Hey Lina! Hope your challenge is going well. I just tried that first youtube video you posted of the yoga you were doing, it was really fun! I don't think I have ever moved that much with yoga before, and it was definitely more interesting and challenging. I'll have to see what other videos she has. Thanks for sharing!

Sadie has a pleasant way of introducing someone to yoga practice, her explanations and tips are great, very useful and delivered in a fun way. That's because Vinyasa yoga, just like Hatha/Ashtanga/Power yoga, is all about movement, getting your blood pumping and toning your body along with creating a more conscious bond between mind and body. I'm sure you'll like her other videos, too :D She has a YouTube channel of her own where she uploaded a lot of videos. You're more than welcome!

Review Day 20

Since starting applying the principles of mindful eating and intuitive eating, I can honestly say that I am in control of my eating. I won't lie and say that in 5 days all cravings have vanished and that I act like a "food angel" around chocolate cake, lol - it actually takes pretty much self-discipline to stop eating when I'm satisfied and not stuffing my face just 'cause <<it tastes soooo good!>>. I'm on the right path towards a healthy relationship with food and this time it's for good. :)

Food-wise
Morning: 1 slice of rye bread with a bit of cheese and 1 tomato, 1 mug of homemade yogurt, 1 small piece of pie
Snack 1: 1 apple
Snack 2: 2 small pieces of pie, 12 peanuts
Lunch: 1 slice rye bread with eggplant salad, 1 small piece pie
Dinner: 1 rather large slice of melon, 1 slice rye bread, a few peanuts

Just to clear things up so that you won't think I'm eating tons of pie, haha, when I say "small piece" I mean a small square of it, just enough to take 2-3 bites out of it.

Yoga-wise
This morning I did this 30 minute flow by Sadie, it was really challenging for me but I loved it :D

Review Day 21 and Round-up

Food-wise
Morning: 1 slice of rye bread with 1/2 mug of homemade yogurt, 1 and 1/2 small piece of pie
Snack 1: 1 apple
Snack 2: 1 slice rye bread with a bit of cheese and 1/2 of a tomato
Lunch: 1 serving potatoes soup, 1 and 1/2 small piece pie
Dinner: 1 slice rye bread with eggplant salad, 1 banana, a few peanuts

Yoga-wise
Thirty minutes of Sadie's vinyasa yoga.

Day 21. My challenge has reached its end. It was an interesting experience because it offered me the opportunity to "dig" deeper into my own beliefs, both about food and about myself as human being.

In terms of eating, the first half of my challenge wasn't that ballanced, I kept struggling with certin foods, telling myself that I can't break my bad habits and that I'll never be a normal eater. However, during the second half I came across the concepts of mindful and intuitive eating, both of which changed things completely (if you want to learn more about these two concepts, you can check the links I've provided in my LYBL journal :) ).

As for yoga, everything worked amazingly well since the very first day. I had sporadically practiced yoga since May but got serious about it during this challenge. I mostly focused on Vinyasa yoga, using Sadie Nardini's free videos from her YouTube channel. I've finally found a way of staying active while enjoying it, without feeling like I'm struggling to keep up with a certain exercising schedule. And yoga has multiple benefits, not only physical but also spiritual/psychological.
Some of the benefits I've noticed from my own practice are:
-better posture
-increased flexibility
-more lean muscle mass
-improved bowl movements
-more energy
-increased patience and peace of mind
-over all improved mood
I've written more about my experience with yoga on my blog, if you're interested you can check the post here.

Basically, this challenge helped me a lot, it has taken me on paths I've never known about before and I'm really happy to have undertaken it.
