Hello all. I'm semi-new to this site. Been here for about a month and finally decided to join the forums/discussions.
This site has already helped and motivated me in a lot of ways.
I'm 19 years old and still having trouble figuring out my life purpose.

I've done the exercise countless times and there are things which I would love to do, but I wouldn't call it a "purpose". I don't get that inspirational "ah ha!" moment. I don't burst into tears or have a sudden explosion of emotion.

I don't have much life experience as of yet. I have suffered from a severe anxiety disorder and agoraphobia, which has kept me from living my life to the fullest. I am currently in the process of trying to work through it.
I'm going to have to get a job soon, and seeing as I have no experience it will probably be a retail job. Not something I want to do, but I have no options.

I want to go to school next January, but without a clear purpose in mind I have no idea what to go to school for.

Is there something I am doing wrong? Is anyone else having this problem?

I appreciate any comments anyone has on the subject.

I've tried the exercise a few times too. I haven't had too much luck in the explosion of emotion part either, haha.

I've instead taken to writing out my thoughts each day to help clear my mind, and working on the life-purpose exercise every few days or so when I feel up to it. I feel as if I'm getting closer, but I'm still not there. I also try to ask myself directly after each thing I write, "What is it about this that resonates with me?" and if I do that a few times I come up with something that gets me much more excited/emotional than before. I haven't "hit it" yet, but I do believe I'm making progress. =)

I'm sorry if that isn't as helpful as you wanted. I just thought I'd at least let you know you're not alone. Good luck, and I hope you find your answer soon.

Hi, I'm Alexa, though I often go by Calae. Call me whichever you prefer. =)
