gives to “homeless” people. One man shared how he loved the home made meals on Friday in Chicago Il and also for the black coat they gave him. This touched me beyond measure. I would defiantly give to this ministry.
http://www.timothysministry.org/
Timothy’s Ministry first began in December 2002 as God’s answer to my prayer after I cried out to God on my knees the day before my son Tim’s birthday (Tim passed away the year before). I remember saying, “Help me, God, if only I could have had the simple joy of baking Tim a cake, what I would have given.”
This idea and plan for Timothy’s Ministry was completely God-orchestrated and it can only be God who continues to bring each of us together every other Sunday as a family. Regardless of where a person lives, their situation in life, or their faith background, God continues to bring all of us together on these special Sundays as a family in His love.
I would also give money to the animals or homeless or sheltered animals.
What else would I do? I would open a used book store. I would ask for donations and sell books and then part of the proceeds go to my community of either homeless, or animals or some type of FEMA thing.
I would attend Law School in Chicago Il and finally do what I long to do and that is to become an attorney.
I would also publish my own books and open my own publishing company at a price Everyone could afford, and if they couldn’t afford it, then I would ask them to help me in one of my ministries by donating their time to our newsletters, mailings, phone calls, or prayer ministry.
So this is off the top of my head for today and I think that is all I would do, oh and buy myself a new car as I will need one for all the things I plan to do with the money and traveling too.
