I just finished 8 minutes of meditation. I started just after 10pm my time and am headed for bed. I would say I got in five solid meditating minutes and three distracted minutes. Not bad for just getting back in.
I was able to imagine my mind slipping down into my body, which in a strange way, relaxes my mind..

I'm used to this method and meditating at night but I'd like to try first thing in the morning too.

I used Insight Timer to help me keep track of my time.

I felt okay about today bit look forward to building this muscle and reaping the benefits. Good job to all here. Looks like we have quite a class!

Big Grin
Did 15 min. just now at 9:45 After a long complicated day
Chose to do a senses meditation-listening to,smelling, feeling all around me ;at computer with lights on, tv going in the other room.Slowly faded out.
Became atuned to all energies around me, then my own .Only thoughts were on what Had tuned out all and concentrated on my breathing and vibes.Realized it had been enough for me, wanted out-so slowly drifted back in.
At first I was not so excited about my day one try. But after reflecting and kind of replaying in my mind I realized had calmed , refreshed myself a bit. Feel totally relaxed and at peace with my inner self.
Learned that I could get in, disconnect or whatever very quickly even with everything going on all around me. OK. Welcome inner peace.
Good night everyone!
I always prefer early morning to do meditation but had no time-but it was nice

I remembered that today was the first day, when I was waiting for my bagel at the coffeeshop, so I sat and closed my eyes and focused on my breath for a quick second. It was enough to reframe my mind, but certainly not the meditation I was hoping for. I'll be sure to set aside time tomorrow.

Hey ! Who says that isn't valid.! It is :heart:l to be able to center yourself so quickly. Congrats and the next time do a full meditation

Thanks for the tip about the 'Oasis Meditation' website. I did two breath awareness guided meditation sessions. I spent about 30 minutes meditating. I felt so relaxed afterward that I followed the meditation by going to bed early and had a good night's sleep.

Hello everyone
I don't have internet at home so my log's may be a day behind.
Yesterday, on day one i managed 25 minutes. I will write all in my log. I changed the time of day that i have been wanting to meditate because there was a huge electrical storm and i wanted to watch it so i meditated later in the day. Today (day two) i have managed ten minutes this morning but will try again later. All details in log, ten minutes is probably not long enough i realised after comparing yesterday with today.

Be who you are and say what you feel because the people who matter don't mind and the people who mind don't matter.

My first evening of meditation after not having meditated for a while, was a happy reunion. *smiles* I felt a lot better. I am excited about getting into a habit or schedule rather than meditating just when I need to. i honestly have enough time each day for it. But like they say, bad habits are easier to keep and loose schedules tend to lure you in like a worm for the fish. Heh!

I hope everyone here had a good first day. I apologise if I have too much trouble trying to help any of you out. I do want to help out, but I am afraid this forum is not accessible. I am a blind lady that is still losing her hearing, so I use a screenreader to be able to do anything on the computer and the internet. Some programs and websites are accessible, some are not. So please know I will help however I can.

OFFICIALLY Day 1:
(onofficially Day 3)

•How was your meditation practice today?
-today was easier because I tried a different method. I counted each breath. This gave my mind "something to do" in the background instead of its usual monkeying around. It also had the added benefit of informing my mind of when the meditation would end - at 108 breaths - in order to avoid the inevitable "are we done yet? are we done yet?" thought loop that pops up while I'm usually meditating. So while my active mind was counting in the background, the rest of me cound focus on being in my body, staying present and aware.

•How long did you meditate for?
-108 breaths, 20 minutes exactly!

•Where did you meditate?
-in my bedroom

•What meditation did you do?
-counting breaths. For example, "One in, one out, two in, two out, etc."

•Any thing you want to share regarding your meditation?
It was really interesting to watch what unfolded. As my mind counted, it cleverly diverted my attention away in a variety of ways. When I got to 30 breaths, the inner critic started to judge me for various things I was doing wrong. But I simply watched it, did not put judgement on it.

Then it continued and when I got to 50 breaths, it turned up the criticism a couple of notches, but I did not get caught up in it because I saw it was just trying to get my attention like a spoiled child.

At 60 breaths, it was playing "good cop, bad cop" and the good cop was trying to compliment me on how well I was doing. But this, again was just a tactic to stroke my ego and play on my vanity.

Then it changed tactics. At 70 breaths, it became the journalist. It started relaying back to me everything I was doing. That was pretty annoying.

At 80 breaths, it became "bored." And this was good! Because I know from past experience that when my mind gets bored, I am at the threshold of a breakthrough. When my mind realizes that it's not getting an emotional reaction from the rest of me, it gets bored and - eventually - if you can maintain that, it starts to rest, and get out of the way. And that's when the authentic experience of meditation begins for me. But it takes time to get there.

So I am pleased with today's journey. Meditation always offers insights into my personality, good and bad. But it's always worth the effort!

Wishing everybody a fantastic day!

Hi,

I meditated the first day (twice a day: 15 min and 20 min ) and second day (once, 10 min). I did not have a time to describe it in the journal. I will do it as soon as possible.

Regards
Kamil

Should have another report for meditation #2 later this evening! Liking it very much so far! Very productive today, a coincidence? I hope not :-)

I did manage a couple minutes on day one, actually using the So Ham technique that Ish spoke of. I found that very useful!

Hi livewellplayhard, seek your help to update your progress in the respective day's thread (i.e. Day 2's thread for Day 2's progress). It's to make it easier for updating purposes and also for the other participants as they check in on each other's progress. Thank you!

Hi guys! I meditated for 10 minutes on day one... My insight is to be open about it and think of it as slowing down :)
