Day 1

To tell you the truth, working on myself is much easier than dealing with other people - I can be quickly pissed by my husband! For example, today I got my blood test results (for hormones) - the picture is getting better, but it's still far from being perfect. So I called my husband and told him, and he started this song "the reason of your problems is because you don't eat chicken and meat". This is stupid! I just can't stay calm when he or his mom begin to teach me how to live. They even say something like "You won't have kids if you don't eat meat!". Is this normal?! How can I not overreact? I tried to stop the conversation before it turned into argument - but I see that I need to learn not to react to other people. This is my life and I'm going to live up to my own values.

As for the steps I've made to Ideal Me: I arranged an appointment with my cosmetologist and now I'm planning to apply some tanning lotion:) I knew it would be hard a journey, but I will do my best!

Day 2

I scheduled another appointment - on Friday I'm having my eyelashes done. I want them long and thick:) I usually get tired of everything artificial soon, but I hope to be prettier at least for the time being!

I bought some cute home wear - want my hubby to see me beautiful, not as a regular housewife (which I'm obviously not).

I also did my hair today and looked good. After work my husband paying a lot of attention to me, maybe due to my good looks ;)

Didn't exercise, but walked for about 1 hour, enjoying the nice weather.

Day 3

I had my eyelashes done - now they are so long and nice:) Don't look fake though, I like them!

I did my hair again, braided them in a cute way.

In the past 3 weeks I've lost 3 kilos!!! Now I feel so light and pretty!

Taking care of my appearance is a lot of fun! And trying to be an Ideal Woman is great too - today I did the cleaning up and felt as a real housewife:D A rear feeling for me, I must admit - that's why I enjoyed it very much :P

Day 4

My husband told me that I'm beautiful and took me out to the movies:) A little improvement which only inspires me to try harder with my challenge :P

Day 5

It really gets hard sometimes - especially when someone I care for starts criticizing me. Today was one of those days. I know I'm not a housewife deep inside, I just don't like all this cleaning and cooking stuff! I do it anyway, but honestly I'd rather not. My husband seems not to mind this, but I just can't believe it, and sometimes his phrases say the opposite. Like, today he complained about my not cleaning the WC and not walking the dog long enough. I offered him to write an agreement between two of us about the household chores. I do believe we need such a document for us to know what we both are responsible for. Of course my husband does more than me nowadays, but frankly speaking that's fine with me! I just don't want him to get sick and tired of it one day - that's why I suggested such an agreement. I hope he decides to let me do less than he does in exchange for something like daily massage etc. The thing is, we are living with his brother, and I just can't imagine myself cleaning after him! And he never ever cleans ANYTHING but his room (once in a blue Moon). So why should I clean the tub if some of the dirt is his??? OK, anyway, I'm working on becoming an Ideal Woman, which means that probably I need to become more of a housewife...

Wish me good luck with this difficult Journey :P

I'm not sure what to suggest. Having messy housemates can get tricky. Hopefully you and your husband can work something out. It's nice that you are working so hard to take care of your house and your husband despite not enjoying the housework. Don't get frustrated about not being a "housewife deep inside." I don't think there are any women anywhere who think "I just had the best day ever! I spent all day cleaning up after everyone! It was awesome!"

Hey Stacey! Great to hear about your husband taking you out for the movies and saying that you're beautiful! That's really sweet of him. What movies did you watch?

You mentioned about your husband's comment about you not eating chicken / meat? Are you vegetarian / vegan? If so, I never knew/realized that!

Celes, I'm not eating meat and chicken, but due to some problems with health I left fish and seafood in my diet. But since I stopped eating meat and chicken (in December 2011), I've been feeling so good! It was one of few things I'd been postponing to do - because people around me were trying to convince me that being vegetarian is unhealthy. This is completely wrong!

As for the movie we saw - it was The Woman In Black! It was very thrilling and even scary! If you like horrors and thrillers, make sure to check it out!

Day 6

Today I got a little mad at my husband: you know, when I'm trying hard for him and for us, I begin to see that he's making less effort. This is silly, but I just get upset. So today this very thing happened and I decided to take a long walk to my grandparents (it took me about 40 minutes to get there). I helped my granny to plant the peppers, then I went to see my ex-boss - we had a very good time together talking about life and work. She's such an adorable woman! After that I went to the restaurant with my good friend, we drank red wine and ate pizza.
So eventually I came home a little tipsy and quite calm, not in the mood for arguing. My husband paid attention to my quietness and came to me, hugged me, kissed and spent some time talking and joking. I didn't start a quarrel and it turned out that he was the first to make a step. I love him and I'll keep working on becoming a better woman and wife. Btw yesterday I had my face skin cleared, so now it looks much better! Tomorrow I'm planning to go to yoga and relax a little:)

Hi Stacey - It's always good to read your journals and challenges. Taking care of yourself is a great idea of challenge.
Congratulations on your weight loss and feeling good :D

Don't mind what people say , specially if you are feeling good with your diet choices. Not eating meat or chicken has never been a problem - I am vegetarian and I've got two beautiful kids.
The only problem would be if you do not have enough proteins - if you eat fish , it should not be ok.

Day 10

It's been over a week now since I started my Ideal-Woman Challenge - one fourth of the journey is behind! I guess I'm ready to share some of the positive changes I've faced so far:
  • After the cleansing procedure my face skin has improved a lot! I don't even have to wear foundation or much make-up anymore! I'm going to have another procedure this Friday - hope it shows even better results!
  • My eyelashes are so long and look very natural! I love my eyes!
  • I've been doing my hair every day - I even found out I can actually create hairstyles:)
  • My husband has told me several times that I'm beautiful! This was one of my goals in the first place.
  • I started going out with my friends and visiting with my family more often - in order to distract my attention from what I don't like about my husband. I've been less talkative with him and almost never complained. So on Friday he prepared a surprise for me and ordered sushi and red wine. We had a nice dinner together! You guys remember I complained about his not being romantic - so he definitely surprised me with that unexpected dinner!
  • Even my friends told me I look good! Of course I have to spend more time working on my appearance, but it's worth it! I like myself more and I've become more accepting.
  • I haven't been working out much lately - this is a problem for me, I hope to make exercise a habit soon. Maybe I'll need another challenge of mine to become more physically fit. Now I'm just trying not to criticize myself too much for skipping the work-outs. At least I take long walks :)

There's still a lot to work on, but I'm more than satisfied with my results! I'm on my way to Ideal Me :D
