Wow! Slept in, woke up to sunshine and all my cupboards, fridge, freezer and pantry cleaned out of all unhealthy foods and stocked with healthy things! I've been busy cleaning out my home of clutter and paper and simplifying my life. I plan to continue that this weekend to open myself, my home and my life to new and better things. I have already eaten over my 5-7 daily fruits and veggies, and am working on the water consumption. I went to workout and my magnetic key didn't work in the workout room...so I'm going to pull out some exercise dvd's and workout here at home today and find out on Monday why my key doesn't work. Nothing is going to get me down! I'm down 4 pounds since Christmas day! I'm pumped!

Woah! Keep up to good work Debb!
I praise your ability to lose weight during the holiday season.
But nonetheless, amazing dedication!

Debb, I did the same thing; started removing clutter and tonite I am getting rid of "bad" foods from the fridge. Setting ourselves up for success!

Way to go Debb!
Don't you feel lighter after you declutter? And what a great way to start off the New Year.

Thanks, Aaron! I ended up taking a nap this afternoon, more out of frustration for expecting more out of myself. Now it's time to get back in the game and celebrate what I have accomplished. Best of you also!

Thanks, Carol! Yes, I'm getting quite the collection of things to take to the local Good Will store! That's always fun to see someone else make good use out of something that has meant something to me. I will continue to declutter and simplify my life. I had just hoped the process would go quicker, but I find it takes energy to dive into that work at times. Usually, I struggle to get started and then later in the day, I find this 2nd wind that just gets me there! I'm hoping it's here again tonight! I'd like to see more progress! Best of luck in your goals as well as we enter this new year together as a team!

It's easy to see why you're pumped! You took lots of healthy actions today!

And I really like how you didn't let your non-functioning magnetic key stop you from getting in some fitness.

Great job!

It's great that you were able to reorganize everything! Much easier to stay away from what isn't around.

Well, yesterday I ate more than my goal of 5-7 fruits and veggetables, drank almost all the water, and kept the television off as were in my goals. Unfortunately, I couldn't stay off the internet like I had planned, and I managed to sink to the frustration of my magnetic key to the fitness center not working and ended up not exercising at home. I did get more than my 8 hours of sleep on my last day of vacation, so I'm rested, but feeling rather lazy today. I've got to get my attitude turned around and forgive myself for not being perfect yesterday and not working out, so that I can go to the gym today and get back in the game. I have the fridge stocked with yummy, healthy foods, so I'm going to start with a banana and oatmeal this morning. I have already put all the foods in my house in my Weight Watchers calorie/point counter so today's assignment was complete before I started! I did manage to stay within the daily points I am alloted in the program yesterday. So for now, I will try to celebrate all that I did well yesterday and focus on doing even better today!

Hi Debb! Please post all your 21DHL progress into your main 21DHL journal thread. I'm merging this post with your main 21DHL thread. Also, I noticed you've been quoting original posts in your replies - There's actually no need to quote the full original posts. You can just reply directly or quote specific lines you'd like to reply to. More on the forum guidelines here. Thanks! :D

Thanks, Celes, I figured that out about the reply's this morning. What threw me was the reply button at the bottom of a message. I simply didn't scroll down far enough to find the quick reply box. It won't happen again. I still haven't figured out how to find my original post. I'll figure that out tomorrow when I post again. Sorry.

Hey Debb, don't worry about it! :D Forums in general can be quite confusing especially if we're using it for the first time. By the way, by "original post", are you referring to your 21DHL journal? The thread we're posting in now is your 21DHL journal :D

Well it's the end of my holiday vacation from work/school, so I'm posting tonight for tomorrow. I was able to turn it around today! I did 45 minutes of yoga from my P90X program, and added 20 situps, 20 modified pushups and 6 modified pull ups. I drank all my water, stayed within my Weight Watchers daily points, did not watch any tv. I have my alarm set for 4:40AM to get to the gym when it opens at 5, do my workout, and off to work for the day. I have a healthy lunch packed, workout clothes all ready, and a positive attitude. I have a grocery list of healthy foods I need to pick up at the end of the day to keep the house stocked with good stuff so I don't slip. I have the support of three friends to help me long distance in my new goals, you guys, and my friends at the gym. I'm psyched!

Hi Debb, I'm impressed at how well you're doing. I especially love the part about getting up at 4:40 because the gym opens at 5am.

Good to hear you're avoiding tv too. :) You won't miss it I'm sure. I haven't watched it for close to 5 years now. There are progrms you can install to block the internet browser at specific times of the day too which might help. I use one caled IM Lock.

Day 8. I have not posted, but I've been following my plan and have lost 1 pound. I have not had any coffee, diet pepsi or watched any TV! I have created my Ideal Meal Plan, and gone grocery shopping and have only healthy food choices in the house. I need to work harder at drinking my 8 glasses of water and I am not doing so well with the exercise, but that will come. I am pleased with the work I have done thus far. This weekend, I'm going to reassess where I am and where I need to focus my energy.

I must give you some :clap::clap::clap::clap::clap::clap::clap: When I first decided that I was going to get in shape, I purchased P90X. I sat on the sofa, previewed the workouts, and I must say...for you to do 45 minutes of anything P90X is commendable!!!

Thank you Kwamise...I would agree with you, P90X is tough. I'm not ready to do the whole program, but I'm hoping in a few months I will be more physically prepared to tackle it. Just getting myself to do some exercise every day is my first goal. Thank you!
