Hey all! I gather there has been an increased interest around raw since 21DHL so I've decided to start a post here sharing my experiences with raw so far.:dance: It'll probably be helpful to some who are interested in the raw way of life. I'm planning to write a fuller post in tpeb once I've been on raw for a few more weeks and can give a bigger picture about the diet.

I started full-raw since Jan 14 so it's about 10 days on the diet so far. I've lost about 4kg against my heaviest weight since before I started raw so far (that's 8.8lbs). I'm looking to lose more in the upcoming days/weeks. Part of it is definitely due to eating less (before I ate quite a lot from binge attacks), while part of it is definitely due to the raw diet. I read that with the raw diet, your body easily gets energy from the food so it starts to let go of food storages since it can instantly get energy whenever you eat (vs. having to go through heavy processing). Hey Glenn, how's the trend of your weight loss since you started raw? How much did you lose in week 1, 2 and 3?

I've also posted in my 21dhl review that my skin has improved, and it definitely has. Less oily, less outbreaks/pimples, and seems like rejuvenation of old cells/marks has increased. My face also looks brighter/fairer (probably due to increased renewal). Also skin looks tighter/younger.

Mentally it feels like I've increased brain space to think. Like you're a lighthouse in the ocean and now your lighthouse is even taller and the light beam is stronger. It feels even clearer than before.

Today I feel a little sick so I'm not sure if it's my body cleansing myself after 10 days on the diet or anything like that. I recall from Steve Pavlina's raw journals that there was a period where he was sick while going on his raw trial as his body adjusted to such a clean/pure diet, so mine might/might not be related to raw. I'll continue to monitor and see.

Anyway, those who are on raw/have been on raw for a while, feel free to report/share your findings here! I think it'll be helpful to the rest who are curious about the lifestyle.

I'll write more in a full post in tpeb soon (so many posts to write about!!).

Hi Celes, thanks for creating this post! I'll be sure to include a few of my photos here.

My weight hasn't actually changed since last week. I think I've been eating enough to maintain my weight because I never feel hungry. Or maybe because I've been snacking on a few dates? I think they've become my trigger food. I probably should stop buying them. Although they do appear to help with digestion.

Frederic Patenaude's new book will be open for pre-orders tomorrow. He's giving away a CD to the first 300 people who place an order. So hopefully I can secure one of those. From what I've read, he covers a lot, including vitamin b12, dental health, fasting and so on. I'm definitely looking forward to reading it.

That's brilliant Glenn!:clap::clap: Thanks so much for sharing with us :D You made me hungry for that ice cream towards the end!:drool: Now I got to get out and get some bananas; ran out of bananas at home :(

By the way, did you freeze the strawberries and blueberries as well?

Thanks Celes!

No I didn't freeze those. Although I guess it won't hurt to try? I think the consistency is fine as is. The only problem I've found is seeds from the blackberries getting stuck in my teeth! So I think I'll exclude those next time.

I'll repeat what Celes said - That's brillant!! :clap::clap::clap:
For a first appearance, you did great. you are very natural actor.;)

As for the raw ice cream, it looks delicious, but at the same time so simple and easy too.
I'm out of bananas, and will not be able to find the berries here, but I will try a variation and let you know how it goes

Oh wow. I want a food processor now thought I suppose I could just use my blender.

Glenn, that video is awesome. The recipe looks delicious, the video was well edited, I liked the music, and you were very natural. Fantastic work.

Hi Celes, I ordered a copy of Frederic Patenaude's Raw Controversies book today. After ordering, I was offered the bonus of a month trial of the Raw Mentor club for $5. Normally it's $29.95/month. I took up the offer, figuring I could cancel anytime. For $5, there is so much included! There's ebooks jam packed with recipes. There's separate ebooks for salad dressings, desserts, winter meals, salads, soups, and all the recipes from their wedding including the water melon wedding cake. Plenty of videos too, audio interviews, ebook interviews. Some of the recipes sound very yummy! Plus, most are really simple too. There's even a recipe for making rice from cauliflower. Lots to try!

Thanks Matt, all pretty simple! The music was just an instrumental I recorded way back.

Cheers to you too, Glenn! And -thank you- for the video. I know you shared that recipe on the 21DHL threads, but it feels like a bonus to actually see it made. And with you as the star! (Have to tease you, Glenn!!!) I know I'm not the only one that is waiting to see more of your videos. :)

What ideas do you have in mind? :D

By the way Glenn, for the strawberries why did you chop off the top part? Why not just pluck out the leaves with your hand?

Well done, Glenn! Watch out Jamie Oliver, there is a new celebrity chef in the making! I enjoyed watching this video, sitting here in my office after having gone for a lunch time walk on a very hot, humid sunny day in Sydney!

I thought you were very relaxed on camera.

Interesting articles there Qin. This is the first time I've read about Jack LaLanne. Sad to hear he died last week. Definitely some great words of Wisdom there.

Haha, thanks Charles! I've only ever seen Jamie Oliver once on tv at a friend's house, so I'm not too familiar with his work. Although I had to buy one of his cookbooks as a Christmas present for someone the other year. I think the only way to do a video like this is just be yourself. There's clearly room for improvement in my case, but still fun to put together. :)
