Hello guys! Today is Day 5 of our 21-day challenge to live our healthiest life ever. Today, we're going grocery shopping. ;)

Step 1: Write out your standard grocery list

Refer to your ideal meal plan from Day 4. What food items do you need to create these meals? Write them down.

Step 2: Highlight the items which you need to purchase today

Some of the food items may already be present in your house, while some may not. Highlight the items which you need to purchase.

Step 3: Go shopping!

Today, take some time to shop at the grocery shop or the supermarket. If you're working, drop by the supermarket during lunch or after work. Take this list with you as you do that, and get the items you've highlighted in Step 2!

At the same time, keep your eyes open for any healthy food items, and get them if they complement your ideal healthy diet.

Day 5 of Your 21-Day Healthy Living Plan

What are your tasks listed for today? Do them with excellence and report them in your 21DHL Journal.

Also, read your group mates' 21DHL journals and cheer them along! Pick a few members' journals and make it a point to post meaningful replies there.

Update Your 21DHL Journals

Once you are done for the day, update your 21DHL Journal. You are also welcome to update your 21DHL Journal multiple times throughout the day. Post all your results for today's task and your 21-Day Healthy Living Plan directly in your journal.

If you have any questions specific to today's task, post them here.

Whenever I get into the groove of having a proper healthy diet one of the worries in the back of my head is buying food I may not be able to use. Some foods are very perishable and I feel silly if I am not able to eat something like before it goes bad. This can happen to me with things like celery, lettuce, etc.

I'm getting better at this though. Saturday was the last time I went grocery shopping. It was in preparation for 21DHL and I think I did a pretty good job only buying things that I will use within 5 to 7 days. I usually only shop once a week but I think I may have to begin shopping twice or maybe evening 3 times a week and buying a smaller amount of food. This will help ensure that I have fresh produce and avoid food spoil.

Hey Matt, same here - I've cultivated the habit of only buying a small quantity of food each time, which helps ensure I finish everything I buy, plus ensure freshness of the food (since I eat largely raw now). I find that fruits like bananas, apples and grapes can be kept for a while (a week) especially when put in the fridge, so you may consider doing that if you don't already do so now!
