(a) Why you want to cultivate meditation
To use more of my brain, to develop harmony between both sides of my brain, to relax, to be more present, to develop new ideas, to gain insight into various things including my own self.
(b) Time of your daily meditation
First thing in the morning if I slept well. Otherwise, after my wife leaves to take our children to school. Also, whenever I need a quick pick-me-up, calming, or transition to a new project during the day.
(c ) Duration
Minimum 10 minutes each time. I'll do a longer session at least once a week.
(d) Type of meditation you are going to do
I usually do breathing and mindfulness. I'll be experimenting with tai chi, guided, binaural subliminal, and others. Basically, a menu from which I'll choose by mood and then current need.
(e) What you wish to get out of your 21-day meditation journey
To be more present. Enhanced sense of creativity and new ideas. Improved insight of myself. A new habit.

I just completed 32 minutes of meditation. It went well for the most part. My youngest daughter barged into my room during the deepest part and I couldn't recover afterward. I did not allow this to upset me though. I'll work on communicating my need for privacy better as well as timing meditations during less active times at home.
I sat in a chair in my office with a pleasant smelling candle lit. When my eyes felt the need to open I focused on the candle.
I chose a Deepak Chopra album I have. I have so much to practice still. Every day is a new opportunity for practice.
My next meditation will definitely be in the morning.

I meditated for 7 minutes today. My only real need tonight was to clear my head to make way for some creative thinking and I was completely able to. I just listened to some music and did some awareness work. I chose my office chair again with a lit candle. I felt that I more smoothly brought my awareness back to center than usual. I was able to come up with some new ideas on my projects.
