I've meditated twice today:
Early morning: 5 minutes
Early evening: 15 minutes

My insight : I am really enjoying the meditation sessions, and they are very helpful. Usually, I feel quite tired and drained after a day at work, and I feel energised after the meditation session.
Also, I don't really like guided meditations (at least those I've tried) - I feel distracted by the voice. The fact that I am listening to what the person is saying does not allow me to relax. I find breathing meditations or mantras much better, or even music like this Example

Day 4 completed.

The Meditation lasted for at least 10 Mins. I am still in the guided meditation, but I can feel that I can do it on my own one of these days, when I know I am ready, I will let you all know. :)

I feel much calmer. Especially that I do this in the evening, I feel energized and just calmer.

Meditation for me so far is being able to have a real time for yourself. It is being in that moment when you just focus on yourself, and just being aware.

I am so proud of everyone here in 21DMC :)

Proud to be part of this.

A key learning fact for me is that being quiet within myself and letting my thoughts flow, observing them and not worrying too much about them has been exciting.

Hi Atira, no problem - Simply fall into the respective day's group thread to have your meditations for the earlier days tracked. I've recorded your meditation for Day 4 for now. (Will upload the updated group progress chart at the end of the day later - I'm going out now for dinner and will be back soon!)

I meditated for 5 minutes by listening to a relaxing song in the early morning and I tried also to meditate for 9 minutes in this evening, by listening a meditation video from youtube.

My reflections for the day are:
1) I want to find a way for integrating the practice of meditation into my whole life, not only in my free time.. at my job, for example, I often forget about it and these moments of meditation are only parts of my morning and evening ritual - I`ll try to change this from tomorrow by consciously breathing more often, following my steps and finding ways to meditate while being outside.

2) even if this sounds silly, I believe that meditation already has some effects on my mind and body: my last 2 days were very, very busy and long at work, I slept lesser than usual and anyway I still was and I still am quite full of energy, focused and smiling :)

3) in a way, smiling and hugging somebody (dear or stranger) are making me feel more present than a guided meditation

Have a wonderful Wednesday, everybody!

p.s: dear Celes, today you touched again so beautifully my life and made me so happy  : while I was waiting on the line on a supermarket, I helped just a little bit the lady behind me, we started to talk and then she was so kind and helped me to receive some fidelity points and many cartoon stickers for my nephew - I was so thrilled and touched by her kindness (and right then I remembered about your beautiful comment on the Emotional Generosity Day from 30BBM  ) that I asked her if I can hug her - and I even did it, yayyy!!! - it felt sooooo wonderful doing it and the lady was only a smile, just like me after it and during all my evening walk to home - thank you from all my heart for it glompglompglomp
Well, hugging a stranger is on my bucket list, but that lady felt like a friend after only few moments, so I don`t know if I should consider this as an completed item from it or not.. I think I need a real stranger :D

15 minutes. Today I focused on healing. I've had a cold (or something) going into four weeks that just won't die from the antibiotics. I take good care of myself including supplementation so this has been very frustrating. My work, self improvement projects, and attitudes are all flagging under this prolonged illness.

I'm trying to accept that things like this happen form time to time.

I repeated to myself "My body heals quickly and naturally." I rarely focus on statements like these and they are fun when I do.

I'm feeling a little better. :)

I've meditated twice today:
Early morning: 20 minutes (Body Awareness Meditation)
Evening: 15 minutes (Emotional Ease)

I was a bit impatient this morning, but the meditation still let me calm me down at least.
I meditated in the evening as well, because I felt like my emotions were blocking me from functioning normally. Felt good to meditate at this point in time!

One thing I learnt is that meditation can help you understand who you are, let yourself be who you are, and not let the thoughts get the upper hand.

5 minutes done - a lot for me considering the stuff that I've done today :)

Key insight: Even five minutes makes a difference. Putting meditation off because of other "more important" stuff is just one big fat excuse. I can spend 5 minutes less in facebook or on the phone!

Hi!
I tried something different today, 25 min with Wayne Dyer's meditations of the Tao Te Ching ("Change Your Thoughts, Change Your Life") which are in audiobook and book format. I really reccommend them! They might be more reflections than meditations, but I made two of them my meditation today, focusing on posture and breathing and concentrating completely on being open and listening.
Thanks for everything Celes, I'm catching up with posting :) I think it's easier for you if I post first on the right day's thread and THEN on my journal with some more details. http://personalexcellence.co/forums/thre...on-journal

Day 4: 10 minutes completed!

One key insight I've realized is (like you've mentioned Celes) to just go with the flow and acknowledge my thoughts as they come. I am doing a guided meditation where I am instructed to visualize a stream that has everything that one wants in life- perfect health, wealth, and happiness. Today, I had thoughts such as "how does the stream feel on your skin...can you imagine the feeling of the cool crisp water? I also had thoughts of pursuing my goals and that I would be able to accomplish them. It was a nice feeling and I think I can see myself making meditation a priority for the future! I've also had some trouble concentrating because I have plenty of distractions while meditating. But, as time goes on I'm going to try and meditate first thing in the morning and just before I go to sleep at night. Let's see how it goes. Good luck to everyone :)

I just completed another 12 minutes for Day Four. I should have read Celes' post before meditating because I did try unsuccessfully to "think about nothing". I was trying to keep calm and reign in my thoughts when my normally skittish cat jumped into my lap. Even she knew I was relaxed more than normal.

My insight would be that the old saying "90% of life is just showing up" is true. My first job is to make the time and space in my life, the fine tuning of meditation will follow.

Did 20 minutes today!

I didn't get to it until the end of my day, but I made myself do it, even though I just wanted to go to bed.

What have I learned so far? That this is a different kind of focusing. Generally, I'm really good at zeroing in on the task at hand, and getting it done, no matter what kind of mayhem is going on around me. Trying to just be quiet is much more difficult. I guess I'm used to having something occupy my mind, have some kind of movement toward getting something done. This is different!

I did again about 15 min before I went to bed. To be honest, I didn't check the time because I didn't feel like doing it.
It was ok, but not as good as day 3. I think it's because next week, I have to hand in my master's thesis, one of my big rocks to be able to finish my studies, so I'm a little bit out of focus for meditation right now.
This thing took me forever, but now I'm almost done!!!

Since I spent a lot of time in the library this week, I wasn't able to stick to my original schedule where I planned to mediate around lunchtime (2pm). (I could have done it there, too, but it just didn't feel right for me.) However, I'm proud that I skipped only one day (sunday).
What I learned is that right now it's better for me to meditate when I completed my day's tasks. This might change next week :)

-1st time: 37:09 mins to Silva life system and I am on the 9th CD. This one had 2 meditations and I did them, in one sitting.

Key Insight:
Whenever I can’t figure something out right away and/or forgot what I was doing. I have been saying, to myself, to stop and take a min. So, I close my eyes and take a breath. And I end up finding out what ever it was I needed:) Also, it is coming more naturally.

I have few more insights, in my Journal.

Hope everyone has a great day:D
