Today, I’m extremely, extremely excited to announce an upcoming Blogging Intensive Bootcamp Series that is going to be launched in a couple of days’ time.
My Blogging History
As most of you know, I’ve been blogging at Personal Excellence for almost 2.5 years now. I started Personal Excellence with 0 visitors, and built it from a blog with no content, a blog that no one knew about, to one of the top personal development blogs online today. Today, Personal Excellence has over 300 high value articles, receives over 250k unique readers and over half a million pageviews a month, is one of the top 50k websites in the world (Alexa ranking), and is recognized as a trusted authority in personal development and growth. Along this blogging journey, I’ve amassed countless knowledge, learnings, strategies and principles on what exactly it takes to make a blog the best of its kind. And I’m excited to finally be able to share this with everyone via a structured, concentrated bootcamp course.
Introducing: Blogging Intensive Bootcamp
Come March 26, I’ll be conducting an all-new Blogging Intensive Bootcamp – a 4-week, no-nonsense bootcamp which will dive deep into the very core of your blogs, correct it from inside out, and set it on the roadmap to success. In this bootcamp, I’ll be covering the foundations of what it takes to create a transformational blog – from (a) Creating a Strategy/Plan for your blog (b) Building Core Blog Fundamentals (c) How to Write Quality Content (d) Overall Traffic Building Strategy. It’ll be an intensive blogging crash course that will put you up to speed on the dos/don’ts in blog building, take big strides in your blog development progress and learn what it takes to succeed with your blog.
While there’s an immense value I can add to others in the domain of blogging, I’ve never actively channeled this knowledge into a medium where I can benefit others, until today. To date I’ve been doing it via 1-1 coaching with private clients, and also via speaking/training engagements with corporations. Many of them have gone on to achieve immense results with their sites post the coaching/training sessions, with the most recent being a Fortune 500 MNC (whom I conducted a social media training with last year) which subsequently went on to launch a brand new social media campaign for their brand just last month (Feb), drove mass levels of hype and buzz for the campaign, picked up multiple media coverages and achieved an unprecedented level of buzz among their target users. With a 4-week intensive bootcamp session, I can’t wait to see the results that will lead as a result of this course.
Who Should Join
The upcoming Blogging Intensive Bootcamp (BIB) is for any of the 3 key groups of people:
1. Beginner Bloggers who want to jump-start the growth of their blog
This can be divided into 2 groups of people – (a) People who are just starting out in blogging and want to jump-start their blog’s growth (b) People who have been blogging for a while, but having been doing so more as a recreation/hobby. They have never done anything specific to grow their blogs, but want to start building their blog professionally moving forward.
If you fall under either groups, this bootcamp is perfect for you. It doesn’t matter if you don’t have a blog yet (see below), if you have just started your blog or if you have 0 visitors. With BIB, you will learn about the essential blogging groundwork and equip yourself with top learnings that will go a long way to bringing your blog to success in the long haul.
2. Those looking to build their passion / a business via online platform of blogs
In Million Dollar Challenge, I realized that many of the participants are actually looking to build online businesses and/or pursue their passions via blogs. If that’s the case, it is absolutely critical that you get the best information and resources to build your blog, because this is going to be the central base of your work. Fact: How successful you become in your work will be a function of how successful your blog is. If the foundational pillars are not in place and you do not have the right blogging know-how and insights, it doesn’t matter even if you have the best skill in your craft (say, painting, writing, expertise in your niche) – you’ll be unable to deliver your talents to the world.
3. Intermediate bloggers who want to reevaluate their blogging fundamentals and strategies
Bloggers who have been working to grow their blogs for months, but have limited results. Many intermediate bloggers never get their blogs to take off or to generate significant traffic after months, to even years, of blogging, as they miss the strategic elements about blogging. BIB is focused more on strategies and principles, which are more important for long-term sustainable success, vs. short-term tactics and quick fixes which are only temporary.
No Blog Yet? Not to Worry
You should have your own hosted blog before the course starts (even if there are 0 visitors). The reason is because the 4-week course is filled with hands-on activities which require you to start working away on your blog.
If you don’t have your blog yet, not to worry – I’ve already prepared a 6-step pre-work crash tutorial on how to quickly get your blog up and running, complete with hosting recommendation and quick links to ready resources. This tutorial is already available in the BIB membership area, and you can get started immediately once you register. With the course starting on 26 March, it’ll leave you with sufficient time to get everything set-up before BIB officially kicks off.
Key Objectives of BIB
As I mentioned above, these are 4 core objectives of BIB: Foundational Series -
- Lay down the strategy and plan for your blog (Clarifying your blog mission statement, KPIs, Target audience, Title, Slogan, Assessing your blog’s landscape, Identifying the players in your niche, Analyzing them, Understanding their proposition, etc) – Week 1
- Get the foundational pillars in place (Researching different layout options for your blog, Structuring your site, Creating the essential sections, Layout out the right categories/Tags, etc) – Week 1
- Learn how to write quality content (What it takes to create top content, Different article types, Creating your articles list, Practice in writing different article types, Analyzing competitor content, Getting your blog prepped for sharing etc) – Weeks 2-3
- Cover traffic building fundamentals (Different traffic building strategies, Key social media channels and how they work, Identifying guest post blogs, etc) – Week 4
I will NOT be covering any of the following:
- Monetization – I’ll be transparent here – Many bloggers fail because they think about money before they even have any substantial traffic. Substantial traffic here is defined by, at the very least, 2-3k unique readers/day. I only launched my first product, PEBook, after 1.5 years of blogging, and I only did so after I had over 5k subscribers. Unless you have built this level of traffic, any monetization attempts will only be a waste of time, as they will only result in a small trickle of income. Focus on building your blog fundamentals and traffic, THEN think about money. Money doesn’t come until your audience accepts you as an authority in your field who offers genuine, real value, and it takes time to build this.
- Technicalities like how to install WordPress, how to set up hosting, how to install plugins, how to tweak plugins, how to design/tweak a blog template, how to use graphic software, etc – There are tons of resources and tutorials out there on these, which I highly recommend you read first in your own time. BIB is about strategies and principles to bring your blog to success. Do note that I’ll not be able to offer technical support in BIB.
- Advanced blogging topics such as ebook creation, creating a course, setting up forums, community building, etc will NOT be covered or addressed. The focus of this BIB foundational series is solely on the 4 objectives above. Other topics may be covered in a separate BIB bootcamp series.
How BIB will be conducted
BIB will be conducted via an online, private forum which only those who registered can have access to. This will be a tightly knitted, committed group of people who are all ready to get their blogs launched to their success. Here, you’ll have the private space to openly discuss your blogging goals, blogging needs, and work on your blog goals without interference from others
- Daily tasks will be posted on in the private BIB forum every day. Each task has a theme and is a combination of (a) theory/insight/learning sharing and (b) specific actions tied to the task. Each day’s tasks comes with clear action steps to be done in the day itself. Members are to finish the tasks and share results with each other in the forum. The more you’re willing to commit to the tasks, the more results you’ll see for your blog’s growth. (30DLBLers will be familiar with the format)
- Focus on the essential – The BIB tasks will be based on core things I found most essential to having a great blog. While we can do 101 things and master 101 blogging topics, the reality is only 20% of them matter. You can ask questions and I’ll be happy to address where I can (while ensuring that the questions are within the scope of BIB above).
- Your BIB Action Plan – In tandem to the daily tasks, you’ll also be setting your personal BIB action plan pre-bootcamp which you’re to complete throughout the course.
- Course length – BIB will be conducted over a period of 4 weeks.
- Break/Review Days – There will be break/review days interspersed throughout the course to have everyone up to speed. Members can also ask questions during these days.
- Community Support – Members are to support each other in their blogging goals as we achieve the common objective of growing our blogs.
- Group coaching – I’ll addressing Q&As and providing overall support in the forums throughout the course. Since every niche has its own nuances and success principles that convern it, I’ll be sharing overall blogging principles and how to build a top blog vs. giving specific advice specific to the nature of your industry.
The Real Deal
I’ve seen many overpriced, hyped up blogging/web development courses/seminars costing several hundreds to thousands of dollars both online and offline, and I’m just really sick of seeing self-proclaimed, hyped up gurus/salesmen, who don’t even run a established blog with recognized traffic, rip off others with extremely low-value, generic and out-dated information. A lot of these information they pass off as “top secrets” and “insiders’ tricks” are totally passé, public domain info and not even real principles and strategies on what it takes to succeed in the blogging world today. Yet, people get duped because they don’t have knowledge in the blogging area. They think they are getting valuable information, but they aren’t.
BIB is going to be the real thing, focused on real action taking and real results. Like 30DLBL, this is a no-nonsense, action-driven course that focuses on end results. With 4 weeks of daily tasks with specific objectives, combined with theory and specific actions/next steps to be done in the day itself, AND your own BIB action plan which you create pre-bootcamp, you will literally be building your blog to its future success before the bootcamp even ends.
I’ve personally designed this course based on my best learnings in what it takes to succeed and create a top blog from the past couple of years of setting up Personal Excellence from scratch with 0 traffic, to over half a million pageviews/month today, so you can be sure that BIB is filled with best value information. I’m excited to work with all of you achieve success with your blogs, using the knowledge, strategy, principles and tools I’ve used to bring Personal Excellence to where it is today.
Small Investment, Life-time Value
For the amount of the content, the length of the bootcamp (4 weeks), the personal coaching throughout the course, the immeasurable value of the learnings, the community resources/support and the value it’s going to bring to your blog/work, this course is easily worth hundreds to even thousands of dollars. I’m sharing the best of what I’ve learned in the past 2.5 years of being in the industry, so you don’t have to spend 2.5 years of your life, experimenting with your blog and online blogosphere, only to arrive at the same conclusions.
Rather than pegging it at ridiculous price though, I’m setting BIB at only $147 USD. Considering that I do do actual blog coaching with my 1-1 clients (offering personalized advice and reviews on their blogs/strategies) and training/speaking at a much higher hourly rate, this is a severe undervaluation of the course’s price, the time and attention I’m giving it and the amount of coaching hours I’ll be spending on it.
However, I’m setting BIB at this price for a few reasons: (a) I want to make the course accessible for those who (i) are committed to change (ii) want to pursue their passions via online blogging to do so. Setting the course at an exorbitant high price will not achieve this goal. (b) I want to reach out to as many people as possible and equip them with the best and right knowledge and skills to get started on doing what they love in life. With more people taking BIB, that means more people will get to benefit from the course, and more people who can then take concrete actions on what they want to do. Ideally with a low cost per participant, it will attract a higher volume of participants, which will justify keeping the cost low for everyone.
Seriously, if you’re serious about wanting to pursue your business / passion via the online platform of blogging, please, do yourself a favor and sign up for BIB. What you learn from BIB will dramatically cut down your learning curve and all the days, weeks, months you’ll be spending on experimentation/learning and trying to figure out what works. You can in turn dedicate and channel all these time into really building your blog and your business and achieving concrete results. The returns are, without doubt, many, many times more than the ridiculously low price of the course.
As long-time readers know, the value of all products and offerings I provide at Personal Excellence only appreciate, and never depreciate with time. By taking action quickly, you can immediately equip yourself with the right skills and proceed on to apply them in your life/work immediately. Those who registered and participated in the past 30DLBLs right away have already been making so many waves of changes in their lives that it’s just incredible.
