Hey everyone! Welcome to Day 20 of 21DMC! :D

Time flies... in the blink of an eye, we're now nearing the end of 21DMC.

I apologize for the continued downtime - I wish we can be spending the last days of 21DMC on a better note, but unfortunately this is the way things are, so it's about making the best of it. I've just purchased a VPS space (Virtual Private Server), and the site migration will occur in the next 24-48 hours or so. There may be more downtime while we're waiting for the VPS to be set up (since the current account specs are not enough to accommodate the site). If so, just refresh a few times (even when you see the internal server errors), and you should be able to load up the page after that.

Now that it's just 1 day left in 21DMC, I'd like to invite you to share your last thoughts regarding 21DMC. It can be anything - be it something, or nothing at all. Tomorrow, which is the last day of 21DMC, I'll be inviting everyone to evaluate how your past 3 weeks of 21DMC has been, and whether you would like to continue with this meditation habit moving forward. We will then be identifying our own plan moving forward to ensure that we will continue on with the habit, even long after the challenge is over.

Group Meditation Chart

Here are is the group progress chart for Week 3 so far:

To get your meditation sessions recorded in this chart, please fall into the respective day's group threads and report your meditation progress as well as the length of time you've meditated. Thank you!

Share Your Meditation Experience For Day 20!

  1. Were you able to complete your meditation practice today? Why/Why not?
  2. If yes, how did your meditation go? What meditation did you do? Where did you meditate? How long did you meditate for?
  3. Anything you want to share about the meditation itself?
  4. Anything you have learned for yourself today? (whether related or non-related to meditation)

Look forward to reading your updates! :D

Hey Celes!

It's fine, things break. As far as downtime goes, this wasn't too bad. :)

Today I meditated for 43 minutes (and also posted my day 19 on the previous thread). Details here.

I've met some nice people here in the forums. That's what first comes to mind when I think about the challenge. That's the best possible outcome, I think.

Good luck with your expansion, let me know if you need a hand. :)

OK, so I meditated for nine minutes today :D

1 day left... Post your last thoughts:

Firstly, I would like to thank you for the nice challenge  The challenge was a good one. I think I learnt what daily meditation is like.

BTW, thanks for your reply of my previous post.

Hi!

Today I meditated for 30 min in the morning. Details will be up later though. Didn't have the time in the morning ;)

A thought for this challenge has definitely been about how many people that are supporting each other in here and how you, Celes, has managed to make a site that pulls so many people together from all over the world.
It's really awesome. So big kudos to all of us :D

Wish you all a great Thursday :)

15 minutes! :)

I've learned that it's very easy to do it if you make it a priority.

Completed 18 minutes.
The relaxed feeling, that I'm usually experiencing nearly whole day after meditation really gives a lot of joy!

Day 20: 10 minutes, Tara Brach Gateway to Presence

After almost 3 weeks, I really love how this has become almost as much a habit as brushing my teeth! I am proud to have made it a priority even on days it would have been easy to skip. I am interested to see if I can continue on a regular basis. And I am a bit sad that it is all coming to an end....

9 mins today.

Well I was expecting to reach more minutes in my meditation challenge but even the 18 minutes I reached were really something for me!
Meditation helped me in was I could not even imagine.

I became a vegetarian, I was in a positive mood (most of the times), and in general it made me feel more relaxed. Although each week I was missing a day or 2 I am going to continue doing it after the challenge is finished:)

Hi Andria,

I just checked out the link to your (new?) web site--it looks great! I'm going through the same process of transitioning into coaching from a background in psychology, and really enjoying it.

Best of luck! :)

Day 20: Time 17 minutes
Today I was able to set aside some time for meditation even though I was quite busy all morning.
I find I am happy to slip into meditation whenever there is an opportunity to do so. I hope this is a habit that I will continue after the 21 days are over.

DAY 20

  1. Were you able to complete your meditation practice today? Why/Why not?
    -YES!
  2. If yes, how did your meditation go?
-Much more peaceful and less effort to concentrate compared to the past few days. It's amazing how stress can affect all aspects of one's life. I think lighting some candles helped, too.

    What meditation did you do?
-2 different guided podcasts from Meditation Oasis, back to back: "Chakra Meditation" and "Nature Attunement Meditation."

    Where did you meditate?
    -in my bedroom.

How long did you meditate for?
    -total of 35 minutes.
  3. Anything you want to share about the meditation itself?
-I find the Meditation Oasis podcasts are the easiest to follow for me personally. It was hard to let go of thinking about my busy day, but I notice with practice that it gets easier.
  4. Anything you have learned for yourself today? (whether related or non-related to meditation)
-I have such a hard time with self-discipline, with going to bed early, with doing all my tasks at the same time of day. I'm a huge procrastinator. Yet I know when I follow a set schedule, that I feel better and have more energy. It's a paradox!

Overall, I notice that meditation is not only a great stress management tool, but it allows your heart to soften a little bit, and one becomes less judgemental, of other people and themselves.

Day 20 - 12 minutes mind and position was ok. Legs complaining loudly but as a result of some over exertive moves at Yoga the night before. Sitting as usual on the floor - thats my cushion and mat in the picture. As always sitting in the morning after having a coffee and breathing the morning Shanghai air through the open window.

Day 20 was a 15 minute meditation.
Don't know if this is just my awareness or if it's really happening, but these past three weeks I feel like everywhere I turn I see articles, books or shows on meditation and how vital it is for health. I will take the lessons of this challenge and build a regular and varied meditation practice. Thank you all for your part in supporting me these past three weeks. :)

I did 3 5-minutes meditations throughout the day today. I'm trying to work it into the way I deal with everyday stuff.

Meditated 20 minutes today.

I'm glad to say to that meditation is becoming a natural part of my daily routine. I'm not meditating for long periods of time like some other members have been doing (great job guys!) but I'm glad that I am taking at least some time each day to meditate and get in touch with my inner self. I still get restless sometimes when meditating but I'm sure as I continue and time passes I will be meditating for longer periods. I'm going to continue to keep meditating before work each day since it's such a great way to start my day.
