Usually, I write a lot in my blog, my personal Mandarin blog. I write about my goals, my life, what I saw, what I heard, what I learned, etc.

However, whenever I stated my goals, I always feel that I can either choose to achieve them or not. I do not force myself to achieve them as a must, just go for what I like. Thus, I keep on procrastinating the goals for years.

Now, I wish to post them here, not to announce to the world about my goals, but to give a little bit of pressure towards myself by telling myself that, "hey, someone is reading your thread, you must do as what you said!"

So, I start it off with this thread. :)

Here are my goals to be accomplished within year 2012 / 2013:

Life Goal
  1. Find a life partner XD

Self Development
  1. Enroll Master part time course in September 2012, to be completed in 3 years
  2. Learn Japanese language – able to read and speak (added on 12-Feb-2012)
  3. Read at least 3 books in one year ( Excluding comics and novels)
    1. NLP Fast Reading Technique - 17-Feb-2012
    2. What is written in the notebooks of successful people? - 22-Feb-2012
  4. Write at least 5 blog posts about some simple researches of my interests
    1. Pomodoro Technique - 18-Feb-2012

Health and Fitness
  1. Weigh 65 kg
  2. Drink at least 2 liters of water daily
  3. Exercise at least 3 times a week
  4. Meditate at least 3 times a week
  5. Reduce cholesterol to the normal range (added on 12-Feb-2012)
  6. Reduce the urine acid to the normal range (added on 12-Feb-2012)

Hobbies and Interests

Music
  1. Practice at least 2 hours a week
  2. Take the zither examination
  3. Join the zither international competition in Dec 2012
  4. Buy a new zither

Photography
  1. Buy an SLR camera as 2012 birthday present
  2. Join the photography community after buying the SLR (added on 12-Feb-2012)

Travel
  1. Save at least RM200 monthly
  2. Travel to Cambodia with friend
  3. Travel to Yunnan (Depends on my traveling budget)

Crafts
  1. Complete the hand bag for a friend
  2. Complete the wooden house model for a friend
  3. Complete the Mandarin orange clay tree for a friend
  4. Create a photograph section in my living room (added on 12-Feb-2012)
  5. Make a doll house of Chinese Orchestra
  6. Make 2 car seat cushions for myself

Drawing
  1. Draw at least one picture about my life in that month
  2. Post drawings to Comic Fiesta
  3. Join Comic Fiesta 2012

They seem to be a lot. I hope I can complete as many goals as possible. :)

Besides, currently I'm following the 21DFC. :) If I can make it to exercise everyday in these 21 days, there is no excuse that I cannot exercise 3 times a week.

I will keep this thread up to date from time to time, to see how many goals I can achieve!

Today, I just wish to write a sharing post. :)

Besides achieving goals, it is very important that we need to keep on reviewing our past. I like to stay alone most of the time, although I have a lot of activities out there and mix with people from different areas.

When I stay alone, I will try to review about myself. Have I changed? Do I change to be a better or worse person? If I have changed to be better, can I go further? If I have changed to be worse, how can I revert back to my real self?

There were 2 times where I changed my mindset in 24 hours. The first time was during my college studying time.

When I studied in secondary school, I was a quiet person, I didn't talk to other people. I even had the fear of getting near to boys. After I studied in college, I told myself, "You have to work after 4 more years. You have to mix up with people. You have to prepare yourself to go to work in future!"

Then I started to train myself to communicate with people. It was hard for me, since I seldom communicate with people in the past 6 years of secondary school life. I "forced" myself to talk to people, think of topics to chat about.

Then I realized, in the past, I was unwilling to share my stories to other people. I always felt that I was unable to trust on other people because I was cheated by my good friend before. So, I slowly released my stories to other people, and I finally made a lot of good friends. I even had a lot of male friends after that.

The second time that I twisted my mind, was before I turned into education line, my current job. My current job is my dream job, which I set since I was 7 years old. XD

I studied IT course after my secondary school because my dad didn't allow me to go for education line. He had his own reasons, so I listened to him.

In fact, deep in my heart, I have my Plan B: graduated from Degree in IT, then gain some experience from the industrial field and then be a lecturer.
Also, I have Plan C: try out a different field, gain different knowledge and see if I love to stay in IT field forever.

I dropped my Plan C after working in industrial fields for a few years. I found out that I didn't like to be in IT field, dealing with programming, looking at codes all day long. @_@

In the end, go back to my Plan B, turned into education line. I stick to my dream job. In deed, I thank my dad. I studied in IT course, and now I'm teaching in IT course still. If I didn't listen to him, right now, I might be suffering. When I go along my life, I realized that it is not easy to be a primary school teacher. I always respect those primary school teachers, they have the patience and love towards small kids. And, I'm still learning to be a good lecturer too. :)

So, that is why, always listen to our hearts, review ourselves and see what we want in our life. Go for what we want. If we cannot achieve now, go for Plan B, Plan C or even Plan D, E, F, etc... Always prepare a backup plan in our lives, so that we will not regret of what we have done earlier.

Each of us has only one life, so we must live without regrets! ^^

Its a great feeling to check off the goals you have accomplished!!

Your post about reviewing the past was good to read! :) thanks for posting!

Thanks you for always be with me, nimiprem! ^^

Yes, I saw you have started one for yourself, and I believe that you will feel the determination within you as you know that all of us in PE are watching your progress, encouraging you and hugging you (virtually XD ), just like what you are doing to me now.

I'm a lecturer in a college, teaching programming courses while enjoying my moments with students~ Some of my students say that I'm torturing them because I asked them to write programs to create some simple games. But after all, I could see them enjoying the games they created, and there is where my satisfaction comes from. :P

Haha, yea, I plan to create an independent page on my personal blog to list out all my goals, so that I can review them from time to time. Also, I will list out my goals on a piece of paper and paste it on the wall in front of my working desk in my room.

I guess I will add on my goals in the first post of this thread from time to time as my life goes on. I will state down the dates on when I listed the goals so that I can track on that too.

I will take pictures on that and post it up when it's done. Currently, I'm a little bit of busy on the school work as the new semester just started this week. This is the first week. :)

I hope to see your progress too~! Let's work together to improve ourselves! ^^
As I mentioned earlier, I'm currently following the 21 Daily Fitness Challenge. Today is Day 8, and I just realized that, I have successfully lost 1 kg!!

During my study life, I have never lost even 0.1 kg even if I fell sick for one month! And now, I exercised for only one week continuously, I managed to reduce 1 kg!! Haha~ I feel so happy about that. I hope that I can achieve my goal of this 21DFC --> reduce 3 kg of weight.

Ops, I think I missed out this as my goal... Healthy life plan, I'm going for this goal as well. I guess I will organize my goals according to the priority and categories, just like Nimi's Living the Secret Journal. :)

You've done wonderful so far in the 21DFC! 1kg is a good start and definitely shows that your goal of 3kg may be possible by the end of the challenge. I liked your list of goals and I can definitely see you attaining them this year. Good luck!

Thanks, Scorpionsage! I'm still working very hard on it to lose 3 kg~! ^^
Still trying to control my diet. :)
Haha, in term of getting a boyfriend, I'm using the law of attraction. XD
I'm no longer young now, and I definitely wish to get a life partner to form a family. :)

Thanks, Ish. I'm still working on to sort them out in categories, as I feel that it is kind of messy. :D

Hi Nimi! Thanks~! and, Yeah, I just categorized and added a few more goals into the list. :D

I want to learn Japanese language, either through self-learning or going for class. I will choose the former first. My younger brother learned Japanese language by himself, so I'm learning from him too. :)

The reason why I want to learn this language, because I have a Japanese joining our zither class now. She doesn't know English, and I don't know Japanese, so it is kinda hard for us to communicate with each other. We are now practicing a ensemble of Chinese orchestra which we are going for competition in the end of this year, I hope that I can learn at least a little bit of Japanese language so that I can communicate with her. :) It is also for my self improvement.

----------------------------------------------------------------

By the way, today I have done my task of the month: Draw at least one picture to represent my life / my thoughts every month.

I always hope to receive flower from the person I like especially during this romantic day~!
This coming Valentine's Day, after the class, I will be celebrating with a gang of people, either in a relationship or not. We just hang out and have fun on that day. :)

Wish all of you Happy Valentine's Day!! ^^

Haha, I'm just love drawing, and wish to train up my imagination skills. :P

Yeah, I hope that next year's Valentine's Day, I can receive the flower as I wish, maybe? XD
By the way, the most important thing is, living in a healthy life for now, and be happy all the while~ --> My objectives of living.

Today, I ate a lot of vegetables. I ordered mixed vegetable rice for lunch, and had my dinner with all vegetables + fish, without rice.

I felt happy because I have successfully to overcome my unwillingness feeling to eat more vegetables. :)

Also, today, I went for an evening walk with my mum again. She plans to walk everyday if possible. We walked for 1.93 miles in 1 hour. I also took a few photos during the walk. :D

We went through the gardens of the neighborhood. A lot of vegetables and flowers planted in the gardens~

Just back from a speech contest event. I will be the one standing on the stage to present my speech for contest on this Saturday. I hope that I have the time to get myself prepared for it. In deed, I haven't prepared any sketch of the speech although I have the idea of what I'm going to say...

This will be my challenge towards myself, challenge on my guts to stand on the stage with tens of audience. I hope that I can make it the best I can. :)

Thanks, Sara. :)
I'm a Toastmasters member, and we are going to have club speech contest. There are 2 contests:

1. International Speech Contest - The contestants will prepare a free-topic speech of 5 ~ 7 minutes, and present the speech.

2. Table Topic Contest - It is an in-prompt-to contest. Each contestant is given a topic (same topic) to speak about for 1 ~ 2 minutes instantly. This contest is much more challenging because the contestants need to think about the points and organize the speech in the few seconds after receiving the topic.

I will be taking part in both contests.
