(a) Why you want to cultivate meditation

I am in search of my inner peace and I am prepared to do the impossible to reach my highest potential!! And since every master (in anything) talks about meditation then it must work:)

(b) Time of your daily meditation and Duration

I will meditate in the morning after my tea for 5 mins for the first days and afterwards I will try and do more.

© Type of meditation you are going to do

I may do meditation in complete silence or with some classical music I have on my laptop.

What you wish to get out of your 21-day meditation journey

I wish to make meditation my new habit and I am sure this challenge will help me achieve this!

I am looking forward to it!!!

Do you like the sound of sea? Morning birds? I think those are great for meditation. :)

Yes I do like those sounds!!! I will try them maybe tomorrow!!:) Thank you Luis:)

Day 2

Well as you may have noticed I have skipped day 1 because of all the days yesterday was the day that I did not have any free time!!! (excuses excuses I know!!)

Anyhow today after two long days of emotional and physical tiredness I decided to do my five minutes of meditation! I light up an incense stick (sandalwood) and a candle and I sat there in the lotus position. I put on some classical music to play and I felt amazing!! Although I was trying to concentrate on my breath i couldn't help but notice various thoughts jumping here and there in my head. I think I did good and I would have continued if the voice of my flatmate did not interrupt my moment of silence:)

The incense is a really nice touch. :) Well done.

A shame you couldn't do it longer because of you flatmate's voice; that's why I think meditation is easier early in the morning, there are less distractions. :)

Yes I have to agree with you Luis!! Early in the morning there are less distractions!!!:)

So DAY 3

Today I meditated again late at night and this time I used this video to "guide" me: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TySC8sUIM...ideo_title

I really liked the part with the breaths but to be honest it kind of freaked me out!! I don't know why but it did!!

So I can't say that I enjoyed most of my meditation today, but at least I did a few minutes more than yesterday!!:)

So how long was it? The duration of the video?

You should try to get some of the free MP3 meditation tutorials that Celes suggests here: http://personalexcellence.co/forums/thre...-resources

I used "Discover Meditation" when I was starting out and I think it helped a lot. Their free course is good. Just be ready to receive e-mail advertising for their paid products.

So how was your day after meditation?

Good luck and keep it up, you rock! ;)

Well yesterday's video was about 9:15 but with all the distractions I only did 8!! I am feeling quite relaxed after my meditation but because I caught a cold these days I cannot help but having headaches most of the time!!
I had a look on the link you've sent me and today I used one of the guided meditations on there!

Day 4

Today I meditated for about 8 minutes to a guided meditation on Bringing about what you desire: http://www.fragrantheart.com/cms/free-au...you-desire
I can say it was good and I felt that I could do it more than 8 mins!

Tomorrow my goal is to do a 15 minute meditation!!

See, you're getting in the groove already. :) Guided meditation is powerful like that.

Actually, meditation is super-effective in helping to get rid of headache.

As you meditate, and breath in, visualize the life-giving breath coursing to your body. Visualize it as you imagine a life-giving energy to be - for me, it's sparkly, living green.

Then visualizing it converging in your head, in the parts that hurt. Imagine it penetrating the tissues and parts of the brain and scalp that hurt, and healing and soothing it.

Yeah, it might sound silly at first, but I have use this technique successfully to deal with back pain in the past. :) Let me know how it works for you.

Enjoy your meditation and the rest of your day! :)

To ksbisnauth good luck with your meditation!!

Luis I did not try it today because I was too concentrated into my meditation!!!

Day 5

18 minutes!!!! yaaaay:) that's a record for me!!:) I used guided meditation to enhance self esteem: http://www.fragrantheart.com/cms/free-au...elf-esteem

At the beginning I felt myself falling deeply into meditation but for a second I got out of it (I heard noises from my flatmate!) afterwards I continued and I felt my back aching so much I had to change my posture. It only took me a second to lie down but I think it interrupted a bit my meditation..

Other than those two little problems it was really good. It was the first time that I fell so deep into meditation!
I also visualised my secret sanctuary! It was amazing! It felt so beautiful!

Since the day I started meditating I feel more relaxed and more able to cope with different people in my life! People do not annoy me much these days and that's good (for both sides)!!:P

Great, you seem to be getting the hang of it! Well done! :)

So what does your sanctuary look like? Or is it a secret? ;)

No it's not a secret:) well actually it's in a forest! It looks like a bunch of huge rocks from the outside but when I get inside it's this calm disney movie-like place, where there are birds and squirrels and it's just me sitting on some rocks that are there like benches:) It is really simple and nice!!

There is something I need to write in my journal!!

Yesterday after my meditation on how to enhance self esteem I went out with my boyfriend and I noticed that I was letting go by things that would usually annoy me. For example if he would look at another girl or something I would feel bad about myself and I would get all jealous and stuff. I always knew that those stuff were normal and that I was doing it myself sometimes (just looking (not staring) at someone is quite innocent in my opinion) and I knew that those feelings came from my low self esteem!

But yesterday it was as if I did not care at all! I was so sure about my self and my relationship that I just kept on having a good time!

It might sound silly but I just realised it and I am pretty proud about that:)

Ah, your sanctuary seems like a nice place to hang out in. :)

Congratulations on feeling the benefits of meditation, and so soon, even. And you're right, it's normal for us guys to look, we're built that way. ;P

And it's a good cycle - the more you notice it, and the more you feel your relationship getting better from it, the better your self-esteem will become!

Luis I feel that it is not just for guys normal to look:) I've noticed that I sometimes look more than my partner:) hahahha human relationships are really funny sometimes:)

Day 6

No Meditation!! My fault!!!!

Day 7

I did a six minutes guided breathing meditation!! I couldn't really concentrate because I am very tired (since I had only 3 hours of sleep last night) and I was feeling really all over the place!

I will do better tomorrow:)

Really? :D Ahaha maybe I'm very blind, because I didn't usually notice the girl I was with checking people out, and I only notice single girls checking me out.

You bneed to pick better hours to meditate. What about waking up 10 minutes earlier? ;)

And discreet is no fun, I want to be oggled at! :D

Woohoo changed my hours of meditation!!:) IT is 2 hours after I woke up!!:) Soooo Day 11

Today I meditated for 9 minutes! I felt really nice while doing it because I wasn't tired like other times!! I also felt something really weird! So I was meditating to this guided meditation: http://www.fragrantheart.com/cms/free-au...you-desire and when we were supposed to feel exactly how it would feel if we had the think that we wanted I noticed that I felt something like a flash or I do not know how to describe it! A really strong feeling that lasted only for a second!

Afterwards when we were supposed to come out of meditation I found my self going deeper and deeper and I literally did not want to come out of it!
I really liked it today though:)
