Hi Kirsten,
that's great. thank you for the links.:)
Yoga is on my list as well, (or alternatively tai chi). Not really sure where/how to start - I've been investigating local classes, but have not found one which is near with classes after working hours or weekends.

Hi Kirsten.

I practice yoga on my own, but plan to take yoga classes in Asia during my trip from Nov - April.

I am trying to cultivate the habit of meditation.

Hi Kirsten,
thanks for the links. I'm practising yoga also, at the moment hot yoga, which is hatha yoga in the room where the temperature is higher than body temperature. Earlier I tried astanga yoga and have also tried yoga on my own.

I would recommend all types of yoga and if possible try to take some lessons first, then it's easier to continue on your own.

Hi Kirsten!

I started practising Yoga since 18 (around 2002, with my dad). Back then, I was having some health problems (physically & mentally). Yoga did me good.

I stopped for a while and started again by signing up at a local gym when I got my present job in a bank. It was a big risk because I had to pay for membership fees (but that's the kind of thing I do to FORCE myself to exercise). I usually go for morning 7am Yoga classes. There was Hatha, Ashtanga, Hot and Yoga therapy.

I like ABC of Yoga too! I followed the site for a while.

Right now I just do some of the stretching poses as and when I can especially at my desk-bound job. When I want to calm my mind, I do the balancing poses.

Like Maria says, try to take lessons first as the Yogi will correct your poses, guide you as to where you should feel the stretch and what you should achieve at the end of each pose.

I really enjoy Rodney Yee's AM/PM yoga dvd. -Its great for beginners. And I have heard great things about his Power Yoga series which you can get in a collection I believe is called Rodney Yee's Best Of or something along those lines.

I remember when I first started doing Yoga and how good it would make me feel. I would wake up like at 4 am and do the AM routine; leaving me refreshed for the entire day. And even though beginning yoga is some what easy to preform; the benefits are amazing. Especially when it comes to overall toning.

-Best of Luck

You know, I had a yoga video that I really liked that I gave to a friend. It was called "yoga for every body" and it had around 70 yoga flow series that you could do all on one DVD.

I'm not sure who it was put out by though, great DVD for all levels, it has beginner under 30 minutes category, over 30 minutes, intermediate under/over 40 minutes, and advanced under/over minutes.

I do yoga with a group at work about once a week when I have time, not as frequently and regularly as I should have.

I'm planning to start doing yoga daily with my girlfriend starting from next week. I need a bit of relaxation since I'm too hyperactive.

Well, I am also doing yoga. Yoga or exercise helps not only to reduce the body weight but it also helps to fit the body. Now a days various types of fitness centers are helping in maintaining the body of the human being. I had recently joined the Iron flower fitness center where I am getting great experience over there.
