Hi Sue, I've heard great things about early waking and aspire to enter that world myself in the near future. Also, I've a goal to incorporate meditations. Are you using any guided meditations? Also, what do you use as a timer/alarm so that you know how long you've been meditating without peeking?

Sue,

You have had an amazing 6 days with the meditation and yoga as well as taking care of your family! I tried meditation once this week. It was a goal to do everyday and I actually forgot that until I saw your post-thank you for the reminder!!;) I found several timed meditation music sessions on youtube that I used and enjoyed but could not find any music that was exactly 20 minutes or even 10 for that matter. My dog decided it was time to play when I got on the floor so I only meditated (or sat with my eyes closed laughing on and off at the dog) for 10 minutes and then did gentle stretching and yoga for another 10. Do you have any helpful hints to share about your meditation from this week? I am definately going to shut my door next time to keep the dog out.

Have a great weekend!

Stephanie

Hi Robyn, I am still in the try and error stage on meditation. I did not have any guided meditation, sometime 20 minutes considered very long for me as my mind still cannot focus 100%. I set alarm in my handphone for beep tone after 20 minutes to notify me on the timeup.
Thanks everyone for your support and great to hear that some of you have the same goal as me. Please find following for my update from Day 7 to 9.

Day 7
I wake up at 5.30am and meditated and managed to attend yoga class for an hour. I did not spend much time with family as i had the company party in the evening.

Day 8
I wake up late due to the Friday night party, so i did not do meditation. However i still forced myself to attend yoga class for an hour. After that i had the afternoon nap for 3 hours. I felt the party was too tiring for me. Luckily it only happen once in a blue moon.

Day 9
I wake up at 7.30am and meditated for 15 minutes and attended the yoga class for an hour. I want my family to had healthy food, so i cooked today. I cooked vegetable soup, beans and mushroom and they enjoyed. But i still find cooking is very time consuming and tiring. I am impressed and wondering how some working mother can do it everyday. At night, i watched the cartoon together with my son.

For the meditation, i noticed that i got the better focus compared to day 1. I choose the time where nobody will disturb me which is during early morning about 5.30am. I sat quietly on the meditation pose with close eye, my focus point is on the space between the eyes with slow breathing.

Let all of us work the challenge together. :)

My update on Day 10 to Day 17.

The progress for this few day is a bit slow. Most of the time i cannot wake up at my ideal time 5a.m. Then i will skip meditation and exercise. Then i will start my busy day until night and felt regret after that with the unproductive plan.

Luckily i am able to meet my routine yoga class 3-4 time per week. At least i did not find excuse to skip the class.
Self exercise is very difficult for me but i will try my best to break it to ensure i exercise every day.

For the next few days, i must ensure i can wake up early at 5am to spend 20 minutes on meditation.

I feel great that i had spend quality time with my son every days eventhought only a short 1/2 hour sometime. I put myself as his friend and talk to him about his school progress. I want him to enjoy his childhood and do not stress much on his result. Most important is he feel happy. He will kiss me whenever he feel like to, i felt so sweet and worth spend time with him. :)

I will work hard on the balance of another 4 days to ensure i can meet all my goal. Gambateh!
