Hey everyone! Welcome to Day 11 of 21DMC! :D

We've passed the mid-point of our 21-day meditation challenge! :D By now, you'd have experienced 10 days of serious, intense meditation (or at the very least, attempted to adhere to your schedule to meditate). I'm absolutely amazed by some of you who have meditated for 1-2 hours each day - for sure, you are cultivating immense benefits as a result of your sessions. Know that whatever input you invest will lead to an output, and the time you're dedicating to your sessions are paying off as we speak - in terms of possibly heightened metal clarity, increased calmness, increased happiness, increased connection with your intuition, among others.

There's only 10 days or 1.5 weeks left till the end of 21DMC, during which you would have completed 3 weeks of meditation. Sometimes it's easy to get caught up in doing something for the sake of doing something, and that's the last thing I want any of you to be doing for your meditation sessions. Today, on top of adhering to your day's meditation schedule, I'd like to invite you to think over this question - "Why do you want to meditate?". While you may be sticking to your meditation schedule now in part due to the meditation challenge in TPEB, there is a reason why you're drawn to meditation as a habit - a reason that exists deep inside of you. I'd like you to think over your motivations for meditation today and share with the group in your replies to today's group thread.

Group Progress Chart

Here's an update on the group progress so far:

To be included in the chart every day, simply fall into the group meditation threads that are posted in this very forum daily.

Share Your Meditation Experience For Day 11!

  1. Were you able to complete your meditation practice today? Why/Why not?
  2. If yes, how did your meditation go? What meditation did you do? Where did you meditate? How long did you meditate for?
  3. Anything you want to share about the meditation itself?
  4. Anything you have learned for yourself today? (whether related or non-related to meditation)

Look forward to reading your updates! :D

Gandhi said "Be the way you want the world to be". I know that i have significant shortcomings of character and outlook and meditation, when i do it, i feel changes me for the better. At the moment the change lasts for a few hours after each sitting but I can experience the change and others see it too. So this is positive and as I do want the world to be a better place for all future generations, then I "need to do my homework". Each day I do feel that the meditation is something positive for myself and for those with whom i come in contact during the day. Im no Gandhi or HHDL but if I set my personal bar so high then i have a lifetime's worth of homework. No excuse now, ever, to say i have nothing to do, or Im bored, or dont know what to do!

Just completed 20 minutes sitting. The sitting position is getting more and more comfortable each day.

Completed 10 minutes in the morning.
There are many reasons why I meditate - it helps to clear inernal blockages and set events in motion, experience sinhronicities. It makes me more calm and helps to go through everyday ups and downs in calm, centered way. And sometimes some deeply burried and forgotten things come up, which I can later explore using some of the methods described in Cele's blog - like finding root cause, letting go or looking into annoyances.

Hi Everyone,
I meditate to give clarity and strength to my thoughts, in a similar way to spring cleaning a room. We are all infuenced by our thoughts. Trying to master the internal voices and focus them together like the rays of the sun into one strong beam. For me meditation is relaxed concentration and awareness of my body and mind, guiding it with gentle but firm consciousness.
20 minutes meditation today.

day 11
i meditated for 30 min. i did guided healing meditation. while doing meditation thoughts were very less, i was able to control my negative thoughts.... today i learnt that don't try to change person or situation, change your way to deal with it. " If you want things to be different , perhaps the answer is to become different yourself."

 Meditation is the acknowledgement with the inner self:heart:

Day 11

Today I meditated for 15 minutes which is great because 15 was my original goal. I hope I can keep it up for the remaining 10 days!

I meditate because I want that space between stimulus and response, where my soul can breathe and guide me and because I want more peace in the world and I figure the best place to start is with myself :)

Why do you want to meditate?

I meditate mainly to get rid of unwanted thoughts, to gain clarity and to raise my consciousness :D

If yes, how did your meditation go? What meditation did you do? Where did you meditate? How long did you meditate for?

Meditation went a little good. I did three types and they are-

1. The one from your article "How To Meditate In 5 Simple Steps" (This one is what I usually do)

2. Transcendental meditation

And I am not sure about the name of the other meditation though :/

I meditated on my bed and on the floor. I meditated for 2 hours :D

Day 11: 23 minutes

Today I did a longer Tara B. meditation with a focus on listening and presence. I felt a lot of relief from stress/pressure I was carrying about NEEDING to THINK about things, and instead release to allow. It's a process, I will keep coming back to it.

I meditate to calm the thinking, to remember to be present to life, and to ease the anxiety caused by my menopausal hormonal imbalances. Mostly because my life is better when I take the time for a daily meditation.

I meditated for 10 minutes today, in two 5-minute sessions.
My first was a moving meditation, during my morning walk. I worked on emptying my mind and being fully present to the moment, just breathing and being aware.
My second session was another moving meditation of sorts, while I did the dishes. I focused on my breath, counting each inhalation and exhalation. Every time a thought entered, I went back to my breath and continued counting, and the thought fell away. It was quite lovely.

Day 11: I did a 20 minute guided meditation led by Dr. Wayne Dwyer. It was interesting as I was not used to vocalizing and making noise during my meditations. I almost felt like that broke the calm and made me distracted. More details at my journal.

Were you able to complete your meditation practice today? Why/Why not?

I haven't been able to do any formal meditation since last Thursday, since my schedule is busier and less structured on weekends. I have been able to spend a few minutes each day in prayer, though. I plan to meditate during my lunch break today if possible or this evening, although it is looking like it's going to be another back to back day!

I really believe meditation is the best thing I can do for my health and well being!

Day 11. Time:11 minutes
For the last two days I had difficulty finding time to meditate. Oddly enough, I meditated on Day 9 for 9 minutes, on Day 10 for 10 minutes and today, Day11 for 11 minutes. The long arm of coincidence, nothing more.
Why do I meditate? Why do I want to meditate? As Celes observed, it is partly to continue something I have started, especially as I have companions with me on this inner journey of the spirit. The other reason is that it seems to be the equivalent of a cleansing, refreshing bath, or an energy drink for the soul. and sometimes a self-imposed and yet pleasing form of discipline.

Today I meditated 20 minutes, counting my breaths to 150.

Why I meditate ? Because I want to quieten the thoughts in my head and also because I want to live in the present moment. I realised a few months ago that my mother always talked to me saying what she wants to do (or wants me to do) in the future and I realised I had most probably been raised that way and that is why I have difficulties to live in the present moment. I hope that eventually meditation is going to help me with this issue.

Day 11.

Meditated for 12 minutes in a guided meditation of i think 18 mins. I got distracted of my yawning. :P I think I have to try meditating in the morning rather than in the evening. :)

I wanted to meditate because i wanted to be able to know myself more, I wanted to be able to do this knowing that I have answers within me. I wanted to be able to take away my thoughts and try to focus more.

By the way Celes, I meditated yesterday, Day 10, it just that our internet connection was not working properly that I only get to blog it this morning. Thanks!

Today I did a 20 min meditation.

I want to make meditation a habit because it helps me calm down and relax. I like "spending some time with myself" ;)
It also helps me clear my mind and look at things a different way. Since we started the challenge, I´ve made a really big change in my life, now I wake up early, do my exercise routine and meditate before my classes, and it helps me so much. Now I´m not one of those people who go to class looking like they just got out of bed, when I get to class I´m more focused since my day started a few hours before.
Now that I know how good it feels when you meditate, I can´t stop!

I did 30 min of meditation today. Details will be up tomorrow. I've had quite a busy day.

The reason I want to practice meditation is because I think it's a great way of communicating with myself, to find peace within and grow strong as a person. I also want to connect more to the spiritual world and I feel that meditation is a great way of doing that.

Thanks Celes, for a creating this great forum where we can all come together and support each other :)
