Hello and welcome to Day 13 (Feb 15) of the 21-Day Fitness Challenge! :D

Day 13 – What Do You Love About Exercising?

Today’s question is: What do you love about exercising?

I love exercising because it invigorates me. Some may think that you feel more tired when you exercise, but on the contrary, I feel better after a great workout – not just physically, but mentally, emotionally, and perhaps even spiritually, because I’m aligned as one with my body.

I also love exercising because it keeps me in shape. Sometimes when I don’t exercise for a while, I’ll feel pudgy! Exercising is a great way to burn off those fats and get rid of love handles (nothing wrong with them of course; if you love them, by all means – keep them!).

Another thing I love about exercising are the subtle physical benefits which come by after a few days of consistent workouts. My posture is better – I don’t slouch as much in my natural posture. My breathing is calm, steady, and regulated. My ankles are stronger – I don’t feel tired as I would in the past, when standing, walking around, or wearing heels. I sleep better and more soundly – I fall asleep almost right away when I go to bed, and I wake up a short 6 hours later – well rested and ready to go.

Last but not least – this may well be a placebo effect, but I feel my exercising sessions in the past week have improved my mental focus. I’m definitely more alert than before – it’s like I’m operating on a higher mental OS (Operating System), in computing terms!

How about you? What do you love about exercising? And are you seeing these benefits manifest as you stay true to your daily fitness sessions?

Since I have a 1-hour kickboxing class later in the evening, I decided to opt out of my morning gym session – and instead use the time to get some higher level work done (been looking to hire a designer and a virtual assistant for some of my administrative tasks, and finally getting to it now!).

Also, I had another idea to further streamline my daily (fitness) sessions. Since I walk to the gym by default now, I realized that I can just jog my walk to the gym. So instead of 30 minutes of walking, I can now get there in 10-12 minutes – not only do I have a workout in the process, I’m also shaving time off. And, instead of showering at the gym and having to carry a big bag of clothes/shoes/toiletries, it’s much simpler if I just get to the gym, get my workout done (while doing my morning emails/lower level work done), have lunch after, then return home to shower. Perfect morning routine. I definitely see myself comfortably doing this for the long term.

Will report here on my kickboxing progress later at night. :D

Just finished my kickboxing session. It was hardcore!! Walking home now. Plans for tomorrow = gym as usual in the morning. :D

      • Great Celes….
Its awesome how this challenge has introduced all of us to so many new, unexplored fronts……

    Hi,
I just wanted to let you know although I have not posted anything so far (sorry, no time and can’t seem to find the forum to do so). Started later than I the rest. Day 10 completed this morning. Loving every minute of it!!! My 4:30am alarm call is no longer a chore. Doing a combination of early morning runs (x3 a week and did my first 5km race last weekend – been 3 years since I last ran for fun) and the rest of the days I swim and do strength work at the gym before work!
Thanks for the challenge. Will most definately continue after the 21 days.
    Mandi
PS, Love your blog. Stumbled on it when researching some stuff for work and visit often. It is very inspiring.

    • Better late than never….
hope to see you find the tini-est bits of time, to come over to the forum and post up any bits or pieces from your days experience….
      good day….

Yep, like ASLO said – better late than never. ;) Congratulations on your 10 Day mark!! :D

    • Welcome back ^^ I totally agree with ASLO :D

Exercising is really great so just be a bit more patient, a abit more determined  That’s all you need

    • 4:30am – wow!!! Kudos to you for not only managing it, but getting on top of this as a routine – way to go!!

45 minutes of biking and 10 minutes of stretching. Had a rough day yesterday, can’t seem to meditate.

As Celes mentioned above, I love how I feel after I exercise and I use it as a way to combat my anxiety and sleeping problems. It improves my overall well being.

  4. Exercising makes me feel refreshed after each workout session.
Although in general sweat is unpleasant, when I exercise and feel the sweat coming out of my pores I know I’m eliminating toxins which is great for my organism. Also, my posture has improved, my resistance to effort, even my acne has ameliorated :D Besides, I’ve lost a bit of weight so I feel more confident about myself.

I’ve just finished my 30 minutes workout routine and I did some stretching exercises after :)
Hope you’re all having a nice day!

    • Celes
      Celes 13 years ago

Congratulations on the improvement of your acne condition, Lina! :D (I had to look up the meaning of the word “ameliorate” o_O) Might be all the exercising I’ve been doing which is sealing in the merits of fitness for me – I actually associate positive intentions now with the process of sweating while working out. Like you said, it’s the toxins being eliminated. Also, fats being burned, muscles being built, limbs becoming leaner, body becoming stronger. Bring it on, sweat!!!!

      • Thank you, Celes! :D Haha, I just wanted to avoid using “improve” again xD So I used the synonym for it.
Who would have thought there would be a day when we’d actually feel happy about sweating in a certain context? Seems that 21DFC really got to us and changed more than just our bodies – our mentalities and moods.

  5. Mirror on the wall, here we are again
    Through my rise and fall
    You’ve been my only friend
You told me that by looking at me you can see
the reflection of hard word, determination and willpower exulting from within thee
That’s what i love about exercising, seeing positive results….I can not just see but also feel lighter….by lighter, i mean not just in terms of weight but also in terms of mental postures…exercise is a perfect stress-buster….it lets you untie the suffocating tethers of tension and stress and fly out with the wings of endorphin….so in a nutshell, seeing positive results from exercise is what i love most……
If you’d ask me, where is exercise taking me? i’d say, NOWHERE……by that i mean, exercise doesn’t take me anywhere but instead brings me NOW HERE…..making the most of the best day, thats today….good un Bette….
Today i got underway the routine, but in the core, everyday more different and new-teaching 35 minute walk….later would want to get underway with cycling…..
BTW, had this poem from longoes…..“Row, row, row your boat, gently down the stream, merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily, life is but a dream……”
Uh huh, all of us are meant to persevere our interests, passions, dreams, ambitions….yet never forget, the best thrills of reaching a destination do not only lie in actually reaching there, but the journey to getting there has its own share of memorable sights…so gently row to your dream….after all, all you dream for is to turn to the reality of life…….
    A bit to far-fetched perhaps?
Love, peace and fitness to all

    • Today managed to hit the 1 hr mark….got in 25 minutes of cycling (plus the initial 35 mins of walk)……
really proud of myself, wouldn’t have been possible if i wouldn’t have felt inspired by y’all’s truly amazing and dedicated hard work, fuels me to try to work harder on my side too…….yipeeee

    • BTW, just so happens that the little “Row, Row your boat” is one of my favorite little songs!
That was a lovely surprise to see here, all comforting with all your gentle words that go along with i  Not too far-fetched for me, ASLO… :D

  6. Hey everyone, turns out that interval workouts work just as well if not better than hour long workouts!! was just reading this over at NYtimes. http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/

thought it may be helpful if you are finding the challenge to take up time when you don’t have it.

    -Brian

    • it’s the same concept of “body of science” or “4 hour body” I was referring in a preovious post.

And why it’s not good multitasking. If you do..as example 10′ intense cycling + 10 minutes checking e.mails, than it’s much better than 20′ checking e.mails while cycling slowly ;)

      • Celes
        Celes 13 years ago

That’s under the assumption that ‘multitasking’, or doing other things while doing the desired activity, has a detrimental effect on the activity itself. I can’t say I agree with it – it depends on the activity in question. Not all forms of multi-tasking is bad. Likewise, not all forms of single-tasking is good. And vice versa.

For example, I’ve actually been doing an astronomically higher number of consecutive reps for my leg curls than I’ve ever done before since I started syncing my work with fitness sessions (like over 200 at one go type of thing). And on a higher weight load too. Where work/article writing is concerned, I’m getting a fluid flow in my ideas and thoughts as I do it while working out. It appears that by combining my work/email/etc activities with my workouts, I’m actually gaining in both areas – creating a synergistic effect.

That’s only the case though because I’ve intentionally picked/combined certain work and certain fitness activites which, when done together, creates a synergistic/bundled result (for me). For example, it’s definitely not going to work if I choose to do video editing (which can get quite intense) while I’m at the gym. Neither is it of any benefit for me to try to check emails/surf the web while jogging/using the treadmill – I’ll probably trip and fall, very badly too at that. And so on.

My recommendation is just do whatever makes you happy, whatever will ensure the continuation of the habit, be it multitasking or focusing solely on the fitness activity itself. Whatever rocks your boat. ;D The end goal here is to cultivate fitness as a lifelong habit via taking the path of highest enjoyment, not to see how we can squeeze the most out of our fitness sessions, IMO – which may sometimes backfire and lead one to resist the exercises, instead? I’m sure some people can relate to this phenomenon. The ironic thing though, is that as we associate higher and higher levels of enjoyment in our fitness/activities, it will naturally result in higher performance. Same thing for any other area in our life, really (be it career, relationships, etc).

I love the way it makes me feel, when I am so tired from excersise I still feel so energized & alive

Another great day on holidays, so easy to consentrate on exercising as you can vary it so much while enjoying it, today I walked over 2 hours around Georgetown Penang Malaysia weather perfect, got back to the hotel went swimming for 30 minutes followed by more walking through the night market on the street.

    • Wow~~ Are you from Penang? I’m from Penang too! ^^

It’s been long time that I didn’t hang around in Georgetown. Keep it up! :)

  9. Honestly, I seldom exercise in the past, should say, I didn’t practice exercising weekly until last October. I’m still in the progress of embarking my interests towards exercise, so that I have full zest on it. :)

I remember, when I first decided to exercise 3 times a week, I noticed that I always feel tired after exercising, my eyes got smaller and smaller and I always yawn. So I slowly drop the practice. =.=”

Recently, I returned to the exercise practice. At first, I still feel tired, but after a month, I started to feel that I’m still fresh after exercising~~ ^^

However, today, still I did only 10 minutes stretching because of the internet connection issue at my home. When I was about to start to exercise, my house’s internet connection dropped, so my brother and I were trying to fix it. After one hour only we managed to fix it. :(

Tomorrow, I have the plan like last Thursday, go for gym after my class, then continue to my zither class. ^^

  10. I like exercising because it makes me feel better. I notice I have less energy dips.

Today I spent an hour in the gym http://www.enjoyfitness.nl/ on a treadmill. :D

    Tomorrow yoga and more running.

Hey Raymond, are you on a gym membership? :D

      • I indeed have a gym membership. Together with my wife. She goes spinning twice a week. Never got the hang of that.
During summer, cycling outside is our favorite activity. Last year we cycled to Paris (550km) and back. But not in one day ;-)

        • Celes
          Celes 13 years ago

I never tried spinning before. I think it’s more of a western thing – When I was in the West, I noticed spinning classes in the gyms I went to – but here they aren’t that common (if at all). That said – They look really intense! Definitely for those who want a *serious* workout. :D

  11. What Do You Love About Exercising?

Some of the benefits I think I gained through exercise:

    1. Being more alert
    2. Getting fast results
    3. Body feels better and lighter

Physical activities I did, and how long I did them: I did chair squats, chair dips, the plank and skipping. Total time taken was 12 minutes or more.

    • Wow, those exercises will get you fit in no time! I’m not sure I could manage a combination of those for 4 minutes, let alone 12! Keep up the great work – and glad you’re seeing results quickly :)

      • I am not sure what to say, you flattered me, zingfairy!  Thank you,

        AND GOOD LUCK!!!!!

  12. Today 30′ yoga in the morning.
In the afternoon 33′ running (actually 25’+ 8 walking to recover and take pict of the park). There were 5-6 C, I had new running shoes and shirts and I was rested because I didn’t run in the last 3 days, and I manage to do my usual park lap in 35′ instead of 30+ as usually, despite I still had some food on my stomach that made me difficult breathing.. and I didn’t feel really tired afterwords!..really happy with my progresses..I love this new app which give me some info on my workout

I always loved team sports because it’s playing, it’s funny, the camaraderie with teammates, the competition..the list is too long

I use not like “exercise” just for fitness. As I said in a previous post, in my teens and over I could play sports for hours at high intensity without getting tired, but put me in a gym or running alone and after 15′ I just want to do something else.
But thanks to yoga I found a way of physical exercise as a way to listen to my body. Not just feeling my muscles, but my internal organs, and more important, my mind.

i love going beyond my limits, I love also feeling tired after the workout, it’s “good” tired, like spaced, in another dimension. And of course I love feeling stronger, calmer and more present to reality when I recovered

    • ops, my lap around the park I did it in 25′, not 35′ :p

      • Celes
        Celes 13 years ago

Hey cloudio, great job on your time improvement in your run! 5 minutes is a HUGE improvement. What team sports do you normally play?

  13. I love exercising because I know that it let’s use lead a more healthy lifestyle and my body will be better for it. Part of my dream ideal of myself is to be a fit, healthy, and active person, so when I’m not exercising or living a healthy lifestyle, it kind of depresses me and makes me feel unfulfilled.
I also love exercising because most of the time when you are done you feel really good. Your mind is clear, your body can feel tired and therefore you avoid the problem of going to be when your mind is super tired, but your body isn’t ready for bed yet and staying awake for a long time.
Another part of exercising that I love is that it helps in your appearance and energy level. When you are fit, you feel better about the way you look and your energy level is normally quite higher. You feel ready to take on the world.

My exercise for the day was walking for 20 minutes. I didn’t have time to do much else, so I just decided to actually go out and do something compared to not doing anything for the day.
    Keep at it!

    • Hi Mike!

With 20 mins exercising today you are taking the steps towards your dreams!! Go for gold!! :)

  14.  Woohoo I can’t stop my contentment
Today is surely a great day  My school has cross country and we have to run 3.5 km ( for girls)
It was so refreshing. I went 30th out of 140 or 150 girls. :p It was so tiring during the run and the weather was so so so windy @.@. It likes my mind was blown away  But the only thing I could think of, was ” keep running, you can do it and you have to try your best”. Seriously, that’s the only thing to pop up in my mind @.@. To be honest, I’m satisfied and proud of myself because I did my best and didn’t give up easily. Last year, I was so lazy and I choosed to walk instead of running =.=”

Another exciting point is I can confidently say that my strength is improved. Thanks to all exercises I’ve been doing these days, I felt absolutely okay after the run. If it was before the challenge, I would literally collapse with numb legs. So I’m so happy now

    >>>> What do I love about exercising : There are so many reasons now :p I love the feeling after workouts. It’s like a wave of freshness and coolness. And doing exercises is quite relaxing because I get rid of all the random and trivial thinkings. It clears my mind ^^
Like I just said earlier, my health and my posture improve a lot . Oh, doing exercises in the morning is truly a good start for a new day, I suppose . Last but not least, I just notice that I smile more recently. :) Since I don’t feel tired and sleepy all the time, I enjoy my classes and my school more.

    • That is exciting, Linh!
Doing your best and not giving up is a great mindset! I am so glad you are reaping the rewards of this 21DFC!
I enjoy the way you describe the many reasons you love exercising.
Love the smiling more recently one :D
Surely sounds like you have so much to smile about!
      Bette

  15. Hi,
During these days, I feel myself more active due to exercising.. my stamina is improved .. due to past 30DHL challenge, the food intake is also improve and due to exercising the energy consumption is improved and I feel myself and my stomach much lighter …

Today carried out regular exercise for 1 hour..

    • well done on continuing your routine! as I think I may have commented before, 1 hour is great stuff :)

  16. Today I feel I’m getting back into my exercise regime, with a 7.2km walk.

A few years ago I lost 3 stone (both by eating much more healthily on a strict vegan diet, and plenty of exercise) to weigh under 8 stone and amongst the benefits I found:

    – my asthma disappearing
    – lots of energy, I remember going out shopping and just feeling the need to RUN everywhere, instead of plodding the streets like the average pedestrian! super-zing
    – the joy of looking at my body and seeing a slim figure from any angle!
    – self-confidence in my appearance
    – a massive mood improvement (going from depressed to bubbly)
    – the warm self-righteous feeling of knowing you’re doing the right thing by your body

I’d love to get back to that state, even if not quite that weight!

I suppose the results are the thing I most love about exercising, although sometimes the actual doing can be joyous too! :)

    • Love hearing about all the wonderful results of your exercising, zingfairy.
You are definitely, definitely, super-sizing your zingitude!
      You are, in fact, zingitudinous!
And, may I say that your results give zing-worthy results to continue on and on…
Your joyousness in “the actual doing” will keep you keepin’ on track for sure!  :D
I love the image of you zing-zing-zingin’ along!!!

  17. Kate Britt 13 years ago

I like exercising for all the same reasons Celes and others here have already described. It’s a great long list, and all of it true for me as well. If I had to prioritize one reason over the others, I’d say it’s the endorphins — the sense of well-being that comes with being active.

I also have to be honest and say this: I like exercising because it gets the exercise part of the day OVER WITH! Yup, it’s hilarious. But it’s also true.

To boost those endorphins, I like being ACTIVE, which to me is a very different thing from “exercising”. I feel like I maybe should have been born in another era, a time when each day’s essential activities were also the way people kept fit — things like the labor involved in keeping up the farm, working in the mine, or ditch-digging, or mixing art paints from the minerals I just went digging for in the hills, or stomping and dancing in the grapes to make wine, or churning butter…. you get the idea. Now most of our lives are so much less physically demanding, so we invent ways to keep our bodies moving and involved. I don’t like artificial exercise. I don’t mean to offend anybody here, but when I’m passing by the window of a gym with all those people in there running like crazy toward me on a sliding platform, or cycling their buns off on a bike that goes nowhere, etc. I just think it looks crazy and I have to laugh at the whole concept. Yet in order to keep fit, I sometimes have to get caught up in all that.

I mean, isn’t it hilarious that since the industrial revolution mankind has been inventing devices to make our work be less work, less physically demanding, generally to make living a whole lot easier on our bodies, and then we all began to get unfit and stout, and then we had to start inventing devices to help us get back to using our bodies more?

This is the main reason I prefer walking, hiking, swimming, outdoorsy type activities to keep fit. It feels more natural, more like what my body’s movement skills were meant for.

    Climbing off soapbox now…. :p
    ——–

Today’s activity? I felt really, really lazy. Had to do some in-car errands, then took my sweetie for brunch, after which I felt so heavy and sluggish. But you know what? I still did my workout! On the elliptical machine, going nowhere fast, LOL.

    • Love this post, Kate….yes it is hilarious inventing machines that make life less physically demanding, growing bigger bodies and then inventing devices so we can be more physically active!
I too like the more natural, out-of doors activities.
But then again, whatever gets it done, is all good, right?
      …the elliptical…what a trouper!
Oh and I love the honest truth part about what you like about exercising sometimes is to to get that part of the day over with! ! !
.Sometimes the body just needs a day of rest. There is something to be said for “doing nothing” once and again…

  18. Had a hectic day, so I only did thirty sit-ups :(

I honestly don’t think I’ll ever truly love exercise. I’ve always seen it as more of a way to discipline myself.
I guess it’s like, as much as I’d love to just win the lottery and go on shopping sprees for the rest of my life, that is just not gonna happen. We all have to work our butt off to put food on the table.
So of course Exercise is pretty much the only way I’ll ever achieve a healthy, slim body and clear stress/anger.
Everything will always take real effort.
I’m sorry if this sounds negative (and didn’t make sense), but it’s just how I see ‘exercise’. :shy:

Day 14 go team go!

    • Yea-ah, Rosa, sometimes reality just bites!
I’m with the more be physically active, do activities that I love thing, than mechanical stuff,
Although when I focus on exercising my body using the bands, I like the feeling of stretching and moving and being supported, so to say, by the bands.(using my muscles in opposition to the stretch of the bands.)
Yes, and the things that take real effort usually come with great rewards
Anyway, I appreciate your honesty, and your doing things that are good for your body, even if it is not your favorite thing. But my hope for you would be that you are physically active in ways that you enjoy. :D ….
Oh, and that you win the lottery! ;) But do tell me you would do more than the shopping sprees for the rest of your life, lol!

      Bette

    • Kate Britt 13 years ago

I’ve been in exactly that same headspace about exercise too, Rosa. I don’t love “exercise” (to put it mildly). Somehow I got to really resenting the fact that I have to workout to stay fit. It’s like a big bad fault in the design of the human body, right?

During this challenge, I’ve been really working hard on finding ways to transform this way of thinking. To adjust my attitude. A few days into this challenge, I realized I need just as much work on my attitude as I do on getting fit. The good news is, there ARE ways to transform attitude!

I’ve been calling it “tricking myself” and I’ll mention a couple of ideas, hoping maybe they help you.

–> I don’t “exercise” anymore. I “do something active.” (The mind-trick is to switch the wording to something that feels more natural. “Doing exercise” seems artificial to me, and so I’ll never convince myself to exercise every day. But keeping active, that’s a goal that can be met in lots of more natural ways.)
–> You said, “exercise is the only way to achieve a healthy, slim body and clear stress/anger”. Could be true, but here’s the mind-trick. Instead of “I’m exercising to reduce my stress”, switch it around to “I’m reducing my stress.” Subtle indeed, but it seems to work. So, for example, I’m not “going for a run”; instead, I’m “heading out for some stress-reduction time.”
–> Completely focus on the internal (mental, emotional, spiritual) benefits rather than the physical benefits. Make those the goal, rather than making exercise the goal. If the mind is in it, the body will follow. This mind-trick makes it way easier for me because I believe that transformation happens from the inside out. So if I know I feel down or tired or lazy, that’s internal. I know how to boost my mood and my energy (doing something active). So I go and do it. If I don’t let myself think, “Arghhh, I have to go do a work out now,” but rather think, “I’m gonna do something to boost my energy” — well then doing the workout is just another way to help myself internally.

You know how people say, “Man, I could really use a strong cup of coffee!” They feel the internal issue, then they jump to the known fix. So the solution (the cup of coffee) is only a method to achieve the real goal, which is the mood or energy boost.

Maybe it’s just a mind-game. But then, how’s that different from enforcing the “body-game” of daily exercise? Both methods are ways to accomplish the same change, right?

Hope this makes some sense. It’s a really hard thing to describe. But changing my thinking this way has made ALL the difference for me!

      • Thank you for this post, Kate. This has really helped me to turn things over in more ways that one. I am very happy to include in my magic bag of tricks these suggestions, so like a quote easy to find in a file box, I can find these suggestions to keep me ACTIVE!

      • Thank you for your reply, Kate (and Bette!). I am going to apply this way of thinking starting on Day 15 (and for the rest of my life) :shy:

  19. I’ve been thinking about doing an early morning work out for a while now. I have obligatory late nights and love sleep, so 4 hours of sleep sounds extremely challenging. I end up at the gym late morning but would prefer it to be the first thing I do. However, I do see the great benefits of starting your day off with exercise and working out every day. Thanks Celeste for the post, it will help push me in the right direction! ; )
    @thedsilva on twitter

  20. I’m a day behind with my updates here.

For day 13 I went for another long walk. I had to trim my walk back to around 90 minutes as my feet were getting a bit sore. The Vibrams weren’t as comfortable today, and I would have easily ended up with a couple of blisters if I’d gone another hour. I think I just need to get some low cut toe socks to wear with them.

When I finish writing here, I’ll be off for another walk (day 14). I might go barefoot this time. Hopefully there won’t be any broken glass around.

    • I forgot to answer the question :)

I’m not sure if there’s anything I love about exercising. If anything, just the fact that I know I’m making an effort and actually doing some kind of physical activity. Not just sitting around all day.

  21. Sorry, this is a very late reply but I didn’t find the time to past last night.

Wednesday night i coach our ladies hockey team; so while I was coaching tonight, I made sure I was active and joined is as much as I could. It’s probably not as beneficial as a gym session but I still get an hours worth of activity.

What I love about exercising; well, it’s a great way to clear the mind of the baggage from the day. I don’t listen ti anything while I’m exercising; instead I constantly talk to myself (in my head) about doing just a little more, or simply keeping a rhythm while rowing, cycling or walking.

When I’ve finished and get into that great, warm shower, I’m able to completely relax and let everything drain away with the water. A very cathartic experience for me.

    See you all tomorrow :)

  22. I’m a day late on reporting, but – Yesterday I was hit by stomach crams. I didn’t do anything strentanous, but I walked the dog and did some normal walking while I was heading to school and back home.

What I love about exercising (not when I have stomach crams though!): I like the feeling after exercising, whether it’s swimming or jogging. It also clears my mind.

  23. DAY 13

WHAT I LOVE ABOUT EXERCISING

When I exercise, I open up the dialogue between my body and my mind. If my body has a voice, what would it say? How is it feeling? What does it need? :?:
When I exercise, I expand my body’s ability for healing to course through my veins. My body feels a quickening, a lightness.
I feel more centered, balanced, calm.
I am less serious and more ready to have fun and laugh.
I feel stronger, brighter, and clearer in my mind.
I feel more inspired and creative.
I feel less overwhelmed and more in charge and I get things done more efficiently. No more procrastinating!
Exercise facilitates my weight loss program. I drop pounds and inches . :D
Some of my clothes become too sloppy big (time to donate or toss!)
Less is more. Eat more quality food, and less is more.
“Energy begets energy.” I do not feel drained and tired, I feel enlivened and invigorated!
I feel more energy, not less, after I exercise. :D

With regular exercise, I relax and sleep more deeply.
Relaxing FEELS more relaxing when I have had a good workout.
Exercise is no longer a dreaded drudgery. :!:
It is a joy and freedom from the bondage of a sedentary life! :D

    Day 13
I worked with the bands and did exercises and stretching. for about 20 minutes.
Tomorrow is swimming in the ocean!

    • BTW, i don’t if i missed information from the previous posts but are you in the Caribbean on holiday or you stay there?
Exercise is no longer drudgery, i too, and am sure, many more here feel the same……
keep up with the good work…and the even gooder ( :p ) posts…..

      • Yes, ASLO, I did mention a couple of times, SOMEwhere, not sure which day, which posts, that I am here in the Caribbean for the winter months, and return to North Carolina in the beginning of April, returning again for the winter months. My lifelong friend and I have a home here, and we are considering what it would take to move here full-time. Been coming here for 10 years like this. BIG considerations in order to make a BIG move.

Glad to hear that exercise is no longer a drudgery. How great is THAT!?!

oh, and ASLO, I think I have written posts to you sometimes after the day you have written yours, but I no longer remember where they are. I also wrote yesterday and all through the night last night a lonnnnnnnnnnng post in reply to a comment/request that Celes made about my journey with weight/food addiction. (after I made that post about all the pounds I’ve dropped.)

Isn’t it surprising the difference in the time you think something will take…like, “oh , I’ll just write a quick reply to that” and “wow that took me most of 8 hours (or more?)!”
I find that fascinating. But when I am doing what I love, and that is communicating/being in a dialogue/writing/sharing/creative writing, time just does not exist. Morning becomes evening, and the stars say it is no longer afternoon, and my eyes and yawns tell me it’s time to sleep…etc…you get the idea…! :D

And when I exercise, time sorta just melts away and any tensions melt, and pounds and inches melt, and I’m just melting in the aura of opening up my body for healing and transformation.

        • Oh that’s what i love about your posts Bette…long yet not dreary or terribly long winded….that’s an awesome trait and only a few are blessed with that…..
That’s the power of this challenge…and nothing in the world can equal the joy of allowing expression and more importantly the joy of appreciation…..that’s how the forum helps us grow and attain Personal Excellence…..time/thirst/hunger heck even a typhoon wouldn’t deter my attention from the laptop when i’m on the forum…over-exaggerating in the last bit perhaps :?: ;)
And when I exercise, time sorta just melts away and any tensions melt, and pounds and inches melt, and I’m just melting in the aura of opening up my body for healing and transformation. nice poetic, persuasive, inspiring touch to it………

      • Just found your reply just when I needed to hear it! That was a great surprise…it was on Day 11 and I just wrote you back over there…it was the post relating to:
“RISING UP LIKE EAGLES”…

        WRITE ON!
        :D
