Hello all, this is the Million Dollar Challenge (MDC) sign-up thread!

Introduction

Read the Million Dollar Challenge announcement post first. Ensure you fit the participant requirements for MDC before signing up.

How To Sign-Up
  1. Subscribe to the newsletter and RSS Feed. Subscribing means you get first-hand updates of all new blog articles, MDC-related posts and challenge announcements, free.
  2. Post your introduction here in the MDC sign-up thread (You're reading this thread now)
  3. In your introduction, share your immediate financial goal in life - an amount that would really inspire you when you reach it. This can be anywhere from $1 to $100 million, or even more. The more the better. For perspective, I rather aim for $200,000 and earn $50,000 than aim for $1,000 and earn $1,000. The point here is to earn as much as possible. The target is meant only as a reference point for yourself as you create your MDC plan (see below).

Once you follow the 3 steps, you'll automatically be included as an official MDC participant below within 24 hours.

Your Action Steps After Signing Up

Your MDC starts right away after you sign-up. Here are your next steps after you post your introduction:

  1. Start your MDC journal in the MDC forums immediately! (You are free to give the thread any appropriate title you see fit. Default journal name = XX's MDC Journal, where XX is your name)
    • Create your plan on how you intend to achieve your MDC target amount and post it in the thread.
    • Break down your plan into small, doable action steps, starting with this week!
    • Bookmark the forums - You'll be visiting regularly from now on
  2. Get started on your project(s) right away!
    • Track your progress in your MDC journal. You are free to update your journal as regularly as you want, be it weekly or even daily.
    • To achieve maximum results, my recommendation is to update at least once every few days for accountability and to keep the momentum going. Your updates should include (a) How you are progressing (b) Obstacles you're facing (if any), c) Things that are working (d) Things that aren't working
  3. Report new earnings (USD) on the MDC earnings page as they roll in.
    • As MDC is about revenue generation, we'll be looking at revenue (any amount earned) and not income (revenue minus expenses)
    • All the money you earn will be yours. The earnings is only for documentation purposes for the challenge

The goal is to generate as much revenue as possible as a group through the power of individual action and community support! There will be no fixed timeline for the challenge; rather the challenge will end when the group as a whole generates millions in dollars of revenue.

First member to sign up! :D My target for MDC is to earn an additional $200,000 $1,000,000 for 2011. There's no basis behind the number - it just looks like a nice and challenging amount to aim for. As I mentioned in the MDC post, I much rather aim a figure like $200,000 and get $50,000 than aim for $1,000 and get $1,000. Don't get hung up over whether you achieve your target or not - Nobody's going to be here monitoring your target. Your target is for your own personal reference and isn't going to be used against you. The higher the target, the bigger your plan, the better the results!

Will work out my plans to achieve this in my MDC journal right now. Look forward to meeting all the new fellow MDC members and reading about your plans! Let's work together to achieve our financial goals guys! :D

I'm very excited to join this challenge. I've started selling a jewelry product and would love to hold myself more accountable for doing this. I'd like to make $50,000 by the end of the year. I'm very new to "sales," but I love that my business helps empower woman by allowing them to sell their own product too! I'm looking forward to setting and meeting goals via this forum! :D

Count me in Celes. Not sure how I can do it but defiantly give it some thought. It maybe something to do with animation. I also look forward to seeing what others have in mind and the encouragement that will be found.

I hope this is okay

I'm going to join in this challenge - My goal is to make $100,000 by the end of the year. I have a small quilting business and a blog that I like to monetize with some different info products, so this is just the kick in the pants I need to really get in gear.

Welcome onboard ritabelle!! :D A quilting business sounds very exciting! I imagine there will be quite a few members here who have online businesses or are looking to set up online businesses, so there's going to be lots of great synergy! Look forward to following your MDC progress!!

I'd love to join! I already follow the RSS feed and newsletter. I have two blogs that I've started recently and am looking into more ways to monetize them. I also have an online store, and I'm a musician, so I'd love to make more money that way.

I want to make as much as possible, so I'll set my goal high - $1,000,000! Granted, that sounds slightly less impressive when you convert it to my home country's currency (about £600,000 great britain pounds). ;)

Celes,
Thank you so much for this wonderful blog. I would like to join this challenge. I purchased your book and I have to say it has changed my life. We have very similar stories. I currently work in Corporate America doing finance and I want to break out. I had so much fear about leaving the rat race but I'm ready. My passion is writing. I want to make a living from doing so. I'm currently working on a novel and a screenplay. Most people don't think writers can make money but I'm here to prove them wrong. I'm going to aim high and set a goal of $500,000 from writing. I thought about starting a blog but I’m not exactly sure what my niche will be. I’m very passionate about social, political, and human rights issue. I’ll brainstorm some ideas in the meantime. Perhaps my blog could generate other writing opportunities.

I'd love to sign up too. This is just what I've been waiting for. I hadn't really been involved in the fitness goals (My husband and I are working towards a big triathlon this summer.)

Anyway, I would like to earn $20,000 from endeavours other than my day job.

As with Karen above me, and Adrienne as well, I have a blog & several creative outlets that I'm interested in monetizing.

Hi Celes,

I will join this challenge, too. I think my goal will be 10.000 Euros (14.000 US-Dollar).

I thought about it the whole day and it will be some steps:

first: selling some articles with ebay
next: maybe a little online shop

first: writing shots stories
next: writing a book

My goal is to help people getting started, getting a change in life, getting some heart in the overminded world. I wanted to do this since I studied ethics in 2005 and until now, I didn´t find a way to start and live my dreams. Now is the time, I can´t loose, but I can win!

*hugs* nin

HI Celes! So excited to join. The 30DLBL challenge changed me. I confess I was a lurker on line, but did every single daily exercise and grew so much from it. I realized my purpose revolves around mentoring and teaching and I have a passion for finance.

First, I am a landlord and decided to write an ebook on the sites I use to screen tenant applicants. Its available for sale, but I am unsure how to promote it.

I also started an online site, writing about financial topics. My post yesterday was entitled The Difference Between You and A Homeless Guy and it can be found at my site http://www.kimberlyherbel.com. People who've read it offered lots of positive feedback to my on facebook, but I know I need to work on my reach, monitizing the site, etc.

I also started a newsletter through letter.ly called Good-Deal-Alert. I'm charging 2.99 / month but publish it weekly. I have the hook up on great deals and love to share them with people. I am hoping to grow that income stream.

Oh and I also set up a coupon class. I held my first class last week and made $60. A little disappointing, but for me it was a success because I am trying to overcome the fear of public speaking. I would like to take my complete class and convert it to a pay to watch video - then build a whole set of classes. That way, I can teach in my sleep.

I love the idea of setting up this community where we can promote each other and bounce ideas off each other. I am constantly doing that for my friends...promoting them, sending them new clients, etc. but this has not really been reciprocated. I think the friends I promote don't realize how this is done. LOL. They take and take, but never give

My goal is to find a way to generate at least $7K per month and once I do, I will leave my job as a legal assistant and be confident about going it on my own.

Celes, these things I've mentioned above....they all came from the 30DLBL challenge. I think I may be on to living my best life through my passion, but I need some help and direction and a lot of tweaking.

Let's promote and support each other on twitter! Facebook | Twitter |

Hi Celes, it sounds like you created this challenge just me :) So you can definitely count me in! I thought you would be preparing yoursef for another 30DLBL challenge in April, and then I discover this! Is this something you came up with the idea for during your fast? Just out of curiosity though, how long will you keep it open for people to sign up to, and keep the number of participants to a minimum?

By the way, I noticed that a number of the 25 methods you listed are things I'm already planning on doing.

I look forward to it! We're going away for four days later today, but I will be sure to get my journal started before then.

Oh, and I'll add myself to the $1 million goal list too! I managed to reach my weight goal in the 21DHL challenge, so I'll do all I can to reach my goal here too!
