Hello everyone,
My sister thinks I am crazy to do this now (an example of why not to tell anyone about your fast) but I am going ahead with my decision.:)

Thank you everyone!!!!!!! It's nice to know people are here supporting you. And I look forwards to documenting my fast in detail this time and AFTER the fast during the entire re-feeding, to help anyone who is thinking of fasting in the future.
I am actually really excited for this fast:)

Hi guys:)

Just thought I would update you... so there is 4.5 days until my fast. The past week I have been EATING like CRAZY. Im not kidding here... I reached over 3000 cals yesterday. Gah. Also I have been eating ALOT of bananas (yersterday was 10!) which I am allergic to lol. My fast is so puffy and blotchy and red right now! Its horrible.
Anyways this was not my plan, as I had planned to follow a good pre-fast plan to make detox easier during the fast. I will be getting back on for the next days until it begins however.

Also, today is my 21st birthday. I made life-altering choices today. I am being very serious about changing the way I behave and act on my thoughts.

Hi, Hannah. Sorry I missed your birthday. I hope you had fun.

Your plan ahead looks great.

Are you going to begin your fast after school is done for the season?

Hey Matt:)
Yup- my fast begins the morning of my last exam this thursday. I was going to start it before but it became way too hard to concentrate so I decided to postpone it. I am actually thinking of making this one 28 days.. I will see how it goes later. But three weeks minimum for sure! Are you still up for fasting???

I'm waiting for later on in the year when I can take 14 days (or more) off work to do my fast. I'll be supporting you and reading your posts eagerly during your fast though.

Thanks Matt! I am looking forwards to your fast too!

The past week I have been CRAZY. I dont know if it is the stress of exams coupled with the excitement of my fast or what, but I have been eating like crazy, and the worst foods imaginable (well.. I guess there is worse). I had eggs and white rice today :0 and I even caught myself looking at some chicken :hit: remember Lynette talking about a similar experience, just having a "Free for all" before her fast and buying chocolate, ext even though she hadnt had those foods in years! Since this is my last fast I ever intend to do I guess I am just eating the foods now I will never get to eat again haha (why does brown rice taste like crap compared to white... bah). Anyways I have gained weight this week and that is not what I was intending to do. I know I will lose it on the fast but I am not a fan of the cycle of gaining and losing... I think it harms one's health. I am still at the weight that I ended my last fast on though, so I guess that's a plus.
Okay getting back on track right now. For the next three days (starting sunrise of june 13th) I am going to do mostly mono-meal orangesso I can undo some of the damage I have caused haha. I am just having my last ever bowl of white rice right now...
Will blog about these three pre-fast days!

Day 1 Pre-fast:

I felt (And still feel) SO nauseous and was about to throw up in the morning :/ *gives finger to rice and eggs*
Anyways, other than that and studying (cant wait for this exam to be done with!) I am quite excited for this fast. I started making a list of things I want to accomplish today while on it! wohoo.

Eats:
12 oranges, 1 romaine lettuce head, 3 stalks steamed broccoli, 2 red peppers, 1 asian pear

I am excited to read this as well. Unfortunately for me, I have the same issue as Matt but not enough time to take vacation. I feel that my body would not get the rest it deserves if I did a fast while still working.

I am so excited to see how this fast goes though. And I am still jealous.

Hey Hannah, all the best for your upcoming fast! I'll be here rooting for you as usual. :D Sorry that I haven't been posting around as often as before; I've just been busy with several things (the upcoming trip and hair loss being among them - just kidding about the hair loss  ). I'll definitely be following your progress closely.

Also as I mentioned in your profile wall, happy birthday to you! This is going to be a marvelous 21st year for you, I'm so sure of it.

By the way regarding the overeating episodes, I can totally empathize with what you're saying because that's how it goes with me when I binge/emotional eat. The biggest thing I can share here is not to set too harsh a delineation and commandment on what you should/should not do right after, because that usually worsens the situation and starts a perpetuating cyclical pattern of behavior thereafter. The very root of the overeating stems from self-pressurization, self-oppression and coercing ourselves to do things that we don't want, and while the desire to get "back on track" thereafter stems from good intentions, the very act of setting a black/white guideline on what we should/should not do/eat/behave is in itself, that self-oppressive act. Guidelines are very important as ideals to work towards, but not so much if they're just serving as criteria to self-punish/self-bash if we don't conform/live in line with them. The best way I've found (from my experience) is to fully accept the overeating, be totally okay with it, and tune in with our higher selves in terms of what he/she wants to do, eat, behave. That's when we become aligned with our inner selves and stop the vicious cycle of self-restrain/overspilling/self-restrain again. (like a yo-yo phenomenon)

Hi guys!
Moira- Haha like I was telling Celes, only us would be jealous/ excited about three weeks of torture and detox. lol. Dont worry, your time will come!!!
Celes, thank you for what you said! I have actually already thought about this subject and will be thinking about it ALOT and doing alot of reflections during my fast on the topi. I agree with what you have to say completely though,.. after my last fast I realized that no matter how many restrictions I put on the TYPE of food I can eat, I will always find a way to overeat. I know exactly why I overeat and what the solution should be though.

OKAY EVERYONE... MY FAST IS BEGINNING IN RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! :dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance:
I was going to begin the next day (the 16th) right before my exam but decided against it so I am eating so much (gah!) and just want to get started already. Plus the first two days are easy and there is no detox so that wont be a problem with studying. Im super excited :)

Eats today: (alot... lol)
- 9 oranges
-2 bananas
-3 potatoes
-1 asian pear
- LARGE BOWL rice lol ( Know I know... but its the last ever haha)

Here is what I am planning to do during this fast:
1. Spend time out in the sun, getting fresh air
2. Clean room- throw out old stuff so I can re-decorate it
3. Update ipod- Download alot of new songs as I am sick of the ones I have now lol
4.Do alot of DEEP REFLECTION- This is the most important task. Some things I want to address include:
a. why do I overeat? How can I stop this? What started this cycle in my life?
b. What diet do I see myself eating after this fast, 5 years down the road, 10+ years? IS it realistic? What are my dietary guidelines, if any?
c. How can I feel confident about myself again so I can be able to go out and form new relationships and build a social circle? Why do I prevent myself from having fun/letting go?
d. What kind of person do I want to be, how do I want to live? Is it realistic, or am I chasing an impossible dream?
e. Why have I stuck to these habits that have been causing me harm these past two years? Why do I allow myself to inflict pain on myself? What am I going to do about these habits?
f. What have I learned from these past 2 years, in terms of health, my goals, myself as a being, ext?
5. Read books:)

I will also be doing the normal things like cooking for my family, cleaning the house, ext. Like I said in a previous post, while the last fast I spent my time trying to WASTE time (lol) this time I am going to put this time to good use. So I am not going to cruise youtube aimlessly, ext. I have already eliminated forums that I used to go on when I ended m y first fast. Those were mostly raw vegan forums and I am glad I cut them off, as some are very cult like and I feel myself being absorbed back into their ideas everytime i go on the sites. Without these sites I am able to think much clearer on my dietary goals.

On Friday I am going to go get my blood tested for iron, b12 and vit D just so I know where I am at. If these levels are within normal I will feel much more safe in doing a longer fast (with the exception of Vit D... I can just go lay out in northern Canada's "sun" lol). I kind of want to do a 28 day fast but at the same time dont want my hair to fall out , which can happen with excessive fasting. We will see! But 3 weeks is definitely a minimum.
I feel like this is the last part of this journey with the beginning of a new journey at the end. Im quite excited.

Yes all the best in your fast Hannah!!!:clap: We'll all be here for you!:dance: You've raised very astute, important questions in your fasting agenda and I'm excited to see what comes out of them in your 3-4 weeks.

By the way on the forums you mentioned, were you visiting them to get ideas on diets to embark on after your last fast? (Unhealthy cult behavior aside,) do you think they'll be useful for people inducing into the raw way of life? You can share with me directly in my profile wall since it's not very relevant to your fasting thread any way.

Hi Celes,
I will be talking about those forums later on... I have a few thoughts about them:)

I have not started my fast yet guys- I had to stop and really think why I am doing this. I am the type of person who does alot of thinking/ planning before I set out to do something. Well the good news is that I AM DONE! I updated my fasting reasons (as you can see from the initial post above)

So it begins in a few hours:) Today I have been munching on grapes and cashews... too bad all the good fruits are super cheap now in the stores haha.
