This is my first posting. It started with an attempt to create my own life list sugggested on the site by Celes. The shocking realization was I was absolutely clueless as to anything I wanted to do, wanted to achieve, actually cared about. I instead began with a list of things I thought I should want, all of them gathered from your lists. Today instead it is an embryonic approach to find those things that are mine. I have stopped thinking and started feeling, amazing after 57 years of breathing in and out. So far I have met each daily challenge. With love and gratitude I invite you to join my journey. Every passing minute is another chance to turn it all around.

It really is amazing how powerful just sitting still and thinking can be.

Congratulations on the beginning of your life transformation. As I always like to say, it's all in the journey, not the destination.

Love your message of life, "wild and precious". I have been so busy surviving that I missed the beauty of the moment. My plans are simple: to wake up, to let go of fear, to become present by being the best me I can. Stop trying to be what I think other people want me to be. That is what the challenge is all about for me: attention to and blending mind, body, relationship and spirit. To do the work and thereby learn who I am. Replace isolation and food by self-respect. Thank you for answering my thread. Please tell me about your life plan. You definitely appear a person I would like know!

Hi reddoc99,

your search seems to be the same as mine! When I read your posts, I think: hey, that could be me!

I have a big stone in my way: I don´t know how to not-think. Every time, when I try to feel the real me, I start thinking. And then I think about why I am thinking now, and then, the moment is gone. Do you have crawled over this stone? How?

Love Nin

I often find myself trying to conform to my family's expectations. Silly but so hard to break out of that mindset! I think they've come to accept the fact that I'm a super-organized free spirit!

Here it is in a nutshell:
live a simple, meaningful, balanced life in harmony with nature, with a deep sense of wonder towards the world, the universe, life, and encourage others to do the same

Kinda corny but certainly heartfelt.

with your one wild and precious life?

Hi Nin: I have spent my life doing the "right" thing without actually knowing what that was or why it was. The message was you do too "know", which only made me feel that much different, that I was somehow badly broken. I didn't dare tell anyone, admit my shame. So I thought, read constantly, studied movies all to "learn" how to be a human being and it worked until the day it didn't. Today I am working the tasks of the challenge, learning to respect myself, take care of myself, risk by sharing my fears and my journey. I thank you for your reponse. Today, this moment, by your caring action, I do not feel invisible. You granted me that gift You have allowed me to feel heard. Love to you in your journey, please keep in touch.

I read a book once that made me really think. We are all "entities"made of energy. Our body is the space ship that we use for traveling. We are not our body.We only use it for our purpose. So we should ask ourselves "who am I?"
"what do I really want?"This is the most important question.Anything we do,even the smallest, is a beautiful start to discovering ourselves.Love what you said "every passing minute is another chance to turn it all around."

I have been following the ongoing challenges. I never realized how removed and stationary my life had become. I had been unemployed for eight months, trying each day to find any kind of work and being told no again and again. I felt like an absolute failure having to borrow money from my children just to pay the rent, getting food from the food bank which made it impossible to eat healthy cuz that isn't what I was given but really grateful not to be hungry. But I with the 21DHL, I became engaged in my life, caring about how I treated myself and choosing to be positive. Today I got a job! It is only 6 hrs Saturday and Sunday but I am so grateful for this beginning. I believe it is all due to the challenge and the new attitude it has given me as I can look at each day and see I can make my life better a step at a time.

Hi reddoc99,

it´s wonderful to read, that you have a job now! I hope you enjoy it! How are you now, how are your goals in this challenge? Thank you for your reply. I think wo both think and feel almost the same about our today´s lifes.

I recently read a wonderful book from a german author. I found it in english, too. It is called "Love Yourself, and it Doesn't Matter Who You Marry ". It is all about thinking the right way, feel > think, and living your life, whatever all the others say. Maybe it´s avaiable at your library, too. It helped me a lot.

Love your threads...they always make me smile. My life just seemed an overwhelming failure to me and through the challenges I have found that making small changing result in hugh attitude adjustments. I no longer feel lonely, which is decidedly different from being alone which I do enjoy. You make me feel heard, like I actually exist if only in cyberspace. Blessings to you. Let me know more of your journey.
