Hey everyone! Welcome to Day 14 of 21DMC! :D

In a blink of an eye, it's now the end of our 2nd week of 21DMC. We're now 2/3s of our way into 21DMC, with just 1 week left.

For today's post, I'd like to invite you to share what your key learnings have been for yourself in this 2nd week of 21DMC, above and beyond what you learned in your first week. Spend a few minutes thinking about this, then share them with all of us here!

Group Progress Chart To Date

Please find the group progress chart so far (see below):

To be included in the chart every day, simply fall into the group meditation threads that are posted in this very forum daily.

Share Your Meditation Experience For Day 14!

  1. Were you able to complete your meditation practice today? Why/Why not?
  2. If yes, how did your meditation go? What meditation did you do? Where did you meditate? How long did you meditate for?
  3. Anything you want to share about the meditation itself?
  4. Anything you have learned for yourself today? (whether related or non-related to meditation)

Look forward to reading your updates! :D

Your key learnings have been for yourself in this 2nd week of 21DMC, above and beyond what you learned in your first week.

Well, I thought that I was doing meditation wrongly, but since I felt little peace after meditating in a certain way, I guessed I was doing it the right way. And the other thing is, I forget to observe the thoughts sometimes.

_______________________________________________________
Today I meditated for 21 minutes this morning, I need to get some work done, so I am not doing it for an hour.

Hi Everybody,

Key learnings so far
- consistent daily practice brings results
- the steadiness of posture affects effectiveness
- breathing deeper brings a heightened awareness
- working with a group adds an extra dimension
- meditation can be done in motion in any position, it is a bit like taking the mind on holiday or giving it a break for a few minutes

Today's meditation 15 minutes.

Day 14: 40 minutes

I can't say that I've learned something entirely new, but I can say that my idea of meditation as a concept is solidifying, and I'm getting a better feel for what it means to myself and others, and how the several varieties of it work, and what expectations to have.

Day 14: 2h

Meditation is truly being a part of me...and it'll most probably be my all-term habit (except I may scale down on the 2h bit...to about 30min/day??) I've also learnt more about meditation - varieties, expectations, etc. that can sort-off apply to life. (E.g. know that there are different ways you can go about doing something, or that you should have expectations that aren't too low or too high)

I don't really think it's...that big...

Btw, please update my day 11 (2h)...I was super late in updating (sorry...)

Hello guys, my blog has been launched. Hope you can pop by! Great Life Blog

Day 14: 10 minutes - Simply Being from Meditation Oasis

A little distracted today, but still such a positive way to start my busy day!

This week, I've learned that sometimes it's helpful just to 'get it done', and be consistent in my practice, rather than skipping a session because I don't have a lot of time and am concerned that it won't be a 'good enough' meditation. What I really hope to do at the end of this three weeks is to take that learning and apply to my workout practice. I'm often skipping workouts because I feel I can't devote 'enough' time to it. I end up doing nothing when a little something would be beneficial!

Day 14 - 20 mins
Guided meditation focusing on the breath. Felt great peace and emptiness at the start, as though I could rest in that space forever. For whatever reason the image of someone running came into my mind, bringing a sense of freedom and openness. I did get a little sleepy and sluggish towards the end of the meditation.

Regarding lessons learnt this week, the main one has been to enjoy the practice of meditation rather than focusing on the result or what I should be feeling. In the first week I think I was a little too focused on making sure I was doing everything right. This meditation challenge has come to represent a quiet little space for me each day, which I aim to enjoy rather than make too academic.

Today I did 11 minutes of guided meditation . What I've learned is that I really underestimated meditation and it has helped me relax

Hi to all fellow travelers,
Day 14: 13 minutes.
I am still feeling my way. I do not have time to explore the varieties of meditations and have contented myself with being silent for as long as I can, sitting upright with my eyes closed, focusing on breathing in and out, and enjoying the peace of not thinking, not speaking, not doing but just being. What others have recorded as significant to themselves seems to be so true. I think most of those who have written before me have expressed themselves very well... the mind being on holiday, a quiet little space for me, the discipline of sitting down each day without worrying about the end result being excellent, the mental clutter not quite so obtrusive now.
More than in the first week, I look forward to sitting down to meditate each day as it helps me to be more dispassionate and deliberate in my responses to external stimuli than I was earlier.

Hi all,

My key learnings are that this practice is extremely important, but that on the days I need it most, there ends up being no time for formal practice. So I just try to bring the practice to my daily, moving around life. Just stopping to take a moment from time to time to disengage from what I'm doing and breathe and untense is really helpful and practical.

Day 14 - 18 minutes.

My key learning is that meditation is very powerful for relaxation and mental boost. It's not necessary to have long sessions, even 5 minutes can make a lot of difference after a stressful day.

Day 14.

I did a part of Yoga Nidra, about 21 mins plus some yoga about 9 mins so 30 mins in total.

For me, this week is finding what meditation is best for you, what you find peaceful and calming. You create your own way of meditation that suits for you. Its finding whats comfortable for you.

Day 14:
I meditated for 20 min.
I´ve learned that results come with everyday work. Now I´m starting to see the benefits of meditation, I feel better, more relaxed and every time I feel stressed I sit down and do a quick meditation to calm down. It´s great!

Did 30 min of yoga meditation today. Details will be up later since ive barely been home.
Key learnings for this weeks meditation must be what Luis told me in my latest post, to look at where I started and see how far I've got. Its so easy to just move on forward and wanting more things to happen, that I forget to look at everything that did happen and put that in perspective.
So a big thank you to Luis for bringing that up :))

Enjoy the weekend everybody! :D

Day 14 - I meditated for 16 minutes again.

The biggest thing I learned this week is that meditation does not have to always be done in typical cross legged position. I experimented with whichever position my body wanted to be in[/align] and was far more successful
