Is Your Routine Empowering You?

What is your routine every week like? What do you during your weekdays? What do you do during your weekends? Is your weekly routine empowering you?
Purpose of a Routine
A routine is a set of activities you repeat every week. By having a set of tasks to stick to each week, it gives your life a semblance of structure, so you don’t have to wake up every day wondering what you should do. In that sense, it simplifies life and provides you with stability.
Contrary to popular belief, the objective of a routine isn’t to keep things constant in your life. Quite the opposite, in fact. The objective of a routine is really progress – to help you get the best out of your daily life by default. The way it achieves that is two fold: Firstly, by having a reliable set of tasks to do every week, you don’t have to waste time planning what to do every day. You can just stick to your schedule and get right to getting things done. Secondly, by providing your life with a semblance of structure, you can keep your lower-level needs in check and and get working on satisfying higher-level needs.
Powerful Routines vs. Stagnating Routines
The mark of a powerful routine is one where you…

Your Fasting Q&As, Answered
This is part of the most complete fasting series you’ll ever find online.
![]()
Last week, I asked you if you had any questions on fasting. Many of you reverted with questions in the forums, which I’ve since consolidated and sent to Loren Lockman, Director of Tanglewood Fasting Center. Loren is an experienced faster who has supervised fasts in the past 10 years and has spoken in lectures and seminars on topics of health and wellness. He has offered detailed responses to all the questions which I have no doubt will be highly beneficial to any of you who are interested in fasting.
There are 16 questions in all which I’ve broken down into pre-fast, during fasting and post-fast questions. There are lesser questions on the fasting process since it has already been covered in detail in my fasting article and fasting logs (e.g., symptoms experienced during a fast, what one should do during fasting, and so on), so do read them if you haven’t.
Without further ado, I present the full interview to you:
Pre-Fasting:
Q1. Is there an age limit for fasting?
No, no age limit.
Q2. What is the youngest and oldest age one can fast?
There are no limits. If one is alive, they would benefit from fasting. Our oldest…

- Water consumption: 2.5 liters
- Body Temp: 35.5 C / 95.5 F
Overall Review
Today was pretty rough. There was nothing severe but the feeling of nausea was stronger than yesterday. If I was not doing anything it’d be okay, but if I was taking in too much stimuli, say watching a video with a lot of flashing and switching of scenes or reading a chat screen where someone was bombarding me with a lot of technical information, I’d feel somewhat nauseous. I think even looking at the monitor computer for a while would give that effect. I didn’t feel like doing anything at all, so I pretty much slept for a large part of the day.
(Note: It’s actually Day 6 as I’m writing this review (1:20am to be exact), and I’m feeling a lot better – which is also why I’m writing the post now.)
Water Consumption
Because of the nauseous feeling, I didn’t drink as…

- Today’s Weight: 137.2lbs / 62.2kg
- Diff vs. Yesterday: -2.6lbs / -1.2kg

- Water consumption: 4.6 liters

Overall Review
Today was another great day! I was half expecting to get aches in the body, pain in the organs, sensations, etc, which are signs of the body processing the toxins and healing in those areas. Rather, there was none of that (nothing significant anyway). If anything, I feel great, especially mentally. But then again, it’s too early to expect detox – it’s just Day 3, and ketosis typically kicks in Days 4-5 onward.
I was also half expecting to deal with food urges today, but there was none of that, as per Days 1-2. It was a breeze going through the day without food. Seeing people eat and seeing food didn’t make me want to join in. I was even browsing raw vegan restaurants online and checking out their menus, complete with drool-worthy pictures!
There were a few points here and there where I thought “it’d…
