Hey everyone! Welcome to Day 3 of 21DMC! :D

Congratulations to those of you who have completed your Day 2's meditation! :D For some of you, it may still be Day 2 on your end, so don't fret. I'm posting Day 3 early as some participants are in faster time zones, but in reality just fall in whenever it's the respective day in your country.

Here's the group progress chart so far (see below):

To be included in the chart every day, simply fall into the group meditation threads that are posted in this very forum daily.

If you were unable to do your meditation for Days 1-2 for some reason, don't fret. Simply identify the reasons why you weren't able to, note them down in your meditation journal, then try again today (Day 3). Remember, it's not a race - it's about cultivating this habit for the long haul!

HELP NEEDED: Post your meditation in the respective day's group thread

Some of you have posted both your Days 1 and 2's meditation in Day 2's thread. I seek your help to post your individual meditations on the day itself, for easier tracking, and also so it's easier for other members to refer. Otherwise, we will run into situations later on where members post their meditations from Days 1-4 on Day 4, or Days 2-5 on Day 5, and so on, and it will quickly become very messy. I hope you can understand!

Also, posting your individual day's meditation on the day's thread itself will make you more regimented in adhering to each day's meditation, as you'll know you need to "report" in to your meditation journal every day. This will help you to better cultivate your desired habit to meditate daily.

Share Your Meditation Experience For Day 3!

  1. Were you able to complete your meditation practice today? Why/Why not?
  2. If yes, how did your meditation go? What meditation did you do? Where did you meditate? How long did you meditate for?
  3. Anything you want to share about the meditation itself?
  4. Anything you have learned for yourself today? (whether related or non-related to meditation)

Look forward to reading your updates! :D

So today i get to be lucky poster number 1 ! Celes - not sure if Im on your chart as Matt (my real name) or zoom6628 (my not so real name) but I have done day 1 and 2 and just journaled for my day 3. Guess im the first because SHanghai is GMT+8 and we dont have anybody else in the timezone whose reporting this early. What a privilege to be first. So today was another 15 minutes and it started smoothly, i kept the same physical sitting position (not ideal position but at least one that worked for me), and a whole lot fewer thoughts in the head. Looking forward to again seeing today the flow on effects to my work as I have a few but deeply technical issues to deal with today. During this challenge Im working on not just the regular habit but also to set in a better sitting position. Great to hear of others who are managing longer times, and multiple meditations during the day.....gives me encouragement and motivation to work towards longer sessions later. Hope can get back to at least 1 meditation of one hour per week by the end of the challenge.

Wishing everyone else great work in their meditiations.

Hey zoom/Matt! Simply update in the respective day's thread and I'll get to updating the names in due time (within 24 hours). I will only update based on participants who report into the group threads stating they have completed their meditations for *that* day, with the respective timings.

Speaking of which I did see your post in Day 1's group thread and have noted it down on the progress chart. For Day 2, I saw your post but it didn't seem to mention anything about your meditation for Day 2, so it was unclear as to whether you were reporting in your progress or just making a general comment - hence I have not included your name for Day 2 yet. Perhaps you want to post another post in Day 2's thread on your Day 2 meditation progress?

And congratulations on being the first one to report on your meditation for Day 3! :D We have a few posters in the early time zones too :D (Amanda is from Singapore at GMT +8; there are Australians here too I believe who are at GMT +10 / +11).

Completed 19 minutes of morning meditation using blend of Silva method and about 2/3 of time spent in silence. This time I did it sitting with legs crossed and hands in meditation mudra and it was much easyer to go deep without distractions. One thing that bothers me a bit is - when I do free form, not guided meditation, it's hard to know when to stop. At some point meditation feels complete, but at the same time it is also feeling of being most relaxed.

Today was a bit more productive. I started my day with a 41-minute meditation session. :)

It was mostly pleasant, but it ended in a way that was somewhat unsettling.

Details on my journal.

Have an awesome day, everyone. :)

Hey elezhara! My bad - seems I missed out on your post on Day 2. I've updated the chart with your progress. Keep up the great work everyone! :D

I got in 5 min this morning. For some reason, when I sit still, time seems to slow down, in my mind. When I open my eyes, its like no time has passed at all ;)

Hopefully I will get in more time tonight!

if you can't laugh at yourself...;)

Day 3: 45 minutes total

15 minute guided meditation - tried de-stress one from Meditation Oasis, it was nice.

30 minute walking meditation - focusing on stillness within and being present to the environment around me.

Day 3: 15 minutes.
I did the 'Morning meditation' by meditation oasis. Was nice, but I still feel there's more out there. Let the rest of the month come!

Day 3 done.
I'm quite restless today and found it difficult to focus.
I've only done 8 minutes today. But still it was good and I felt better afterwards.

I meditated for 10 minutes sitting on a chair . But today I felt like I was engaging in my thoughts more than the previous times I tried .

Day 3 completed.

I figured out that on weekdays, since I got work, I only get to meditate in the evening. So Today, I meditated yet another type of meditation called 'Breath Awareness Meditation' from the 'Meditation Oasis' website.

The Guided Meditation lasted about 9 mins and 27 seconds.

I think, I would prefer the Yoga Nidra Meditation among the 4-5 meditation that I have tried so far. I am not quite sure, but I think I have concentrated more on the said Meditation compare to the others that I've tried.

We'll see. I will try to meditate again later before I sleep.

I hope all of you are enjoying the progress that we are making. I am. :)

My results for Day 3 are: 33 minutes of serenity and pure relaxation

Earlier I wrote a long reply here and I just realized I lost it by mistake.. Anyway, I`m still enthusiast, energized and relaxed after completing a session of guided meditation from here

It was special, it was the first time for me when I felt every piece of my body completely relaxed and I experienced new sensations while entering into deeper states of mind.
I followed Matt`s great advice from Day 2 and I continued to meditate even when somebody started to talk loud on the phone in the next room - after few minutes I succeeded to completely ignore that noise and it just became a part of the surroundings.

It was beautiful, beautiful, beautiful and at the end of it my body was very relaxed, it felt so easy and my mind was much more focused and calm. Also, for a period of time after the meditation I had a very strong sense of my skin - it was a lovely feeling of warmth on all my skin which made me feel very present into my body. Actually I`m still feeling it, even if it`s not so strong any more. Oh, my heart was filled with a pure, shining joy.. I just had to dance for a while, enjoying all these new feelings

I just can`t wait to do it again!

While working on this challenge, meditating, learning about it and feeling and living so many new experiences, I`m feeling so grateful and happy that I`m here - it feels like the discovery and exploration of a new territory for me and it`s extraordinary - so thank you, Celes for opening my eyes and mind to it

It`s wonderful knowing we`re all doing this together

Lots of love to all of you!

p.s: sorry if this a too much detailed post for this thread, Celes, I`ll try to start a journal soon.
