Hello All...My intentions for the 21DHL are very simple. I want to change my habits to support healthy living. I don't want to be a fanatic; I just want to feel good when I get up in the morning and be able to do the things I want to do throughout the day. My kids are growing up (17 and 19) and for the first time in a long time, I want to focus on me. It's not that I want to be selfish...I want to be around to have fun with my kids as they marry and have kids. I want to live a long life with my husband and grow old together. I want to be an active senior that people look at with amazement as I grab my tennis racket and head for the courts. I want to feel content with myself. I'm ready!!! :D

I'll be on a holiday in Bali for majority of the trial so I'm going to attempt to do the best I can with what is available

I am a bit jealous of you:) Bali is obviously a very good place to start new, healthy habits! Here, in Hungary the weather is awful, the temperature is around -10 Celsius.

Hi all, my wishes for 2011 are - in theory - very simple: no more sadness, only happiness. I tried it all for myself in 2010, but i think, with more people sharing the same intentions it will be easier to begin the right and helpful way.

I think it's great that you are making it a goal to be healthy! I wish you the best. I think it's easiest to just get outside and walk everyday!! That helped me get started with exercising again, now I'm running and weight training. Also, cutting out one bad food per day and adding water.

My intentions are as follows:
1. Lose 5 lbs.
2. Reduce calorie intake to approx 1400 cal a day.
3. Have made appointments for medical followup – mammogram, dentist, eye doctor, colonoscopy.
4. Take fish oil and calcium every day.
5. Reestablish bike riding routine for getting to work.
6. If weather is bad, figure out alternative.
7. Sign up for yoga class.
8. Cut out all processed and junk food.
9. East salad, fruit or veg with every meal.
10. Never take seconds of anything at meals.
11. Drinking 8 glasses of water every day.

I think getting the tasks accomplished will be easy (appointments, class), establishing some of the habits will be harder. I'll be using: http://www.myfitnesspal.com to track my calories. I've used it before, it's user friendly and very helpful. They have a great database of calories so it's easy to track your food and they also let you track the calories you burn from exercise. It's a huge help!

Good luck everyone. I loved the prework and actually wrote out the calendar which I will print out and carry around. Best, Dee

My ideal self will be 185lbs of a lean mean fitness machine. I will be cut, have a solid 6 pack and have excellent endurance and cardiovascular fitness. I will have a healthy lifestyle eating a healthy diet, exercising at least 4 times a week. Have a regular devotional and study time. Rise at 4:00am Monday thru Friday and be at the gym by 5:00am. Will become an example for others who are approaching 50.

At the end of the 21 days I want to have established a good exercise habit and lose at least 5lbs. Want to have developed the habit of drinking at least 8 glasses of water a day. I want to have established a solid reading and studying habit. I want to be on the way to eating healthy. I want to establish a rise early habit and be productive in the rising early.

I am here because I really need help getting on track. I have lost 26 lbs last year and I am afraid with X-mas and my getting off track I am starting to gain it back. :(

I really want to get out of this just that, get back on track and give my self a kick start to the year. My ultimate goal is to be able to feel healthy, stop geting so tired so quickly, be able to go running in the mornings!

Greetings Everyone.. I'm here to get on a positive track with my health and well being. Over the years I've gotten into several bad habits and work like to work on them...fast food is a bad habit as well as the lack of physical activity has crept into my lifestyle.
So, I welcome our journey..
Ok..Here's my 21 Day Plan....
- Follow portion control
- Watch carb and sodium intake
- Eat out once per week, which includes lunch
- Take vitamins daily
- Do some type of daily workout..use a video or walk my dog
- Don't eat after 7:30 pm, even when I have late meetings

Hello Ord,
I'm Susan. I live in Italy.
I have to loose 8 lbs./eliminate dairy products/drink more water/eliminate wine/exercise at least three days a week
and stop smoking.I stopped smoking this year, but then started again in November.I have been working a lot on my problems this year and have gained a high awareness of myself. But my real goal is another one-A challenge with myself. To tell you the truth,I was thinking of quitting even before starting but your post made me change my mind!We all know what is best for us and what we have to do to love ourselves don't we?But this is not enough.I have discovered that action depends on having a good reason-not the reasons that we all know but one that goes further, one that penetrates the universe and links us with it.Maybe we can discover this reason in the next 21 days.

As part of the 21DHL challenge, I want to kick start my lifestyle change: lose 6lbs; drink more water; quit drinking coca cola; eat more vegetables; exercise three times each week; keep my room and workspace organized, clean & tidy surroundings = clean & tidy mind; and ensure I sleep better at night.

Having battled with my weight for over 10 years, I've decided that 2011 is going to be the year I finally succeed in reaching my target weight of 10st / 64kg. I'll be turning 29 this year, and my biggest desire is to start my thirties in 2012 as a healthier, slimmer and happier person. I have several events this year that make it even more important for me to succeed, so here ends the procrastination and excuses!

Good luck to everyone else taking the 21DHL challenge! Together we can do it!

1.) Drinking more, between 1,5 and 2 liters - my personal record is 1,4 liters a day, normaly it's less than 1 liter.

2.) Excercise every day, preferably in the morning; burning at least as many calories as I have in a cafe latte made with honey.

3.) Keeping an eye on my food; eating fruits at least once. (Preferably more, and raw vegetables, too.)

4.) Doing the tasks from the challenge, as they come. :)

Good luck to everyone! :D
