Day 20 Review
Yesterday’s question was: “What Limiting Beliefs Are You Holding On To?“. (Read the responses.)
Limiting beliefs are the biggest inhibitor to growth. While many people are quick to single out money / time / resources / networks as the reason why they are not achieving X things, I firmly believe it is our attitude, and nothing else, that determines whether we succeed in our goals or not.
All of us have beliefs. And believe it or not, we have more limiting beliefs than we realize. It’s just a matter of whether we’re conscious of them or not. One tell tale sign on whether we have limiting beliefs – If we are still in the process of achieving X goal vs. having achieved X goal, that’s a clue that there is/are limiting beliefs blocking us from achieving X goal right away.
After all, when you have people like Wilma Rudolph, who was handicapped as a child due to a series of life threatening illnesses as an infant, but later overcame all odds to walk, run, join her school’s track team, win 3 gold medals at the World Olympics, break the Olympic record for 200m dash and become hailed as “The Tornado” and “the fastest woman on earth”, there is really no reason why we can’t achieve any of our goals. The “reasons” we cite become no more than flimsy excuses and cop-outs.
Some of you have openly shared your limiting beliefs, and I’m very proud of you for doing so. Like you, I have limiting beliefs too. My limiting beliefs include: I’m not good enough, I’m not pretty enough, I’m not achieving enough, I’m not worthy of love, I’m all alone.
I have cleared many limiting beliefs in the course of my growth journey, and as I dissolve away my top layers of disempowering beliefs, I realize I’m now dealing with fundamental beliefs formed when I was a small kid. While addressing them becomes more intricate since they are deeply embedded in the subconscious, it doesn’t mean it’s impossible – it just means it’s time to look deeper. This is also a sign I’m moving forward in my growth, which is something to celebrate about.
As I mentioned yesterday, yesterday’s question is a precursor to one of the important tasks we will be working on in the upcoming Live a Better Life in 30 Days Challenge. Keep a note of your answers, because we are going to do a deep dive into them come Day 25 of 30DLBL! If you haven’t signed up yet, hurry and do it now – we’re kicking off in 3 days time!
With that said, let’s now move to our last question for 21DJC!
21DJC Day 21
Having answered 20 questions, the last question for 21DJC is:
What is Your Biggest Wish for the Future?

As you look onward to the future, what would you say is your biggest wish – one that you are most passionate to see happen?
(This is the last question for 21DJC, so put your best foot forward and make your answer count!)
Put on your reflection cap and let your thoughts flow. Below is an empty form which you can use to write your answers to the question. Treat it as your private 21DJC journaling “room”, if you will. You will be seeing this form every day, for the 21 days of the challenge. There’s a button for you to keep track of your word count too, if you’re interested.
(Note you will not see the form below if you’re viewing this in your email client. Visit the actual post online to see the form.)
What is Your Biggest Wish for the Future?
[include_HTML: http://personalexcellence.co/challenges/21djc/wordcount.php]
Your Task Today:
- Reflect and answer today’s question. There’s no word limit – whether minimum or maximum. Write as few or as many words as you want. It’s all up to what you want to express!
- Share your answer. After you are done writing, copy and paste your answer in the comments area and post it there.
- Check out other participants’ answers. Other participants will be sharing their answers too, so feel free to read and reply to their answers. This is a group course, so let’s support each other in these 21 days.
Once again, this is not the last post for 21DJC. Stay tuned for the final post tomorrow, where you get to post your feedback and round-up what you’ve learned in the past 21 days.

Be financially independent in order to focus on pursuing my passion.

My biggest wish for the future is :

What is my biggest wish for the future?
My biggest wish would be for the population of this planet to wake up and stop following traditions that are damaging to the planet. Consuming animal products would be the main one due the serious environmental issues being caused by the dairy, meat, and fishing industries. Not to mention the considerable harm being inflicted upon these animals and fish, along with the health implications and diseases that are a direct result of consuming animal products.
Having lots of kids would be another of these traditions. Of course there’s nothing wrong with having kids, but over population is already a major concern. But still, many religious leaders are encouraging their people have as many kids as possible.
There are more of these traditions that I can think of, but too many to list here.
So that’s my wish. It may sound slightly extreme, but if acted upon would benefit the planet significantly.

Good question. Since I was about 17 or 18 I’ve had a lot of dreams that have come true the next day in one way or another. It’s happened too many times to remember actually, so I should really keep a record of each time it happens. But really silly things though. The last time it happened was just this year. I had a dream about kite surfing. I had no idea why as it’s definitely not something I would ever even think about, but that following day I went to Manly and along the southern end of the beach there were these guys kite surfing! First time I’d seen that at Manly. Whenever it happens it always takes me by surprise.
There was another time way back. I dreamt that I saw this art teacher from my school. It had probably been 5 years at least since I’d left school and even seen the guy. Of course I had no idea why he’d appear in one of my dreams. Then that following day when I got home from work, there he was outside the fruit market next door to my house! I’ll never forget that.
So my wish for myself is that I could dream the winning Power Ball or Lotto numbers the night before a draw

To be accepted into ____ (sorry I can’t really say on here, it’s private) and when I do, that’s when I can accept all the opportunities given to me, and live my life the way I finally want it to be lived.

I forgot to add that over the years I have practice a journalling technique called MORNING PAGES as described by Julia Cameron in her book THE ARTISTS WAY. The idea is to write three pages long hand (NOT using the computer and there is a reason for this) at the beginning of the day.
There is no specific question to answer but you can take one of the “101 questions” from Celes’s blog as a starting point or develop your own set of questions to explore.
I started this practice in 1995 and have practiced intermittently since then. I find them to be very beneficial when dealing with issues or searching for new directions. I am going to write them again in December during the 30DLBL challenge.
Read more about the technique and watch a video by Julia Cameron:

Here is another page from a forum -

Recently I found my pags from 1995 – 1997 and I am re-reading, making a few notes
then destroying them. They are rather personal.

My biggest wish for the future? My biggest wish would be to see the world, or even my community, come together in peace and understanding. My biggest wish is to live in a world where love is the driver of society. To that end, I try to do my part every day, to see the beauty in things, give others the benefit of the doubt, and not take life too seriously, so I think we can all get there eventually.

My biggest wish is for America to get back to the basics of our Constitution; freedom for all and small unobtrusive government and for my fellow citizens who wish for government to solve all their problems to move back to Europe or some other more socialistic form of government, Greece perhaps?

Well, spiritually, I wish to be united with God in the afterlife. That’s pretty big for a lot of us here. I’d love to see suffering in humanity reduced, and ditto for the suffering we’ve caused our planet. It’s easy to be negative, but I see many positive forces brewing as civilization marches forward, and I hope/wish we’ll use our collective brainpower, technology, information sharing, etc., in a way that opens new, wonderful frontiers of experience for this planet’s residents.
But my biggest personal development wish — as that’s the focus of the site — would be for a more harmonious relationship with my family.

I wish for so many things, and the priority level of each wish fluctuates, but I consistently wish that my children are happy and healthy, that my grandson is able to shine even though (or maybe because ) he has Asberger’s, that I remain happy and fulfilled in my life path, that I remain healthy and not a burden to my children. How selfish are those wishes? I would like to be able to say I spend my time wishing for world peace, but that is sadly not the case. My wishes are much smaller and closer to home.

The one wish I am most interested in seeing is to just be happy. To be content with the circumstances I’m in, and accept it, and be fortunate that it’s my vision of joy.

Right now, my biggest wish is to buy a house with my husband, and have a studio (instead of just a corner in a room) where I can work on my paintings whenever I want.

Like everyone here, I too wish for world peace; that each of us become more tolerant of each other’s culture, traditions and religion; that there would be more love and understanding for each other as human beings, although with many differences but basically we all long for love, peace and harmony in our lives. It’s what we are ignorant of that makes us react unintelligently, at times.
On a personal level:-
* That my son will successfully graduate in two years time, get a job in a caring organization, happy and living to his passion, growing to his higher self, giving and serving in all the ways that he can in making this world a better place for everyone.
* That my blog will eventually evolve into a meaningful site not only for myself but for anyone who visits it.
This is our last journaling challenge and I will miss everybody here. I will miss writing out all my secret thoughts and fears. After writing them out, surprisingly, they become less fearful! Awesome!
Thank you, Glenn and Karman. Your words have touched me and I will remember them always.
Thank you, Celes, for meticulously planning this Journaling Challenge and hosting it for these 21 days. Athough you are travelling and I know that you have met with some challenges on the way, you have, without fail carried on and followed through with this challenge, with great professionalism. By the way, congratulations on being nominated for the Top 50 Personal Development Blogs 2011.
All the best to everyone. My wish for all, much love, peace and harmony. Hugs.
