That's great Celes! I can definitely confirm $200 of the additional $1200, as I've already shot that video. But the guy won't be paying me until tomorrow and wants another two videos. I'm going to have to find another way of earning some extra money in April once the promotion has ended.

By the way, you've done really well! Do you have any thing planned yourself for April to bring in any extra money?

Hi everyone, hope i am not too late with my update...

Total Incremental Earnings in USD (Since you started MDC): $2791.60 - I actually had my best sales day ever on Tuesday! :)

Rough breakdown: Launched a new design on my website on Monday night: including graphics, photo graphs, lots of new content and announcing forth coming features, also launched a free April Challenge for my customers to join. Sent 2 emails to my list in this period promoting the new website and features. All of these have created a synergy in increasing sales.

Key things that worked for you: Making my website look more professional and telling people about the changes.

What didn't work: No lessons here this week that I can think of as it has been my best week to date.

EDIT - Oops i think me and celes were both typing at the same time, ah well my results can go into the next week... lol x

Well, so far I actually haven't any revenue, but I'll be collecting the money from my actions on the MDC next week.
That would be from my new students, but some will be starting in 2 weeks, so I'll have to wait!

Celes, I'm not sure if I can include my revenues from credit card promotion or not. I included it in my personal income statement, that's why I decided to put it in here. I think it qualifies because first of all one needs to have a good financial credit (excellent credit scores) and financial know-how to achieve this. Second of all one needs to do lots of research or look hard for this type of promotion and it's hard to come by.

So, here is my earning that I received yesterday (Wednesday, March 30):

MDC Total Earnings To Date

1. Total Incremental Earnings in USD (Since you started MDC): $1,100
2. Rough breakdown:
Credit card promotion: $1,100 posted to my account
3. Key things that worked for you:
Do what I really like in this case finance, research thoroughly for good promotions and/or bargain. Maintain high credit scores.
4. What didn't work:
Nothing so far. I love researching for financial bargain and promotions

Xina - Yes of course it's counted! As long as it's money earned as a result of actions/plans/strategies you took from taking part in MDC, it's all counted :D $1,100 is a LOT - I'll include that in Week 4's round-up! :D

Evvie / Glenn - It just struck me that you're counting the revenue only when you receive the actual cash. Actually you can already report that as the earning as long as it's already confirmed! (i.e. no risk of the person absconding with the cash or anything like that) No need to wait for it to be physically (or virtually) in your account!

Hi Celes, yes, but it's difficult to determine with some of my clients. If I included the amounts of all those who confirmed, I'd well over $3000 now! But it didn't happen.

As of now I'm at $1600 for the video promotion, but I can safely confirm $1800, because there's a video I shot last weekend I'm still yet to be paid for. My adsense I'll check again on Wednesday, as a weekly amount.

Well done to everyone else who has made money since the challenge started also!

Here's my update for this week.

1. Total Incremental Earnings in USD (Since you started MDC): $2007.67 (Australian dollars, but with the current exchange rate, is almost the same as USD)
2. Rough breakdown: Adsense from a single site I tweaked - $7.67, and ten music video jobs from facebook promotion to 40 people which so far has made me $2000. I could have made another $200 on the weekend, but my friend who was going get a video made couldn't track down the other guy he needs for the video.
3. Key things that worked for you: One off promotion to 40 people via two facebook messages, plus additional end of the month promotion, and tweaking adsense on my akai.mpcblog.com auto video blog.
4. What didn't work: Too busy working on these videos and the BIB to seek more ways of making money :)

1.Total Incremental Earnings in USD: 0
2.Rough breakdown: 0
3.Key things that worked for me: Too early to tell.
4.What didn't work: Too early to tell.

I have a question: If I am not progressive on earning money, and have nothing in my current plans, should I drop out of this challenge?
You have to have money to make money and I am working on how to make money.

Hi Jackie, the challenge is a life-long challenge, so there's no reason to drop out of it (I'm sure at some point you'd want to earn more money, so might as well start now!). The weekly updates are for those with new earnings to report, so there's no need to post anything if there's nothing to update.

As of 4-5-11

Total Earnings Since Challenge Started: $751.75

New Earnings this week were 22.29 (they are included in total above)
and they came from:
$ 2.09 google adsense
$ 1.20 brandcaster affiliate program
$19.00 selling 5 coupons for baby formula
$22.29 this week

What's working and what's not? Well, I am really struggling to earn money plus keep up with the challenge and the BIB. I am sad to say I haven't even had time to read what everone is doing. In fact, right now it is 8:30 PM eastern time and I have been at work since 8:30 AM - I worked til 5, then starting working on my blog tasks.

I hope everyone had a good week! I am disappointed in my earnings this week, however, I have been working on setting up some things that have the potential to bring $$ in the future. Also, doing lots of learning!

Kim

Incremental earnings...

Previous earnings: $2791.60
New earnings: $1125.08
Total earnings: $3916.68

What's working and what is not working...

My incremental sales are down considerably this week which I am not happy with but it also expected really as I haven't really done much in the last week or so to credit a boost in sales. I have had problems with the google ad words company I hired, which has negatively impacted my sales. I have also had to move out of my house as I am getting it all decorated, which has taken up a lot of my energy and thoughts. Just like Kim I feel bad that I haven't been able to contribute as much as I would have liked to the BIB.

The thing that has worked for me, is the fact that all the changes I have made recently are the types of things that when they are done once, the benefits are there forever. I just need to keep focused on the type of work that when I do it once I get paid for it over and over again. :)

Good luck to everyone,
Julz xxx

Here's my MDC Month 1 earnings!

  1. Total Incremental Earnings in USD (Since you started MDC): $6,015
  2. Contributions from Week 4: 30DLBL, Adsense incrementals, PE Zazzle store
  3. Key things that worked for you: Focus on actions that deliver long-term effects. In this case it's been the Adsense tweaks I did earlier on. I went back and tweaked it a little more so that the ads don't look so intrusive now. That led to some drop in revenue (but still an overall increment vs. the past), which I'm okay with. Also identifying opportunities and being able to act quickly is very important.
  4. What didn't work: Need to focus on long-term projects now. Been too busy working on day-to-day stuff to focus on long-term.

How To Post Your Updates

In your updates, please share the 4 points so we can learn from one another:
  1. Total Incremental Earnings in USD (Since you started MDC): $XXX.XX (Feel free to report anything from 1 cent and above. Since the objective of MDC is to encourage everyone to make as much money as possible, we're looking at revenue, not income (revenue minus expenses)). Also, we're looking at incremental earnings due to projects/strategies/decisions you take during MDC, so don't include income that's already been established before you joined the challenge.
  2. Rough breakdown: (e.g., Ebook sales - $100, consulting - $200, affiliate sales - $50, and so on)
  3. Key things that worked for you: List down the top 3-5 big things that worked for you so others can learn from your successes
  4. What didn't work: Share with us any learnings, things that you did but didn't work so well, realizations and things you're going to change in your plan as a result etc

In the meantime, continue to update your projects/status via the MDC journals. I'll also be doing the same via my MDC journal.

Celes, I am curious if you think it is worth building a Zazzle Store? I have been considering it, but I wonder if it is bringing in enough (in your opinion). Also, did you consider others, like cafepress and how did you arrive at zazzle?

Thank you
Kim
