Hello everyone :) I hope you all are doing well!

My research mentor at my undergraduate institution is interested in discovering the effects of consuming artificial sweeteners over time--particularly those present in diet soda and how they can be contributing to obesity. Together, we have created a survey that will be available online. It consists of multiple choice and open-ended questions. Though there isn't any monetary compensation to take the survey--we are looking for people that would be willing to take it. Your participation in this survey can help scientists and researchers have a better understanding of whether artificial sweetener consumption over time can lead to weight gain. I am trying to recruit participants from a number of free weight loss communities that I found online! We are still in the process of getting the logistics of the survey approved so I will let everyone know when that is. PLEASE let me know if you are interested in participating in this study. If you are someone who drinks diet soda or even sweetens other beverages (coffee, tea) with artificial sweeteners, please consider filling it out. It will only take 30 minutes of your time, and you will be glad to know that you have assisted scientists and researchers. Feel free to comment if you have any other questions. Thank you and hope to hear from some of you! :)

No responses...but I'm still going to try! The survey is up and running and I have written a brief introduction about it:

Many of us struggle with weight gain. Too little exercise and too many
calories from highly processed foods and empty calorie foods like soda are consumed that have contributed to the obesity epidemic of today. People have turned to “diet” foods and beverages, particularly those that are artificially sweetened, in an attempt to manage and lose weight.

To further examine whether soda consumption may affect weight loss/gain over time, we are requesting that you complete the survey below. Your responses are anonymous and will be kept confidential. For further information on this study, please contact: Julie M. Fagan, PhD Rutgers University Email: Fagan@rci.rutgers.edu Phone number: 848-932-8354

Thank you in advance for your participation!

Let me know if you have any questions, thanks!
