I can relate to everything in this article! I am just finishing up four years of college and have been trying to figure out my purpose as well. Like you, the author, I have been successful in grades and other areas of life, but it hasn't meant much to me. What I've come to realize recently is that what makes me most happy is not only helping others, but loving them. I like to show people that love is possible, not just in a relationship, but between friends, and even strangers. As a male, I like to show women that it is possible for men to truly care about them as a person, not just an object. And I like to show guys that it is not only okay, but incredibly beneficial to share and express love between another. I find happiness in helping others, as you do. Despite my previous goals of wanting to be a journalist, I have recently decided to go into teaching (high school). This article has helped reinforce and motivate my dream of that. I believe high school is one of the best environments in which I can greatly improve a person's life and add to their passions.
