Not sure what to post here, but as Dainin Katagiri says: You have to say something! So I'm going into this mindfully.

Hello everyone. I'm Shirls 66, retired, grandma of 6 and live in Durban, South Africa.
My pre-work:
Write your ideal vision for your health/fitness/lifestyle (10 min)
In an ideal world I weigh 60kg and I glow with good health. My muscle tone is good and my body is strong and flexible. I continue to be vegetarian, but no longer eat the highly processed cookies and sweet stuff. I make my own whole wheat pizza for a treat. I eat a lot of salads, vegetables, nuts and fruits and never feel hungry. I exercise daily, alternating aerobic exercise with strength training.
What do you want to accomplish at the end of 21DHL? (10 min)
By the end of the 21 days I want to have established the habits of clean eating and exercise.
Key Action things
Exercise in morning within an hour of getting up.
Set reminders for drinking water
Plan meals to include veg and salads and fruit
Post progress daily

For some reason I couldn't get on to the site yesterday but it went well and I drank the water and did my planned exercise.
Today I did 15 minute walk and am enjoying iced water because it's so hot here.

I'm loving this accountability thing! Today I did the walking and started on the strength exercises. Very creakily, but i did it! Got in the five fruit and veg but not all the water I'm afraid. I had some rooibos tea though. I made a delicious veg and chickpea curry fot dinner and will have the leftovers tomorrow for lunch in a roti.
I'm looking forward to creating my meal-plan. According to myfitnesspal which I just signed up for I need to be eating 1380 calories a day with 190g carbs, 46g of fat and 52g of protein to lose one pound a week. As long as I get in a 20 minute workout four times a week. This seems eminently doable!

I did the food and the water today but with the temperature at 30C and 75% humidity I just didn't get the exercise done. Felt exhausted just walking across the room. Wish we had a swimming pool. I'm adding a goal of getting at least 7 hours sleep. Apparently there was a study that showed the subjects who got adequate sleep lost weight faster than those who only got 5 or 6 hours sleep.

I'm keeping to the calories but fell down a bit on the water. However I've found out how to programme my phone with reminders so I hope it will go better. Not winning at the exercise. Just too darn hot.
I'm having fun with the ideal meal plans. Last night I made couscous with roasted veggies, chickpeas and feta and stirred in some tomato pesto. I'm having a lot more variety in my dinners than before this challenge. Because I'm tracking my food intake I certainly think I'm eating more mindfully.

The food is still going well and now that I've set reminders on my phone the water is working at last. I'm using a Waterford crystal glass to drink from instead of the old kitchen glasses. It sounds daft but somehow it makes a difference. I never did get used to water bottles.

Another scorcher of a day. I don't feel so much like eating in this weather but can't say I feel much like exercise either. It was 32 deg C. When we got out of the air-conditioned car I thought I was having a funny spell - until I realized it was just that my spectacles had misted up!

Calories are good. Water not so good. Exercise...need to do it in air-conditioned mall. Temp still 32 deg C - how do people manage at the equator? I now understand siestas.

The diet is still on track as is the water. I've only lost a pound but I feel very virtuous!

I stayed in my calorie range today but drank way too much coke zero because we went to a funeral and the wake went on and on for hours. I''m crazy - there was nothing to stop me from drinking iced water. I feel like I never want to see cola again!
Today's task - evaluate relationship with food. This was pretty good - only two points. I think I'm sugar sensitive. Once I start to eat sweet stuff I can't stop. Then I feel sick and guilty and just have to sleep.

At last the heat is easing off and we even had a little rain this morning. I am thrilled to report that my calories continue to be good. And I am definitely conscious of what I'm eating since I have committed to logging it all. It helps that the site I'm using is so fast and uncomplicated. The interface seems simple but there is some excellent code supporting it. I'm no expert but I recognize good programming when I use it.

Total pig-out today. Not a lot over calorie allowance but as they say here - eish!
