Ah! So I forgot to start up my journal yesterday, so I'm going to be playing a little bit of catch up, but its all good!
Day 0: Pre Work
Okay. So far, my ideal condition that I wish to end my 21DHL in is toned up, a little bit slimmed as far as extra baggage goes. I really want to be off of sodas, caffeine, sweets, and fast food. Instead, I'm wanting to have a fruit each morning to start off, and then eat more healthy throughout the day. Salads on Wednesday, sandwiches on Tuesday and Thursday. My only constraint is that at school, there really isn't much healthy food to go around. Pizza, burgers, nachos, and burritos galore! But very limited healthy choices.. So to accommodate this change, I'm wanting to start rising and retiring earlier. I planned for 8am on weekends, and 6am on weekdays. I'm just not sure how sleep will work out. I'm a teenager and I've read in some random places that I need MORE sleep than usual, so I'm really going to have to accommodate that the right way. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get a better sleep in the time I have?
In addition, instead of only focusing on my health and lifestyle, I want to mix some personal projects to accomplish and keep me going. I used to produce some instrumentals here and there a few years back when I had the time. I really love it, and my musical abilities have grown since then, so I really believe that I could do even better than what I had done in the past. My only problem is that I don't have the time to do it anymore. So to fix this, I planned a rough production phase for my music to follow that should help me stay on track and produce. Along with that, I play the violin and viola, and our string solo and ensemble competition is coming up in a few months. To prepare for this, I planned practice sessions throughout the week on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday to help get me prepared. Luckily for me, playing viola is a good emotional release for me, so this should ultimately help out very well in the long run.
So.. That is what I had done for my Pre 21DHL Work. What do you think? To anyone who will be following me, do you have any suggestions or words of advice?
Please and Thank You!
Day 1: Drink 8 Glasses of Water
Whoo! I'm beginning my challenge on a relatively good foot. I have started waking up earlier, but unfortunately, due to the New Year's Celebration, it wasn't as early as I had hoped for. Instead, I woke up around 8:45, but considering that I'm still getting loads of work done, I don't see it as that bad--I just need to adjust accordingly for tomorrow. Hmm.. I might just take a nap later.. But other than that, I'm doing good. I woke up, stretched, showered, and went off to work. I'm going to have an apple in a little bit, once I finish this post.. I am looking forward to it...
Plans for Today:
Practice "Apres un Reve" on viola for at least 30 minutes
Finish Chemistry work for school on Monday
Work out and do some cardio with DDR!
Food Log: 1/1/11
Two serving of whole natural almonds
BBQ Plate with rice, beans, potato salad, and tortilla chips
1 slice of Chocolate Cake
Exercise Log: 1/1/11
15 Minutes of Core Stability Exercises
So according my calculations, I need a little more than 2 L of water per day. Doesn't sound too bad.. Just need to have about 7 glasses of water... Right? About 6 soda cans worth of water?
Eh.. I really like Metrics better..
So I was doing really well today (as far as my diet is concerned), until dinner hit. My step-dad grilled up fajitas and me and mother spend time in the kitchen prepping potato salad and cake for everyone in celebration of my younger step-bro's birthday. I don't feel good about eating it, but I did force myself to have water with it! I just realized I need to stay away from the food as best as I can, because then I'll get the tendency to overeat.
