Many of you have repeatedly asked me to start a blogging course. And I have repeatedly said no as I wanted to concentrate on products/services that are directly linked to personal excellence.
After much delay, I’m finally starting a blogging course this month to share my insights on how I created a million-pageview/month blog. This is a one-time course and I have no idea when’s the next time I will run this course again, if ever. So if you have been meaning to learn about blogging from me or you want to pick up true blue cutting-edge blogging strategies, read on!
My Blogging Story
December 14 was the day I started Personal Excellence. At that time, it was called Embrace Living.

PE circa 2008, a.k.a. Embrace Living, which I later changed because I felt it was too hippie-like. Never will you see this layout on PE again. Notice the Christmas RSS button as PE was launched in the month of Christmas.
PE gradually went through several layout redesigns.

PE in March 2009. One of the many layouts I experimented with in 2009. Very retro-looking, I know. But it soon got better.
In 2009, I renamed the site to “The Personal Excellence Blog” and switched the domain to CelestineChua.com. I later dropped “The” and “Blog” from the site name to be just “Personal Excellence” and did a domain switch to PersonalExcellence.co, which is the final and official domain for PE today.
In 2010, I revised the layout to the signature fiery red/maroon color/look which you’ve come to know (100% designed by yours truly).

How PE looked like in 2010
The PE logo, of a man standing on top of the world with his hands stretched out in exuberance, was designed by me as well.
This layout stuck around ever since. I’ve subsequently toned down the red to maroon, which has become a part of the PE brand identity ever since.

How PE looks like today, as of December 2012.
Traffic Milestone: Hitting 1 Million Monthly Pageviews
In Oct 2011, after less than three years of running the blog, PE hit one million pageviews a month. This means that we receive one million pageviews, or one million “views” of the individual pages on the site, every single month.

Yes!!!
Having one million pageviews a month meant that PE became one of the most highly read personal development blogs on the planet! In a sphere which is immensely saturated with hundred thousand other sites, this was a great accomplishment. It was a great affirmation that I was on the right track and I was doing the right things to develop the site and reach out to others.
Today, I have developed PE into a go-to resource for anything to do with personal growth, from having free articles, to daily inspirational quotes, to videos, to podcasts, to e-books, and more.
I’ve been interviewed and featured over 50 times in the media, including CNN, Channel News Asia, Cosmopolitan, Sun-Herald, My Paper, CBS Business Network, and more.
I’m also regularly invited to speak at conferences and events, having spoken at Wharton Business School (University of Pennsylvania), Kimberly Clark, JobsCentral, deBaak (leading training institute in Holland), National University of Singapore, Singapore Institute of Management, and more.
Having a blog as the platform for my business has also allowed me to be 100% mobile, where I can be in any place, anywhere I want. Last year in June, I went on a seven-month long travel around Europe and U.S., visiting different countries, experiencing different cultures and sights, and meeting PE readers along the way.
Check out some of the PE meetups I have conducted since last year:

First London PE readers meet-up, Aug 2011

Second London PE readers meet-up, Oct 2011

New York PE readers meet-up, Dec 2011

Los Angeles PE readers meet-up, Jan 2012

Singapore PE readers meet-up, Jun 2012

Kuala Lumpur/Malaysia PE readers meet-up, Oct 2012
A Blogging Course
Many of you have consistently asked me to create a blogging course or product. And I have consistently said no, because blogging simply isn’t a direct child topic of personal excellence. I didn’t want to work on something that’s not in line with the long-term direction of PE.
Well, today, for the first time in a long time, I’ve decided to start a blogging course for people who want to learn the success strategies of blogging and want to take their blogs to the next level. After four years of blogging and building one of the leading blogs online, I think it’s now finally the time to create such a course and share the knowledge to whoever who wants to learn from me.
Blogging Bootcamp: How To Build a Million-Pageview/Month Blog!
Who is this for?
- Anyone who is running a blog and wants to take it to the next level. Whether you are a new blogger, intermediate blogger, or even an advanced blogger, if you want to know what it takes to build a million-pageview/month blog, this is for you. I’ll be teaching the in-depth strategies and tactical approaches I used to build a million-pageview/month blog today. No huff. No fluff. Just real content and information.
- Anyone who has yet to start a blog and wants to learn the success strategies of blogging right away and cut down his/her learning curve (vs. plowing through the mass of information in this information-saturated market which consists of 1,001 different opinions, many of which contradict another).I’ll NOT be teaching technical know-how (like how to use WordPress or set up your blog) NOR basic how-to’s (like how to install a plugin or a theme). This is purely a content-driven course on strategies to succeed in blogging.
What will we be covering?
There will be six modules in all, with each module pegged at two hours.
- Module 1: Fundamentals of blogging (Elements of a right layout, title, tagline, domain, etc.)
- Module 2: What it takes to write powerful content

- Module 4: Strategies to retain your traffic
- Module 5: How to create raving fans (The key to self-fueling traffic)
- Module 6: Review and wrap up

Frequently Asked Questions
There are some clashes between the course schedule and my calendar. What should I do?
I will be providing recordings of the course for attendees who can’t make it for specific weeks. Each week’s recording would be available for viewing for one week from the date of the session. This is to help the participants who already have prior engagements they need to attend.
How much is the course?
$297 only. There is also a limited-time registration offer for initial registrants. (Scroll down for more details.)
Will you be releasing a product version for this course?
To be honest, I don’t know and I do not want to make any guarantees. Initially, I thought I was going to create the passive income product right after the passive income course ended but I decided to park that as I had other projects to handle.
I recommend you sign up for this course directly if you want to learn about blogging rather than wait around for the product to be released (if it ever does). The faster you get the knowledge, the faster you can apply to your blog too and get working to your blogging success. The direct coaching and course experience will always be more superior than just watching or learning from a passive product.
There are so many blogging sites out there with free information. Why should I sign up for this course?
I always like to look at the accomplishments of a person before I decide whether to take on the person’s advice. So for example, if someone is giving me weight loss advice but does not have a healthy physique, it suggests that the person is probably still missing the full picture on being healthy and hence does not have the information I’m looking for.
In the area of blogging, there are indeed many bloggers out there dispensing free information on blogging. I’ve no doubt their opinions have merit. However, if I want to learn blogging in the fastest way, I would much rather learn from someone who has already “made it” or has achieved significant blogging milestones which I want to achieve for myself. This person’s opinion would have the most credibility because he/she has walked the path and accomplished the result, and hence know what it takes to get there.
It’s much like why national teams would spend so much money hiring top-level coaches (even some flown in from other countries) to coach the players rather than engage any sports coach.
In taking this course, you get direct, point-by-point insights on how to create a million-pageview per month blog, all packed in an easy-to-digest six-module course. These are insights you will not get even from plowing through 1,000 sites on blogging, because not everyone has accomplished that milestone and can claim to know how to get there.
How To Register For Your Ticket
The course itself is only $297 for six full weeks of blogging knowledge and insights.
